Hm m mmm! @thissurprisinglyisnttaken
While I'm talking about social stuff I had to learn as an autistic person
There's a LOT of social interactions between human beings whose purpose really boils down to being like that thing dogs do where they go "omg YOU'RE a dog??? I'M a dog!!!!!" And that's not a bad thing. Highly ritualized "meaningless" displays of human connection like friendly greetings and talking about things like weather actually do serve a purpose which is like idk ritualized displays birds do. YOU'RE a human? Omg I'M a human!!!! Wow!!!
And they don't have to be your favorite flavor of interaction. You can even think they're silly. But they DO serve a purpose or else they wouldn't be a thing.

The older you get the more you will realize that your friends are people who have made mistakes and bad decisions and even just fucked up and hurt people.
And obviously your boundaries with your friends are completely up to you but you do need to recognize that if you cut off everyone who has done something wrong, you’re going to end up with no friends (and you yourself will have also fucked up in your life, and not lived up to those impossible standards either).
I’ve found it’s much more constructive to learn how to say “hey dude, that was massively fucked up of you,” because most people are really willing to say “yeah, it was, I need to work on it/not do it again/apologize and make things right” ESPECIALLY if they are hearing it from you as their friend.

I do this IRL too. If I tell you goodnight at 9:00PM it's because I am fully aware you will go to sleep before I do. My goodnight isn't that I am going to sleep, but that I don't expect to see you again until the next day.
Bitches be like ‘I’m so tired and sleepy’ and then stay up doing hyperfixtation shit for the next 5 hours
#I feel called out#mission failed#we'll get em next time#awkwardly seeing eachother in the kitchen at 2:00AM looking for snacks

I know Dracula is the bad guy of Castlevania and all, but if some zealous Christians showed up at my home and horribly murdered my wife because she did medicine too good I too would probably have gone absolutely fucking feral

Sky-Watching
I lie in the grass, feeling the gentle caress of the breeze and watching the stars overhead. The moon is full, and its gentle yellow light reminds me of the hanging lanterns in Kuwa at the base of the mountain. I like our little village of Shiro better, but I've always been a bit biased. Whichever people prefer, our towns have always been close. Kuwa provides us with a lot of things we can't easily get for ourselves being so far up in the mountains. In exchange, we provide them with raw minerals. They like the metals that we mine up here, especially our silver. What we don't trade away we turn into jewelry. Well, most of the time.
My necklace feels cold against my skin. Gen, on the other hand, is a bundle of warmth curled up against my side. She doesn't mind sky-watching duty, but always ends up falling asleep pretty fast. I don't mind though. I like her company and her presence always keeps me in good spirits. Plus she's adorable when she snores, though she looks mortified whenever I tell her she does. There's no one I'd rather be with, both when it comes to sky-watching and in life.
A shadow flashes by overhead, temporarily blotting out the stars. My heart starts to race as I wonder whether I was imagining it or not. The breeze, which grows stronger for a brief moment, lets me know that it was real. I gently shake Gen, rousing her from her sleep. I feel her start to say something and put my hand over her mouth to cut her off. It's a reactionary movement, a survival instinct that's been instilled in me since before I could understand the need.
One of them is here and it's hunting. Our cloaks have been carefully fashioned to keep us hidden while we're lying down in the grass. They break up the shape of our bodies, helping us blend in so we can watch without being seen. Our village a mere hundred meters away has no walls, instead using the same principle that we base our sky-watching cloaks on. Walls wouldn't do anything to stop one of them. That's why we've opted for obfuscation over common security. Another shadow passes overhead; hopefully, it's the same one flying past again. I pray it hasn't noticed us.
Gen and I can't move. We can't risk being seen. We'll have to stay awake the rest of the night. If possible, we have to try and keep track of the direction it flies off in. In the morning we'll send someone down to Kuwa to make sure they're informed while the rest of us get to work. We'll have to gather up the emergency silver, enough to pay for a band of adventurers to go slay the beast. Despite the situation, I can feel myself smiling. A hundred years of preparations would pay off; our planning would keep us safe. The dragon wouldn't destroy our village again.
