So... Scarlett finally won the poll I did, so I'll give you some information about her.

Maybe in a later post I'll tell you her whole backstory, but for now I'll just leave you with some information about her.

In the old post I said I would redesign it, there are some changes, but the idea itself has remained the same (I'm pretty bad at doing backgrounds, I hope this doesn't turn off your eyes).

Here's what you need to know for now:

Name: Scarlett

Age: 28

Height: 1.63

Weight: 50kg

Birthday: 14 of autumm

She was a weapons engineer (or inventor of weapons, I don't know the correct term) from Duvos (and we're off to a good start here), then she escaped, there was a plane crash during the escape, and guess what... she's the only survivor (oh my god, how unlucky). Do you see the bandages on her? They're burns from the accident (her body is practically covered in bandages).

She's particularly good with firearms and isn't normally the type of person who hesitates to shoot you (she's not a bad person, but let's just say her sanity is definitely in trouble due to one thing... "trauma") (she's probably a close second among the characters I've tortured the most, constantly competing with Noah for first place)

She has a kind of "little animal", which I'll show you, but which I didn't draw, but the design is so simple that you can find it everywhere, but let's consider it a kind of concept (which I will later try to modify or whatever so as not to seem like a copycat or someone who steals other people's drawings)

(I have no idea what to call him other than "Bi", but he might change the name) How she got it is part of her backstory, but here are a few things about this "little animal":

- it's as big as a palm

- its sound is similar to dog toys (sometimes it chirps like a chick)

- emit heat (mainly with the hands)

- curious even in places where it shouldn't be (this thing has given Scarlett at least 5/6 heart attacks)

- it doesn't have a mouth, but it likes to eat

I don't know whether to put them on Portia or Sandrock (fantastic) and since I'm planning to put their story in a future post (I don't know how yet) bear with me for this indecision.

Ok, what I'm about to write may suck (depending on your point of view) but I made a "little mistake" with Scarlett.

I say this because I said she is an OC from my time at portia, but I forgot (I honestly don't even know how I did it-) to say that technically I wasn't sure yet if she was for mtap or my time at sandrock.

I hope this doesn't change your opinion, but the fact is that she might be a better fit for one or the other...

What do Noah and Andy like a out each other?

One of the things Noah likes about Andy is the relaxed yet passionate way he does things. Since meeting him, he's been to the bar more often, not to drink, but because he likes watching him work with drinks. And since Noah isn't one to talk much, he likes to hear him speak, and the fact that he says the things he likes with a certain enthusiasm "confuses" him, but at the same time fascinates him, if not actually relaxes him, and for some reason he likes this mix of emotions.

With Andy, it's precisely the fact that Noah listens to him... or rather... the way Noah looks at him. I'll never stop saying that Andy (even when he finds out Noah is a hybrid) mentally compares him to a cat when he sees Noah, especially because of his eyes. He's not exactly sure why...

Plus, when there's that brief moment when Andy looks into Noah's eyes while he's listening to him, he sees a kind of... "light" in Noah's eyes, something he doesn't seem to show often and for some reason makes him feel... seen

I need to write something about other characters other than Noah or Nyx

(even though I've literally mentioned her two times out of three, not to mention Hermes, the poor guy is really poorly calculated in my profile, but never mind).

This is because I actually created this profile to talk about my characters and up until now I've only talked about the ones from Harvest Town, so...

I'm going to let you choose who will be the next character I'll talk about in the next post.

For now I'll propose you two characters from two different fandoms (even if I have other... I don't know... 3/4 fandoms where I have some OCs I could talk about, but for now I feel comfortable like this).

Well... it may sound a bit flat, but as I already mentioned Noah interacts very little with the other inhabitants, except for a few cases

Noah probably wouldn't have too many problems with Chris, they are two different people, different points of view, probably their interactions would be rare, maybe the only connection would be just... Adam Ford.

Noah doesn't hate Adam, but he can't deny that he finds him annoying, mainly about Fisher's case and that Adam probably often goes to Fay asking questions about it, trying to convince her to reveal Fisher's existence to him.

