Elevation of the House of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers & Commerce, Situated in John Street, Adelphi
London: 1775. Engraving by T. Vivares. Designed by Robert and James Adam.
Photo from Donald A. Heald Rare Books.
The building still exists.
The Adams' work influenced Charles Bulfinch, who designed the Tontine Crescent in Boston. This is the central pavilion of the Tontine Crescent, which was built in 1793-95 and razed in 1858.
