RFA + Saeran and Vanderwood text MC for Fanfic Author Appreciation Day
To all the writers in the fandom - you’re great! Your works are amazing! Thank you for your hard work! <3 The boys and gal love you, and so do I. <3
Masterlist 📜 || Ko-fi ☕ || How to make a writer happy 😊
Hyun Ryu // Zen
Hey, babe! ~
Looks like you have a very special day today.
I’ve always felt it… You and I, we’re both passionate, creative souls.
You put emotions into words and I become the outlet for this energy.
We make a great team, don’t you think, babe? ~ Hahaha!
Ahhh, maybe one day I’ll get to play one of your characters on stage…
Awwwwooo, just thinking about it makes me so excited!
Say, you’ll practice with me when that day comes, won’t you, babe? ~
Yoosung
Fanfic author appreciation day…?
Oh, then that means you have a reason to celebrate today!
Happy fanfic author appreciation day, honey!
Oh, I know!
Let me make you your favorite dish, hehe ~
Do you mind if I call you and talk to you while I cook?
You can tell me all about the story you’re working on right now, hehe~
I’ve always loved the way you describe your characters.
Hmm, now that I think about it, there’s something I wanna ask you, but it’s a bit embarrassing…
Have you maybe based a character on me?
Jaehee
Happy fanfic author appreciation day, MC!
I’ve always known you’re passionate about writing, but I’ve never had the chance to read any of your stories.
Do you think you can let me read a few of them now since it’s a special occasion?
Ah, I’d better make some coffee.
There’s nothing quite like enjoying a good read while you drink freshly brewed coffee.
Mmm, if I had to describe it, I’d say it’s like your soul is having lunch.
The good story fills your mind with food for thought, while the coffee’s strong scent fills your body with energy.
In that sense, I think it’s safe to say writing is one of the most noble jobs.
It feeds the soul.

<– DAY 2 ll DAY 4 —>
Day 3: Teddy Bear ll Vacation
Can you believe it’s day three already!? I struggled quite a bit with the initial sketch of this one but now I’m actually really happy with how it turned out? The coloring definitely did wonders this time around.
My initial plan was to draw for the prompt ‘Vacation’ and have a Disneyland setting but drawing a Disneyland-inspired background was beyond my current skill level so I went with the other prompt in the end. > <
Who needs an actual teddy bear when you have a soft girlfriend in a teddy bear onesie??

