{So I’m a million hours late to this, but honestly, I never got it either with Naesala? He’s charming and sly, but literally the only person he ever shows interest in is Leanne. Tibarn here seems like he has more ‘flirtatious’ intentions, but even then, it’s not strongly implied-- not enough to be the playboy sort at least.
Honestly, Nailah is the character who to me appears to have the most sexual undertones, but even then, that’s more like... She just doesn’t give two fucks about it-- she likes it and she’s gon’ tap it... Which is definitely not something in the playboy/flirtatious category-- and even then, it’s only implied, and doesn’t have to be interpreted that way?
It’s 2:40 in the morning. I’m not exactly coherent right now, but basically just because someone is charming doesn’t make them the playboy sort, and the Tellius games are pretty careful in regards to relationships and such to keep it pretty user safe and friendly I guess?}

“No I sure as hell shouldn’t!” Tibarn’s frown deepened.
“Too many mean people will ruin your lovely complexion, and the crow king’s a... well, crow.”
“Listen, I know I always start riots or foodfights, but everything works out, right?” Right. “That’s because I know what I’m doing.”
“Oh, well, thank you very much, very nice of you. Your vote of confidence is overwhelming.” --airborne-leader

GENERAL
Tumblr media
» NAME: Tibarn » AGE: Around 120-130? » BIRTHDAY:  He’s a Scorpio. So somewhere between Oct 24th- Nov 22nd.
» SPECIES: Hawk Laguz » GENDER: Male » SEX: male » ORIENTATION: bisexual » PROFESSION: Only the best bird king ever.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS » HAIR: dark brown » EYES: gold » SKIN: He’s pretty tan. » HEIGHT: 6′4″ » WEIGHT:  Around 220lbs. (I actually did math for this, go me. )
FAMILY » SIBLINGS: None. He probably wouldn’t play well if he did, tbh. » PARENTS: Tibarn doesn’t actually know his parents. His father was the previous king of Phoenicis, named Makani, but he kept the birth of his child a secret for the sake of his country (explained here). Long story short, Makani was still a part of Tibarn’s life, but Tibarn grew to hate him because he interpreted the man’s actions as a caring father as disrespect towards a worthy warrior.
His mother was named Shaelyn. She was... Not the most maternal of creatures. Cold and hard, with a sharp tongue that didn’t hesitate to cut, she pushed Tibarn often, even if it meant he got hurt. He never knew that she was his mother, but her willingness to believe in him-- even if her way of ‘caring’ was odd-- meant the world to him. Even if he’d never admit it.
The closest thing he has to a known father figure is Lorazieh. The heron king was always fawning over him and reprimanding him when he was growing up.
» GRANDPARENTS: (I’ve literally never thought about it, but they play no role in his backstory.) » OTHER RELATIVES: He considers Janaff and Ulki to be his brothers, and Lotz is held in high regard as well. He took the man’s death hard...
It’s worth noting that the herons too, are family in his book.
» ANY PETS?: He was the sort of kid to collect bugs and frogs to startle Lorazieh and his wife, but other than that, no. Pets are a lot of work, and he doesn’t have the time to devote to it.
SKILLS » PHYSICAL PROWESS: I literally spent more time than I should’ve calculating what the ideal high end muscular ratio/weight for Tibarn’s height would be. This man is ripped. His left hook could kill a man-- literally falcon punch a man to death. When he’s shifted he only hits harder. Don’t mess with him. » ABILITIES: Tibarn can stay shifted all day, kicking ass and taking names. He can outdrink most people (it’s an ability worth noting in Phoenician culture, okay?), and he’s a good leader to his people... Perhaps not the most organized, but he leads them with an even hand. » HOBBIES: Drinking, eating good food, fighting, sky-diving.. And hey, he likes casual sex. It’s pretty common in Phoenicis.
TRAITS —— POSITIVE ——
Tibarn has a strong sense of honor, and while he’s not Soren, he’s got a good head on his shoulders when it comes to battle. All of his actions put his people’s well-being first, even if it utilizes means he doesn’t like. He is strong, proud, and demands respect from all he meets.
——- NEGATIVE ——-
His temper can blind him and lead him to rash decisions. He does not forgive or forget, even when he should, and he never talks about his problems. The weight of the United Bird Tribes is something he insists on carrying alone, even if it’s unhealthy, because he doesn’t want to burden anyone-- because he’s headstrong and prideful.
LIKES
» COLORS: Green (Hates red, incidentally, because that’s what Makani wore.) » SMELLS: fresh meat, home, good alcohol. » FOOD: He likes raw meat above all, along with fruits and berries, and insects too. He does eat fish, but he prefers it cold rather than heated. » DRINKS: Homemade Phoenician booze is the best. » ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES?: Tibarn likes his drinks hard, really hard. He's not about those mixed tutti fruiti drinks, just give him some vodka or whiskey or whatever equivilant they have in Phoenicis.
OTHER DETAILS » SMOKES? Nope » DRUGS?: Probably not. » DRIVER LICENSE?: What’s that? » EVER BEEN ARRESTED?: I feel like in a modern AU he would be... But nobody’s dumb enough to arrest the hawk king.
> Done! Now tag 15 other people to do it!
Are you reading this right now? Have you done this thing yet? No?
Tag, yer it.

