Running a food cart business on just $50 sounded like an exciting challenge at first—but now I’m really starting to feel the pressure.
What’s Working?
People love the idea. Students are always hungry and looking for something affordable, and that’s exactly what we offer. We’ve had consistent interest and a lot of positive feedback about the food itself, which keeps me motivated. The hustle feels real and rewarding when I see someone enjoy what we made.
What’s Not Working?
The biggest problem is getting paid. Some students still haven’t cleared old payments, and it’s getting harder to manage cash flow. I try to give a bit of flexibility because I understand student struggles, but it’s starting to hurt the business. Also, with such a small starting amount, any delay or missed payment makes a huge impact. Profit is not only low—it’s shrinking. That’s the tough truth.
How’s the Project Coming Along?
Honestly, it’s not as smooth as I hoped. It feels like we’re surviving week by week, just trying to make it to the next sale. I knew it would be hard, but I didn’t expect how much of a balancing act this would be between customer service, budgeting, and managing expectations.
What Am I Learning About Running a Business?
Every small decision matters. From pricing to payment methods, to how much inventory we buy—everything affects the bottom line. I’m also learning that trust and communication with customers is important, but I need to draw clear boundaries when it comes to money, or the business won’t last.
What Am I Learning About Myself?
I’m more resilient than I thought, but also a bit too lenient. I care about people and want to help, but I’m realizing that being a kind person and being a smart business owner sometimes clash. I need to work on making decisions that protect the business while still treating people fairly.

This is the update for my small buisness foody cart
One of the major challenges in my food business, Foody Cart, is transportation. Efficient delivery is crucial to reaching more customers and ensuring timely service. To solve this issue, purchasing a car for deliveries would be a strategic investment. A car would allow me to expand my delivery radius, reduce dependency on external transportation, and improve the speed and reliability of service. Additionally, it would provide better protection for food, especially in bad weather, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction. While the initial cost of a car is high, I could explore options like a used vehicle or financing plans to make it affordable. The long-term benefits, including increased sales and business growth, would outweigh the costs, making this a valuable solution for my business.

So, I started this mini business with just $50, aiming to provide cheap food for students who are tired of overpriced meals. The plan was to Buy in bulk, cook in batches, and sell at super low prices.
First problem? TRANSPORTATION. I didn’t think about how to get the food to students efficiently. Carrying bags of meals around campus isn’t sustainable, and delivery services eat into my tiny budget.

So having a business idea of selling food at cheaper price needs the major resources and permits to establish to embark on we need is the place for selling food as its cheap so media attraction might not be needed much so i have one source for providing me the place as he gives his shop for low prices and all the raw material will be collected by my one of the partner andd on other hand my another partner will arrange me the permits and authority for my business and if talking about the main character who will be making tge food in safe and healthy manner so it will be me itself for the start up. we need food vendor permit to start this up.