Masterlist 📜|| AU/Fanfiction Trope Prompt List 📝 || Ko-fi ☕
Saeran + “Coffee Shop AU” (bonus: strawberry shortcake)
Having recently graduated from college, Saeran struggles to find a job that can keep his heart and wallet full.
Yeah, he’s good at Math and programming and many companies are willing to pay him a lot more than they’d usually pay a recent graduate with zero experience, but he just isn’t happy working in an office.
He even tried working on personal projects from the comfort of his home, but alas, it left him with nothing but frustration and confusion.
This is when his good friend Jaehee rides in on a white horse, offering a helping hand.
Being a few years older than him, she has recently figured out what makes her happy and what she wants to do with her life.
Opening and maintaining her own cafe hasn’t been easy, but she’s not one to back down in the face of challenge.
Still, she can’t do everything on her own, so she offers Saeran a part-time job that he immediately accepts.
Jaehee has known Saeran for a while now and even though they aren’t best buddies, they hold immense respect for each other.
That’s why she’s not surprised when he turns out to be quite diligent at what he does.
She tries not to give him too many time- and energy-consuming tasks, because, after all, he’s still new at working at a coffee shop, but he proves to be a fast learner and a hard worker.
In reality, Saeran finds himself absorbed in all these new sensations that come with his new job.
The slight embarrassment when he has to greet costumers and take their orders, the joy their smiles fill his heart with, the feeling of going on an adventure every time he’s trying a new recipe…
It’s all magical to him.
It takes him a month to completely get into his groove and he even starts blushing less every time he has to interact with a costumer. But then a fateful encounter sends his carefully built routine into a state of chaos.
He meets you.
Saeran’s always been one to take his costumers’ expressions into account. It’s a way for him to collect data about what people like and what they don’t. He then uses this information to implement changes in the menu. So far that tactic has proven to be quite useful.
But with you… he finds himself studying your every move, every smile, every little quirk…
He’s unable to focus on anyone else but you.
Impressed by the good coffee and service, you quickly turn into a regular costumer.
Every morning at the exact same time you arrive at the coffee shop wearing a dazzling smile that makes Saeran’s knees go weak.
You try to make small talk with him, mentioning the weather and how rainy it’s been lately, a sure sign that fall has come, or how good the pastries and coffee are at Jaehee’s shop.
Being inexperienced at anything love-related, Saeran often can’t find the right words to keep the conversation going despite him wanting it to.
This often results in you leaving sooner than he’d like, something he curses himself for.
But then again, isn’t that for the better?
Saeran tries to pass this as momentary infatuation caused by your kindness, good manners, and radiant smile.
He has a hard time fooling even himself.
But he decides it’s best if he doesn’t take things any further.
There’s no way a gorgeous girl like you would settle for someone like him, with his skinny arms, hair that turned white at a very young age, and a soul that is still searching for a purpose in life…
… Right?
Yet, he can’t find it in himself to act as if he’s indifferent to you.
After a few conversations with you, he’s figured out you adore strawberry shortcake, so now he spends every free moment perfecting the recipe.
In fact, Jaehee is wordlessly supporting him.
Every morning she lets Saeran spend some extra time in the kitchen until he’s satisfied with how his shortcakes turn out to be.
She even orders more fresh strawberries than usual just so he can make the best out of the recipe and sweep you off your feet.
Something tells her that wouldn’t be necessary, though.
There’s something in your eyes that tells her that her friend’s feelings might not be one-sided after all.
Weeks turn into months and Saeran gets used to your presence at the cafe early in the morning. In fact, he can’t even remember a time when you weren’t around and frankly speaking, the thought of not being able to see you even for just a couple of days makes his heart sink.
Of course, it’s precisely then when you stop coming to the shop all of a sudden.
Naturally, Saeran is worried about you, but it gets really bad when you don’t show up for three days straight.
Unable to contact you, he curses himself for not gathering the courage to ask you for your phone number before you so suddenly disappeared.
Fortunately, it doesn’t affect his work, but Jaehee notices his smile is smaller than usual, fake even.
Not just that, he stops making strawberry shortcakes, because it makes him think of you and that only serves to make his anxiety worse.
Did he say something that offended you? Did you grow tired of him? Or even worse, maybe something bad happened to you?
It takes almost two weeks for you to come back with your big smile and a huge knitted scarf wrapped around your neck, your presence lighting up the whole room.
As you make your way through the small crowd of costumers, you wave at Saeran, your movements holding your characteristic fiery enthusiasm and contagious positive energy that he realizes he’s been missing.
“Hey, Saeran! What’s up? It’s been a couple of crazy weeks for me, I’ll tell you that.”
In this moment he feels like nothing has changed, like you’ve always been here, just a few inches away from him.
“Y-Yeah?”
“Yeah, job interviews are really, really tiring. But you know what, I found the perfect job for me and it’s right across the street. You know the flower shop there, right? Oh, the old lady there is a gem! I actually can’t wait to start working there. I guess we’ll be seeing each other more often now.”
Saeran feels red climbing up his neck and onto his cheeks, an involuntary reaction to your words. You’ll be working so close to him and he’ll be able to see you even more often from now on, you said so yourself. That thought alone makes his heart pound like crazy.
“Oh, do you have some strawberry shortcake left? I’m not gonna lie, it’s so good that last night I actually dreamed of it.”
…
Oh, snap.
Of course there’s no strawberry shortcake.
Saeran’s been too busy moping around and overreacting to your absence to actually prepare any pastries, instead burdening Jaehee with that extra work.
“Oh. No, I’m sorry, we’re all out…”
Ok, Saeran, now’s the time. You got it!
“But.. Um, you know, if you don’t mind, I’d love to prepare a couple of strawberry shortcakes after working hours. For you. And one for me. For us to share.”
He’s a blushing, stammering mess, but it’s the most adorable thing ever.
Plus, he’s so proud of himself for gathering the courage to ask you out that he doesn’t care if his face has turned red or blue.
Eyes wide, you look at him for a couple of prolonged seconds until you let a big smile spread across your face.
“That took you a while.”

Love Me as I am [SE Saeran]
(Written in his POV)
I have no recollection of how it all started. All I know... Is that it just happened. Not sure how, not sure why. It just happened.
It all began a year and a half after I started living with my brother, a life I was now slowly trying to fix. My relationship with him became awkward and strained for a short while after he brought me back to sanity from my pit of darkness, but now, I was slowly getting used to things and this new life I was provided.
But one thing prevailed from then until now: being inexplicably socially awkward, a polar opposite to my counterpart. Saeyoung-hyung always plays the happy go lucky card while I often end up playing the quiet and cold card. This became a standard differentiation of our personalities, even if we shared the same physical features, our personalities are in constant contrast.
That was how everyone we know identify us from each other: Perky Saeyoung and Quiet Saeran.
Over and again, always the same.
But now, I often wonder what if I also adapted to his kind of character? Could I have also met a life like his? Or have met someone like her? My brother's happiness with her was now slowly giving me a piece of hope which I never really bothered to consider from before.
Yet how, I can only wonder why I do?
Maybe I am having short circuitry and heavy malfunction inside my central processing unit.... Um, I mean brain.
Sometimes, I even wonder if what noona told me was true. That someone out there was specially molded and made to be my other half. And when I told her that I already have someone as my other half, that being Saeyoung-hyung, all I ever got were giggles and a hearty chuckle in response.
Was my answer wrong? Hyung is another me so he is my other half right?
But thinking about it now, I have come to realize. Noona meant for a special person who will come to my life, see me for who I am, and love me as I am. A person specially meant to be with me.
And as much as I am skeptical about this....
.....it also makes me wish for it coming true....
Can I dare hope?
Hope to meet a person like that?
A person who will embrace me for who I am? A broken soul who is slowly recovering?
What kind of martyr will that person be?
My curiosity becomes boundless
And yet, I can only dare hope.
