I recently put up an art show with my friend / collaborator and I am still not over how good it was. We got an art review written about us on a pretty important Texas art review website. We also got recommended as one of the top five shows in Texas for the last week of June. I’ve honestly been so happy about it but I also don’t want to keep talking about it not because I worry about sounding humble or not humble, but because I don’t want to let myself feel too complacent about my work currently. I’ve honestly been feeling like after the show I should make more art but I’ve just been fucking off and making embroidery / fan art. 

It’s always this conversation with myself about whether fan art and craft are as valid as my original work. I can’t stop myself from having that stigma of putting my original work above my fan art and embroidery… because those are for fun and not an intellectual pursuit. But who said anything had to be an intellectual pursuit anyway??? I don’t know why I get so hung up on it. And then I feel bad about it because it’s like I am looking down on people who make fan art, which I don’t, because I enjoy them so much and they are important to me too. It’s just I have a double standard when it comes to myself.

I have this idea that wood nymphs can elongate/shorten any part of their bodies. To help the animals high and low. Because them faeries be muckin around, yo.

Looks like D-98’s challenge is postponed; I’m not imaginative, so when I got “alien w/exoskeleton” my brain broke. Animals with exoskeletons already look like aliens...how can I come up with one that looks more alien?? Ughhh
