South Park Fanfic Rec List!

Here we are once again on Fanfiction Writer Appreciation Day! Because fic writers getting appreciated as much as they should is as rare as a solar eclipse how fitting amirite? This list isn’t much different from the one I had last year but that just means they’ve kept up their appeal which is nothing to knock! And there’s many more great fics out there that I know I missed due to my failure to keep up with my bookmark tab as I read and due to many of my favorite fics being taken down within the last year which is heartbreaking, but it happens. Either way, though. These authors are all so fantastic, and these are ALL fics that I come back to time and again when things are a lil hard irl. They’ve all done so wonderful of a job and they really deserve the world. Probably only like three of the authors mentioned here will see this, but from one writer to another, thank you so much for giving us such wonderful content and know that someone out there thinks the world of you and your work!

Non-authors, take a look-see. See all these guys out there shoveling out content for us? They deserve your kudos’, your comments, your questions about their pieces. They work so hard on these fics, they put so much of themselves into it whether it be a 100K+ multichap or a 1K oneshot. Fanfic authors like these guys deserve every ounce of praise we can manage for never failing to entertain us and share things that they don’t necessarily have to. I know this falls on deaf ears more often than not, but I’m begging you to please give them the recognition they deserve. Authors burn out, and they do so rather easily when their works aren’t embraced by at least someone. Chances are you don’t think about it until you turn around and realize a fic you adored is gone because the writer just couldn’t deal with the silence anymore. If you like a fic, LET THEM KNOW! Even something as simple as a “I really liked this line” or “I love your characterization” means more to a writer than you could ever know.

I preach this time and again even when it’s not this day, but at least this time I have a platform other than my own bitterness. Don’t let fic writers think they’re not appreciated, please. They give us far too much while asking for so little in return.
