actually genuinely curious about this because anecdotally I think I've seen a shift, maybe even in my own reading patterns

Let me tell you a short story about how it's never too late to comment on an "old" fic.
When I had one of my babies, a bunch of people brought me food that first week. It was wonderful!
Then, like 3 months later, someone brought me dinner out of the blue. They said they liked to do that because parents need support when their babies are 3 months old just as much as they need it when they're 3 days old. This was so special and appreciated!
This person didn't say to themselves, "It's too late to bring dinner now, it's been 3 months, it would be weird now." Because they knew it is never too late nor weird to be kind.
Let me say that again.
It is never too late nor weird to be kind.
My oldest kid is almost 16 years old now. If someone randomly brought me dinner now so I didn't have to cook tonight, I would worship them just as much as those people who brought me dinner 15 years ago.
Fanfic authors need your support when their fic is 15 years old just as much as they need it when it's 3 months old and just as they need it when it's 3 days old. There is literally never a time when it is too late to comment. Every nice comment is a gift and brings us joy.
So please go comment on someone's old fic today. Or bring someone dinner who's had a baby in the last 20 years. I guarantee neither of these recipients will think you're weird for supporting them.

Was talking with one of my very lesbian friends about body dysmorphia and how you can look at a fucking gorgeous woman who has a lot of the same qualities as yourself and not realize that the complement also applies to yourself. I asked her if she'd been watching Dancing With The Stars this season and she said no.
So i showed her a picture of Ilona Maher from this week's episode.
Her response:
"Thigh. Thigh. Thigh. Thigh. Thigh."
So anyway, the takeaway here is that one person's 'too masculine' is another person's 'thigh.'

Is Maria Hill the only MCU OG without an origin story, show, D+ series, or movie that looks into her character?
Iron Man had multiple movies
Captain America had multiple movies
Black Widow had a movie and What If episodes
Thor had multiple movies
Hulk had a movie
Coulson got a whole TV series
Hawkeye got a D+ show
Nick Fury got a D+ show
Loki got a D+ show
Bucky got a movie and a D+ show
Peggy Carter got a TV series and multiple What If episodes
MCU introduced a bad ass woman who was a deputy director at like 27 years old of a major spy agency, Nick Fury's number 1, and then never gave a fuck to tell us how she got there or why? Especially when so many people love her and have expressed interest in her story and in stories of humans in the Marvel world. C'mon!!! You are telling me Marvel can make a queer witch coven show from an obscure comics character and NOT dive into to Maria? The Maria disrespect is unreal. (also watch Agatha All Along, it's great btw)
P.S. if you love Maria, miss Maria, or if you need a Maria Hill fix check my ao3 for the Maria Hill Cinematic Universe series (not complete so beware!)
