I got a bunch of Hello Kitty outfits from Walmart and had to put my trio of friends in them.
I also found these cute tiny Hello Kitties too (along with a Kuromi, Cinnamonroll, and Pompompurin), they're from the same company making the tiny doll sized Cars Bears (and a bunch of tiny Stitches too). I DID remake one tiny Kitty into her twin sister Mimmy, just spot the one with the bow on her right side lol. The bigger kitties I had for years haha.

After school, Addy often helps Mrs. Golden with the chores at the boarding house. Today is laundry day! She changes out of her school clothes into her blue work dress and green gingham apron.
This is my own rendition of Addy's work dress set, which is hard to find and expensive secondhand. I've had the fabric for a while now. I looked at close-up photos of her apron and noticed that the gingham has blue stripes woven into it, so I copied the look by stitching lots of rows of blue thread before assembling it and sewing it up.
I even included the three little clothespins, similar to the peg clothespins that originally came with Addy's dress. Mine are from the craft section at Dollar Tree. Her metal laundry tub was a thrift store find.

Back in August I was hoping to find a way to do the braided hairstyle Addy was shown wearing in her catalog Stilting Outfit photo, and someone in one of my Facebook doll groups saved the day by linking the official Pleasant Company instructions! It took me FOUR tries, and each try took about 3 hours apiece, but I finally got it — not perfectly, but good enough to leave it alone 😅
If anyone’s wondering about my process, I mainly followed the instructions, though I also ended up bobby pinning the left of the two larger braids to her head (because the only way I could figure out how to make those two an even thickness was by using some hair from the left side for her right braid, but then the left braid was hanging oddly).
Also, you can see how bad my Addy’s wig is in these photos… there’s so many flyaways! I'm debating replacing it eventually.

Weekend crafting
i went looking for a 1:48 scale Victorian dollhouse for Samantha, but the kits are ridiculously expensive. And I'm not sure if I'm talented enough to put it together. So, for now, I printed out a façade instead on cardstock and slapped it on a box I had. We now have an opening dollhouse for <$5.
I printed out wallpaper, rugs, and flooring and want to separate the box into three floors but didn't get that far yet.
Thanks for modeling, Claudie!

Sierra doesn't mind being asked to help look after her baby sister Elena. She's so sweet and cute, even when she's asleep.
My mini Berenguer babies fit perfectly into this little wicker cradle I found at a doll show last month.
They're all dressed in clothes I made, and have little magnetic binkies that I bought just for them. These are Honeybug cutie pie pacifiers. I put small magnets inside the babies' heads to keep the binkies attached.

A comparison of two Camille dolls. I found the one on the left at a thrift store a few years ago, and the one on the right at a different thrift store very recently. They look like completely different dolls! Their wigs are the only parts that are basically identical. I decided I preferred the one on the right and so I'm keeping her.

I said I was done sewing until we were finished moving. ... Well my hands got twitchy so I decided to keep working through my fabric stash 😂 Finished this little Minnie Mouse dress!!! (I wasn't 100% on the print when I bought it but I think it's actually pretty cute now!)
Next project on my list is a Mickey Mouse outfit for Luna, I thought matching outfits for the two of them would be sweet! 💙

Sorry, I meant to post it here, but got posted on my main lol. Whoops.
So my friend @agrosehamada gifted me Disney Animator dolls of Cinderella and Lilo. They were TLC, mostly good condition, but messy hair and a few scratches and scrapes. So I was able to clean them up pretty easily, and then I took care of their hair. First I brushed them out using a hairbrush and a "doll hair" solution (it's a spray bottle with a tablespoon or two of fabric softener and then fill the rest with water. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this for American Girl hair (it could ruin or dry it out), or My Life As dolls (makes it sticky and clingy), but it works for detangling other doll's hair). However, the hair poofed up and was still frizzy (especially Cindy), so I decided to boil wash them. I've done this before with American Girls.
This is how Lilo turned out. It's still somewhat frizzy at the end, but it still looks really nice, and since I took this picture, the ends of it looks better the more I brush it it seems. Also, I suspect her hair is cut, but she still looks really cute (I just love the Lilo Animator doll in general, she looks like the cartoon came to life and I love it)
In addition to boil washing her hair, I also boil curled it, and then I styled it a little when I let her curls down. She ends up really cute, and I love it so much! I was a little nervous about curling her bangs, but they turned out beautifully.
But yes, I'm in love, and they're so cute, and the fact that 1, they were gifted by my close doll friend, and 2, that I took care of them, it makes them extra special to me. Maybe I'll look out for more Animator dolls in the future (gateway dolls lol).

Mari is walking to the library with her older sisters. She is bundled up in her warm jacket, woolen mittens, and her pixie hat. She gets to carry home her library books in her little strawberry purse.
While snowbound, I made a few pixie hats for my baby and toddler dolls.
I found a template on Pinterest and reduced it in size to fit their little heads. It's 100% wool, and the appliqued leaves and acorn are felt. I used burgundy satin ribbon to finish the edges. I also made her jacket, pants, mittens, and purse to match with the pixie hat.
For the strawberry purse, I looked at some pictures of similar things and drew my own pattern. It isn't sewn together at the top so she can fit her books inside.
Mari is an 11 inch Llorens toddler doll, perfectly sized to be a little sister to my 18 inch dolls.

Léonie Belanger-Leblanc is a dear little friend and a girl after my own heart. She understands the spirit of adventure. She's always ready to explore the unknown; to see what's around the riverbend, what's behind the mountaintop, and what's over the horizon. Her curiosity about the natural world is never fully satisfied, because there's always more to discover.... just beyond.
Léonie observes the world around her and listens to the stories it tells her. She's ever willing and excited to learn more.
I don't live in Canada like Léonie, but I appreciate the love she has for Canadian culture and geography, just like all Maplelea girls do. And I'm glad Maplelea exists as a counterpart to American Girl. Often it seems that American culture dominates every aspect of life even outside of the United States, so it's good to know that Canadian kids have dolls and toys to reflect their own lives and cultural experiences.
I've explored this particular canyon many times before, but it changes so much through the seasons that there's always something new and unexpected to see. In winter it's often snowy and the creek is icy. In spring it's muddy and the trees are turning green. In early summer it's shady and lush, and in late summer the creek is full of monsoon rain. In autumn the oaks and willows show beautiful colors.
It was especially fun to see it through Léonie's eyes. For children, ordinary things are new and exciting.
When Léonie gets bundled up into her warmest clothes, nothing can stop her from an adventure. The snow is perfect for snowshoeing, and she has me check the ice to make sure it was safe to be on it. She usually prefers to play hockey when the creek freezes, but today she's just happy to skate.
Léonie's outfit, like Léonie herself, is Maplelea brand. Her ice skates are American Girl and her snowshoes are Our Generation.
