Bathroom Mirror Decorating Ideas
GILDED CHANDELIER
A sculpture by Louise Bourgeois overlooks a bath in French architect Jacques Grange's Paris apartment. The chandelier is 19th-century; the tub, sink, and faucet are by L'Epi d'Or and the marble floor is based on a pattern.
LOW-HANGING LAMP
Designer Darryl Carter generates a master bath that is true to his Virginia farmhouse's origins by employing a simple lamp he made for the Urban Electric Co., a sink vanity made out of an oak table, and a slender mirror that sits in the front of the chimney.
UNDERSTATED CEILING LIGHT
Understated lighting appeals to the minimum aesthetic of this bathroom in a contemporary Washington, D.C. house designed by Darryl Carter. The dressing table hides drawers for storage.
VINTAGE ITALIAN CHANDELIER
The master bath of Alice Childress and Christopher Daniels's downtown Manhattan loft, designed with the help of Courtnay Daniels Haden, includes a vintage Italian chandelier, a classic freestanding marble bathtub, along with an inherited 18th-century painting. The custom made vanities are outfitted with Caesarstone countertops and Kohler sinks; the sink and tub fittings are by Barber Wilsons & Co.
CANDLE SCONCES
From the guest bath of the Los Angeles farmhouse, a chair is upholstered in the California state flag, the sink and fittings are by Waterworks, the custom wallcovering is by Nathalie Lété, and the door is painted in Farrow & Ball's Studio Green.