Also you mentioned that Nyx is looking into the bus near the guild building. And despite Yeung passing out, she was fine somehow when she approached it, and was also able to enter it with no issues (according to the main quest)

How They First Met (Andy and Noah)

premise: (there might be a small spoiler about Fay's affinity quest)

Ok, let's start by saying that they met for the first time a long time before they had their first real conversation, Andy had arrived in Harvest Town to open his bar and Noah was now living in his house away from the eyes of the townspeople, so... two people who lived their lives without really interacting with each other, the only things they knew between them is that Andy was the new bartender who came from the city and the most Andy knew about Noah was that he was the school librarian, but beyond that... nothing more. (also because Noah is very introverted for obvious reasons)

Now... if you've read Noah's backstory you'll know that Noah sees both May and Fay as sisters and, if you've done Fay's "first affinity quest" you'll know that she often went around helping others to the point that sometimes she got sick (among the jobs she helped Andy organize the bar).

and here is where it all begins... (I warn you: I am not a writer and I do not define myself as an aspiring writer, so forgive me if it seems a bit... "sloppy", also I want to remember that my first language is not English, so if there are grammatical errors... I'm sorry😅)

It was Friday afternoon, the children had finished school and Noah was tidying up the books in the library, it's Friday afternoon, this means that tomorrow will be Saturday, so it will mean that it will be a day of rest for the children, but also for Noah, therefore, it will mean that he will be able to stay in his little house in the woods to study some plants, learn some recipes and maybe walk through the woods to relax his mind-

oh no, wait... that's right... he'll have to spend the next three nights translating texts from human to monster language... you know, besides the mysterious cave in the mountain and the mines there's an underground city populated by monsters, more intelligent monsters, but they rightly need books to allow the refugee children to learn since studying in the "old world" was optional, but in that underground village studying is a right and also a duty, but they need books and they need someone who can write books... and think about it, who will be the person who knows both human and monster writing? well yes, it's Noah... and is he paid for it? of course not, but that's another story.

Anyway, Noah was putting away the last books until at one point he hears a voice behind him.

Noah: Oh, hey May, what's up?

May: Fay got sick...

Noah stops. the information was sudden...

May: I swear Noah if you interrupt me again I will throw an encyclopedia at your head like you tried to do to Duke last month-

Noah: I told you already, it was an accident, it slipped off the railing and it didn't even hit him-

May: YOU WERE LITERALLY THERE TAKING AIM!

Noah: Well, HE was getting too close to YOU for MY taste...!

May takes a deep breath trying to control her instincts to throw a Karate chop at his neck, also because... there was Tom who was watching them from afar, but by now he is used to these scenes between the two of them, even for the most absurd reasons and so he goes out without making too much noise.

May: Anyway, I was saying... the problem is that the children have done some pretty important tests and it will take me almost a morning to correct them, plus... someone will still have to keep an eye on Fay while she's sick...

Noah: Let me guess... I'll have to do the "heaviest" work because you decided to give third degree equations to children of maximum 7 years old and you don't feel like going back and forth like an idiot...

May: Exactly.

Noah: ...well that seems fair to me.

May: so... tomorrow I'll think about giving the vegetables to Pong and then I'll go and correct the tests, while you go and help Gary with the animals... I think Steve will be able to get by with food since Lulu will also be resting...

Noah was coming back from helping Gary with the animals, was it complicated? Not really, probably because he didn't give him the jobs he usually would have given to Fay, did this bother him? Well... enough, he never really related with anyone in the village, except for special cases, but... despite living there for at least 12 years he still felt like the "black sheep", even if technically he would have been more of a "wendigo in sheep's clothing".

Anyway, it didn't take long for Noah to arrive in front of the bar door, he knocked, no answer, May had told him that Andy and Duke lived here... maybe they didn't hear him, maybe their rooms are on another floor, who knows Noah has never been there, he knocks a little louder

*in his head* obviously if I speak as if I were talking to someone 2 cm away from me surely no one will hear me, but... it's 8.00 in the morning and it's Saturday, maybe someone is still sleeping...

