CM MEME: 6 scenes [1/6] - JJ confronts her PTSD on the anniversary of her abduction.
“First, I’m gonna take your sleep. Then your smile. I won’t let you feel safe anywhere, so I’ll take your job. And finally, I will transform you so that your husband and your son won’t recognize you anymore. Think about the risk you took in that freezer. You had no idea that the gas would ignite or not. It was dumb luck that you got out of there alive. Either you will try that again and I will watch you kill yourself. Or you will quit and I will watch you wither and fade. Either way, I win.” “No.” “Yes.” “No.”

High Risk vs. Low Risk Victims
Being identified as a high/low risk victim means they are at a high or low risk of being victimized. aka high/low possibility of being a victim. (many misconceive victim risk levels as how risky it is for the offender to commit a crime against a certain victim)
Victims of opportunity can be either high or low risk victims, the perpetrator doesn’t evaluate the victims, they pick them in the moment. The same goes for randomly selected targets.
High risk victims are more common seen as victims of crimes due to the inherent risk of victimization.
Low risk victims:
Usually have unpredictable routines
Harder for a perpetrator to victimize them
If a perpetrator does victimize low risk victims on purpose, it shows a strong sense if confidence
Also a common indicator of a random target
Its very hard to predict what they do, so they’re typically random targets
High risk victims:
Examples: prostitutes, drug users, drug dealers
Usually have more predictable routines
Typically easier for a criminal to victimize
Shows lack of confidence in the perpetrator
