Our Campervan trip to Denmark and Legoland Billund
During a brief respite during the Covid Pandemic in 2020 we took a break and drove to Denmark. It was an amazing experience and I am glad I was able to blog about it.

DISNEYLAND PARIS ON A BUDGET
It is the last day of our Disneyland trip. I am glad I did this without breaking the bank so I would like to share all the wonderful tips I gathered along the way.
✴Before you go
✅Before booking a hotel & ticket package. check the reviews of the hotel if it is not a Disney hotel on Trip advisor. This will save you a whole lot of grief as some packages are not refundable if you find out you have booked a crap hotel.
✅ Also know the kind of tickets they are offering for the Disneyland Parks. You see Disneyland Paris has 2 parks the Disneyland park and the Walt Disney Park. In my case I had one park per a day. So I could only go to Disneyland or Walt Disney Studios. Which was ok for me until my daughter found out the "Descendants dance show" was in the Disneyland park on the day that we were doing the Walt Disney Studio visit😅 and we couldn't go. I was even willing to pay extra to go but I couldn't do it on my package unless I paid full price for the other park so better get a package that allows you to go to both parks each day.
✅There are a variety of sites with great deals so it is best to shop around. I will put links in the comment section.
✅You can also book directly from the Disneyland website. It is a good idea to listen to youtubers to have an idea what to book on the Disney website because can be a little confusing
✅I would say go for a cheap deal the first time around because Disneyland is somewhere you would love to come to again and you cannot get everything perfect the first time around. This will help you know what you want without spending a fortune and being bitter and not getting the experience you want. Then you can do it again the way you would want because no youtuber, website or article can give you the full picture.( However if you can get an affordable booking in the disney village the better. Entering the park with ease, cutting transportation cost since most are just walking distance have shuttle services and also Magic hour( whlist the parks opens at 10 for those in the resort they get to the Parks at 8:30)
✅Plan before you go so you can get the best experience. You can download the App which is really useful. Here is a website that describes how to.use the App.
https://www.mousehacking.com/blog/disneyland-paris-app
Use the website to check out the shows. Watch youtubers with tips and what they did.
Here are just some of my favourite youtubers for disneyland

✅October & Halloween is a good idea. You don't have the summer rush and parks stay open longer but beware of tired feet, pace yourself and take note of the attractions that are open late so you can do the ones that do not and leave the ones that won't till later.
✴Prepping for your trip
✅What to pack
●Pack snacks but pack light. Your backpack needs to fit in ride so a small size back is ideal (not tiny) Also you don't want to be carrying the whole world on your shoulders doing all that walking.
Here are some idea of snacks. Because sometimes you can draw a blank with all that planning
•Nuggets
•Small Meat pies
•Spring rolls
•Sausages
•Meaty Sandwiches
•Cakes
•Crisps
•Nuts
•Chicken pieces
•Meat balls
•Energy drink / booster / coffee but don't drink it early
•Tiny meals. There are a lot of eating spaces and some of the Fastfood/Counter Service restaurants have microwaves
● Here is an idea of what I packed in my backpack.
•Money and ID (you will need that if you have booked a package)
•Drinks mini ones
•Water bottle (you can refill at the various water stops)
•Snacks and fruits
•Rain poncho
•Wipes, tissue and deodorant
•Plaster and painkillers
•Phone/power bank
•Rubber bands
(I packed a change of clothing and a towel but I didn't need that. There are no water rides and my child didn't need it. )
✅Again don't forget to download app you can use it in Disneyland as it has great Wifi
✅ I can't stress this enough watch YouTube tips. First time experiences, mistakes first timers make, Tips hacks etc.
✅Disney has strong wifi but no place to charge your phone. Perhaps investing in a power bank, extra battery will be helpful.
✅If you are living outside the Disneyland village it would be nice to learn a few phrases in French.Perhaps to ask for train connections etc It is not necessary in Disneyland because everyone is nice enough to speak English.
✅Please for the love of God! Pack comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes. I wore body control on the first day I don't know who I was trying to impress. I felt very very oppressed don't let me even start on my head squashing but pretty new wig🙈😅😂 But still dress up a little bit especially the little girls.
✅When planning decide what you want to prioritize. Is it rides? Meeting Characters?Shows? Food? That will help you make most of your time. If meeting characters is what your child loves then you can see information on the banner on what time what character will be where. At the Walt Disney Studio character meetings need to be reserved online. You can also buy a book at their shops for €9.00 where the kids can collect signatures and add the pictures of their favourite characters.
If you would like to enjoy the food.Note for buffet restaurants and Table Service restaurants reservations need to be made in advance.
✴On the day
✅Check park closing times on the website so if u need to prepare longer.
✅Set off early if you don't book any of the disney hotels and resorts. Even if you are on your second and third day and you think you want to relax because the hassle of the lines getting in is just misery.
✅Also the train RER A can delay remember you are not the only one going to Disneyland, even it is not peak season workers etc are also going. On our first day we set of early but there was a 1hr train stoppage due to unusual traffic on the as well as bus lines. I was really happy for once that we set off so early and despite the delay we where able to enter easily also our voucher/ticket didn't validate from the machine so we joined the line which was short but when I decided to take it easy the second day and arrive at exactly 10 when the Park opens it took us 1 hr to enter the park.
✅Fast passes are so important it can help you bypass the lines at the attractions. Here is a link to tell you how the fast passes at Disneyland works.
*2022 update ( I hear the fast passes are no more available you have to book the priemer access pass on the app : here is the link about that info: https://www.dein-dlrp.de/en/disneyland-paris-holiday/services/disney-premier-access.html)
✴ Saving Money tips
✅Food is expensive a kids meal at the fast food/Counter restaurants will cost €8.00. A menu starts at €13.00. Pack snacks if you have a big family it is particularly helpful when they need to snack in the long lines.
✅Avoid the souvenir shops till close of day. Most shops are open even after the parks are closed. It will also give you more time to visit the park attractions.
✅Disney ears minne mouse ears are a thing! You can buy it before you go and give it to your child on the day of the visit. So you are not harassed to go to the shop. Online you can get it cheap but at the Park it will cost you 23 Euro. In general, you can get some Disney products and give it to your children on the day of the Park visit or at the Park.
All in all Disneyland is a magical experience with or without all these planning and tips.