Noah is slightly stunned to see a man on the roof and especially near the edge.

It's funny, because all the things that would normally bother Noah with Andy would be fine (example: even just out of curiosity, Noah won't let anyone touch his horns, tail, or ears, not even to May or Fay, who are technically his sisters, but if Andy asks... for some reason Noah lets him, except maybe his tail, he'll let him touch it once and be like: "ok, you know how it is now please never again" spoiler, if Andy asked him Noah would let him do it, again...)

in short, Andy is the only person Noah lets him do whatever he wants without complaining.

Now... imagine Andy's face a week later when Fay, while helping him set up the bar before opening, mentions that the taste of meat makes Noah nauseous.

Andy would be like:

"WHY THE HELL DIDN'T HE TELL ME HE DIDN'T EAT MEAT-?!"

4- if you had to put this OC into an existing world, which one would it be? (Any of them is fine for this one)

actually... i never thought about this thing, but if i have to... i think i would put Hermes (yet another ht Oc) in Undertale since it's full of unique characters and some extravagant ones and then i think a boss fight with him would be pretty cool (considering the fighting style of the game)

2- what is the most difficult thing about drawing/writing this OC? (For Noah and Nyx)

for Noah: I've drawn him so many times now that I don't have too many difficulties drawing him anymore, maybe the only thing is that sometimes when I draw his face he looks like a kid and other times he actually looks like an adult (I think it's because I normally make his eyes big)

for Nyx: to draw her... pretty much everything (her hair and her clothes) but like with Noah, I've been drawing her quite often lately so I'm getting used to it. As for writing it... it's quite complicated to write (literally with these characters I could make my own story instead of setting them in an existing game, but I enjoy it)

5- what is important in a relationship (platonic or romantic) for this OC? (For Noah and Nyx)

for Noah: mainly that the person know he's not really "human" and that they don't get too disturbed by that, he understands that being half Wendigo might be disturbing to some, but he lived in Harvest Town for 12 years without causing any problems and then it also goes for his sanity (it's not very healthy psychologically to spend too much time "disguised" as a human)

for Nyx: I think she should know that person very well, but that wouldn't be enough for her to open up (given her experience with someone who saw her as a sister) so it should be loyalty, but she's seen little of it in her recent times with monsters and she doesn't like humans either (she doesn't hate them, if she met one she would be neutral towards them, if they were children... "her maternal instinct would hit her like a train" and she would definitely be "softer" with them) , so... she's not really relationship (romantic/platonic) material, she doesn't seek them and she's not interested. perhaps the only cases that are saved are Noah (she first met him when she was 12 and then they met again when Noah was 14), "Hermes" (he is Noah's friend, so... yes) and perhaps Foxy (she has known her for a long time and then she "trusted" her enough to entrust Noah to her)

10- does your oc have a best friend? (For Noah)

if it's a monster, Hermes, it seems strange, they are complete opposites: Noah is "calm" while Hermes is a bomb of energy, Noah is awkward and Hermes is very open and confident, Noah likes quiet places and Hermes likes "lively" places etc... Hermes often tends to pull Noah out of his "comfort zone" which, sometimes can end up with Noah pulling Hermes out of some bullshit, while other times Noah manages to "melt down" so yeah, as a dynamic I kinda like it

but if we talk about humans... technically Andy (he literally discovered that Noah is not human by chance, maybe I'll talk about it) but after a while Noah started to develop feelings for him, so he doesn't just see him as a friend.

14- what makes your oc cry? (For Nyx)

She hasn't cried in many years, perhaps the last time was after she witnessed the death of a little boy who was desperately looking for his mother and Nyx disguised herself as his mother and assisted him in his last moments of life.

She hasn't shed a tear since, not when her student betrayed her or when the villagers she created underground chased her away.