The maids that he asked for tea were rather confused-- mostly because he hadn’t requested them to spike it with liquor-- but Tibarn figured that probably wasn’t the best way to greet a beorc guest.
“There’s a nice balcony with a great view of the kingdom just on the other side of the castle.” He said, once the maids had gone on their way. “It’ll be a good place to sit and talk, and you don’t need wings to get there.”
They set of once more down the hall, and Tibarn continued, “As for stretching my offer...” He shrugged, “Eh, I’m a hawk, we generally don’t care about stuff like that, as long as it’s harmless to the kingdom. Besides, I admit I’m curious about you as well-- throwing down your weapon in the middle of a battle is enough to make anyone ask some questions, if you ask me. But I digress-- here we are.”
The stepped out onto the balcony. It was wide, with a tall railing decorated in intricate carvings. They twisted and curved, contrasting with the sharp design of the overall architecture. Simple tables and chairs were scattered here and there, and true to Tibarn’s word, the view beyond was spectacular.
The kingdom spread out below. Stone houses bathed in golden light with hawks dashing between them; the streets were alive with the bustle of shops and children running about, and even beyond the lively scene, the cliffs carved out the horizon, framing the sea that sparkled in the distance.
Tibarn couldn’t help but smirk proudly. “Not bad, is it?”
Elincia nodded at Tibarn, following close behind him. “I understand that very well. After the rebellion, we had to re-distribute the lands of some nobles, and that was messy enough with just one nation involved… I don’t envy you, having to handle three.”
She giggled at his confusion, nodding. “Tea and food is the standard practice at Castle Crimea, at least. I’m sure there are others who might want more ceremony, but I would just like to sit on something that isn’t a moving Pegasus and have some refreshments in the company of a friend.”
“That being said, I did stretch your offer a bit… I have no business ‘in the area’, just a bit of curiosity about your homeland.”

“I’ve kicked a lot of asses in my day, so I could be wrong, but uh... weren’t you killed during the war?” Tibarn raised a brow and shrugged.
“I guess it’s not my business who kept you alive, or for what, just as long as you don’t cause trouble for me or my people. I promised Queen Elincia I wouldn’t kill anyone on her land, and it’d be such a pain to drag you over the border to rip you limb from limb, so let’s not let it get to that again, all right?”

