Oh, he liked that, did he?  It was not the kind of encouragement she needed. She was an awful person, truly. For example… “There was also the time I was responding to a seizure on the island. It was in the neighboring village. They couldn’t figure out why this young child kept having seizures. … turns it it wasn’t exactly seizures, he was just throwing a hissy fit because he wasn’t getting his way. At that time, I had a habit of saying a random nonsensical phrase to mean ‘Talk to me and tell me what’s wrong, how you’re feeling,’ that sort of thing. So, uh, yeah. I walked into the room and loudly, in front of his parents and half his village, said my random nonsensical phrase, which was, ‘What’s shakin’, Bacon?’.  “Captain, I don’t know what higher power allowed me to escape with my neck unsnapped, but I thank them every day.”
“we had to cut off part of someone’s face including their ear and we put it in the corner so i went and whispered ‘can you still hear me’ into it. nobody else thinks i’m funny” (pretend I logged into Lani)
“What do you mean no one thinks you’re funny? That’s hilarious!” Aavarii gasped, a high pitched squeal of delight tinging his voice. He loved hearing stories of Lani’s exploits - as it turned out, operating out of a stable location meant there was a greater chance for morbid hijinks than, say… a battlefield.
( @spectrisconsarcio pretend I tagged Lani, I forgot what her blog is called and am too lazy to look it up )

She laughs almost nervously.  “Aha. Well, I’m in no position to tell you not to... and I’m sure someone around here needs a kneecap busted or something.”
“Would it be unethical of me to pay someone to go out and bust some kneecaps or something? I’m just… so incredibly bored.”

“Because if kneecaps are broken, one of them might come to me and I’ll have something to do!” A pause, and an incredibly innocent smile. “I was kidding, by the way.”

illidari‌:
Her ears perked up with interest and she stepped forward, looking into the bag and pulling out a book at random- rather, they seemed less like books and more like very full notebooks. Spinner thumbed through the pages, running her fingertips along the messy writing. “Oh, I wouldn’t harm a single page of these beauties, no no no. Light, these must have taken ages to compile- how old are you, anyways?” She winced and pressed the heel of her hand to her temple. “Shut up,” she muttered, “hush hush hush. Stop that, stop it stop it now.”
After a moment, she relaxed slightly, handing the book back to Lani. “It’s the hairs,” she said, and held up her hand. “I can feel the ink on the page if I focus. And these help.” She pointed to the small arachnid eyes beneath her empty sockets. Her free hand twitched at her side, curling into a tight, rigid fist.
Well... that’s... concerning. Reflexively, she took a step back. She’d already been instructed to make herself scarce if she thought a demon hunter was having control issues. It was not a warning she planned to take lightly. Seemingly reading her body language, Ruslan stepped forward to wedge himself between the human and the elf. “Uh. Are... are you okay?” She asked, frowning. “Should... do I need to go get someone for you?”

“Sure! You can read it if you’d like! It’s interesting that you can read. I’ve found that some Illidari cannot. But if you’d like a better read,” she said, turning to dig into the bag on the dog next to her, “I have more extensive studies about other races and subraces. You know, races and subraces with a longer history than me. And you’re free to read any you’d like. Just be careful with them, please? I put a lot of work into these. They’re kind of my babies.”
illidari‌:
“Mhm! Fans, admirers, curious watchers- everyone’s got something to say about the human on board. Haven’t heard anything bad so far.” She handed the book back with one hand and offered a small dagger with the other.
“It won’t be hard for you to find help around here- or test subjects,” she added with a giggle.
“Oh, good! I’d rather have fans than critics, I suppose.” Although, those kept her humble and, strangely, had a tendency to help her work out the worst kinks in her theories and procedures.  With a small thanks for the dagger, she cut as much of the webbing as she could and curled it up on itself like rope. She had a good two or three feet of it so she wasn’t worried about it sticking to itself. She would only be working with a few inches at a time anyway.  “Yes, I’ve noticed that! Everyone is incredibly helpful and I’ve rarely had to lift a finger to find someone for anything. Although I have had to shoo an elf or two out of my way. Sometimes you lot are a little too helpful,” she grinned and handed the dagger back.

She released the book but still hovered around it protectively. There was months of research in there! It would be devastating if it were damaged!  “O-oh. I have fans, huh?” Or the opposite of it, maybe? “This could help more than just Illidari, actually. It’s just a thought so far. I’ll have to work with it and play around for a bit. ... um...” She turned her attention to the strands hanging from the ceiling and frowned. “I’m sorry, do you happen to have a knife or something on you?” So far, she’d found that most of the demon hunters didn’t go far without a thousand sharp things on them.
illidari‌:
Spinner held still as Lani poked and prodded, and nodded eagerly when she asked for the silk. “Take as much as you want! I can always make more. But!” She leaned in, giving every impression that she was looking Lani dead in the eye. “You have to show me what you do with it.” Spinner was incredibly curious about this woman, and if she was this fascinated with Spinner, then her work must be something very exciting!
“O-oh.” She backed up a pace because, honestly, she could stand everything considered creepy and gross regarding the Illidari but the eyes were just … a little much. Even the best had their limits.  “Well.” She swallowed against a slight gag and flipped to a page in one of her books full of scribbling and drawings and question marks. It likely did not make any sense to anyone but her. “I’m looking for a better suture material. Sheep’s gut just doesn’t cut it for the more active and… uh, acidic, amongst us.”

“Uh. Well.” She clears her throat. “Is that a demon in your pants or are you just happy to see me?”

illidari‌:
“Issarix. She’s an Aranasi. And she is in me!” She mimed biting something and chewing. “Ate her right up!”
She hopped down and held her hands up to the woman’s face, so she could see the many tiny hairs coming through her skin. “They’re on my feet too. I think they’re super strong because she’s a demon and not a regular spider. And then-!” She spun around to show her back. Low down by her hips, her skin was much rougher and almost scaly, and there seemed to be some sort of slit across her back. She flexed, and a plate of skin pulled up slightly as two spinnerets unfolded themselves from the slit. “Everyone else thinks it’s super gross!” She giggled as if this fact delighted her.
Leilani looked all of this over with intense fascination. She used her quill to poke gently at the tiny hairs and ran the feathery end of the quill along the tops of the spinnerets. It was then that she realized she ... may be acting a little invasive of personal space. She backed up a step and lifted her hands in apology.  “I’m sorry! But, uh, no, that’s all interesting!” But the silk... that was far more interesting. She reached into her pocket to pull out a glove and used it to grab a small length of the thick silk. “Would you mind terribly if I stole some of this? It gave me an idea about something I’ve been working on lately.”

“That’s... interesting! But how? I mean, clearly there’s something arachnid-like... um... well, I don’t know what term to use other than ‘in you’ but that’s ... not right, is it?” ANYWAY. “So how does that work for you? Is it like the usual spider feet with the gripping hairs? That usually only works because they’re so small. It’s rare to find a spider beast bigger than a small hand able to pull itself up a vertical surface... I’m sorry, I’m rambling. Do you know how it works or is it just one of those things that works because it works?” She found that happening a lot among the demon hunters.
Continuing from (x) | @akualapaau
The elf blinked her many eyes at the human woman. She knew what she meant by “other things”. This woman wasn’t horrified or creeped out by the skills granted by her demon- she was intrigued.
She smiled. “I can climb the walls. Watch!” She sprung up and forward, grabbing hold of the wall and beginning to scale it, her hands and bare feet easily sticking to the metal.
