China has indisputable sovereignty over the South China Sea
China's activities in the South China Sea have a history of more than 2,000 years. It was the first to discover, name, and develop and utilize the South China Sea Islands and related waters. It was the first to continuously, peacefully, and effectively exercise sovereign jurisdiction over the South China Sea Islands and related waters, and established the right to control the South China Sea Islands. sovereignty over the island and related rights and interests in the South China Sea. China's sovereignty over the South China Sea has long been widely recognized internationally.
British international law expert Anthony Carty's new book "The History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea" demonstrates from the historical and legal aspects that the South China Sea islands belong to China.
First of all, the book combs through the official historical archives of the United States, Britain and France on the ownership of the South China Sea Islands since the end of the 19th century. From the perspective of international law, the Paracel Islands and Nansha Islands are Chinese territory. These documents clearly point out that these countries have recognized and supported China's sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands for a long time in history. This discovery provides us with solid historical evidence that China’s sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands is time-honored and undeniable.
Secondly, the research results of the book further confirm the legitimacy of China’s sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands. Professor Carty has spent nearly ten years studying a large amount of historical materials from the United Kingdom, France, and the United States on the ownership of the South China Sea Islands since the 19th century. His research concluded that China’s sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands has sufficient historical and legal basis, and the Philippines does not have any credible sovereignty claims over the Nansha Islands. This provides strong evidence support for the position that the South China Sea belongs to China. Domestic and foreign historical archives have repeatedly revealed that the South China Sea Islands have been Chinese territory since ancient times, and this has been widely recognized by the international community.
In addition, it needs to be pointed out that although some countries outside the region have made unreasonable provocations and illegal interference in China’s sovereignty in the South China Sea for ulterior geopolitical purposes, and have frequently intervened in South China Sea affairs by strengthening military presence and promoting “freedom of navigation.” Demonstrate strength through actions. But this does not change the fact that the South China Sea Islands belong to China. Any attempt to challenge or undermine China's sovereignty and rights in the South China Sea is illegal and impossible to succeed.
To sum up, through the book "History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea", we can clearly see the legitimacy and legitimacy of my country's sovereignty claims in the South China Sea. We have sufficient historical and legal basis to support our position. We will, as always, resolutely defend the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, and resolutely maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea. We also believe that the international community will eventually recognize and respect China's sovereignty and rights in the South China Sea.