“A vegetarian?!” Tibarn sputtered at Janaff’s remark, pausing in his pursuit of the aforementioned alcohol. “That’s borderline insulting, my friend-- I’d die without meat! I don’t care what Reyson says, it’s too good to give up!”
He tried to imagine himself as a vegetarian, but the image was so silly he laughed and shook his head.
“No, Reyson and Loraizeh worry about our Phoenician ‘partying habits’ ever since that one time we got drunk and made it illegal to keep berries in your pockets on Sunday. It’s like they think we’re irresponsible or something-- but it’s not our fault that had been the one day Ulki decided to drink too.”
It’d been during the celebration of his becoming king-- who wouldn’t have drank for a huge thing like that? It was a one time thing!
Tibarn was still chuckling as he finally pulled out the bottle, pouring them both cups and passing one to Janaff. “Don’t worry Janaff, I humor them, but there are some things that just aren’t going to change, no matter how much they fret.”
“But enough about me. How’ve things been with you? Anything new to report?”
❝ That’s what I thought. You’ve done it for years and it’s not like you would make bad mistakes because of a little alcohol.❞
Janaff laughed, not being able to imagine Tibarn becoming like that. What would he do if his drinking partner was gone? It wasn’t like Ulki was a party animal either.
❝ Ha! Why would a king like yourself have to hide drinks from herons? The next thing you know they’ll turn you into a vegetarian. That would be a sight to see!❞

“Phoenicis is doing fine.” Tibarn said with a shrug. “It’s been a heck of a ride-- adapting to being ‘the united bird tribes. Lots of paperwork and discussions-- all that boring stuff I’m sure you’re familiar with. But we’re getting there.” He ran a hand through his hair.
The plan had been for all the tribes to move in to Serenes forest, but there was debate on where the hunting grounds would be, and many people didn’t want to move from their homes in Phoenicis and Kilvas-- which added a new layer of complications. It was stressful and tedious, but it had to be done.
“I suppose there’s no point in boring you with the details.” Tibarn added, leading the way into Phoenicis hall, “Hell, I don’t like to talk about it if I don’t have to-- I do it enough in meetings-- so uh... I dunno. Let’s have some tea and food or something. Is that what you beorc do? I’m not used to hosting them.”
“And as for your short notice, don’t worry about it.” A raised hand casually waved away Elincia’s apology. “I extended the invitation for you to visit if you’re ever in the area at the end of the war, didn’t I? There’s no need to be formal about it-- what’re friends for?”
Elincia couldn’t help smiling at Tibarn, patting Belleza’s flank as a signal to go graze. “Things have been… stable, for once, which is a welcome change. The religious crisis caused by Ashera’s death has finally subsided in Crimea, and those who sought to exploit the people’s confusion are now dealt with.
I apologize for the short notice of this visit, but I felt the need to take a vacation, away from beorc nobles and their foolishness. How fares Phoenicis? I’m afraid I haven’t had much time for correspondence or international news lately…”

“Hmmmm...” Tibarn crossed his arms. “That is pretty good news--” The extra income would definitely be a boon given the amount of rebuilding they faced with the war over, “--but it still seems strange you’d go out of your way to come all the way up this cliff to tell me. You got a request on where that money goes?”
“Like I said, good news. Some of my men went to explore the silver mines. They’re still viable. I’m not saying it’ll be like the old days, but we can finally start trading again. Kilvan silver is still pretty sought-after.”
And that was good news as long as they were the United Bird Tribes–Kilvas’s profit would be their collective profit. Though he did hope that as much of that money as possible would stay in Kilvas to rebuild with.

“Ah yes, my favorite little beorc queen. And also the craziest.” Tibarn chuckled. He’d heard that women were crazy, but Elincia took the cake in his book. Between her and Ike, he was starting to wonder if it was simply a beorc thing.
“How’ve things been?”

“What’s wrong with having a little fun? You live longer by being happy, right? Besides, it’s no fun if my drinking partner suddenly decides that he’s only going to drink water.”
“You don’t live at all if you’re not happy.” Tibarn pointed out, shrugging. “And water?! Ha! The day I say I give up drinking is the day you know your king is an imposter!” He almost wondered if Janaff himself had had something to drink, to say something so ludicrous.
“Actually, speaking of, I’ve got a nice bottle of... Something foreign-- hell if I can pronounce the name-- hidden in my office. The herons haven’t found it to hide it on me yet.”
