Everyone promised I would never be alone again
but everyone expected someone else to be there.
Everyone promised I would always be loved
but everyone excpected someone else to do it.
Everyone promised they would be there
but everyone expected someone else to show up.
Everyone promised they could remember me
but no one expected anything more of me.
Everyone promised they could understand me
but everyone expected something else to be heard.
Everyone promised they could love me
but everyone expected someone else to be me.

I am so tired
I am so tired of waiting for the day
Someone asks me to stay
Waiting for when someone
Notices my absence
Waiting for someone
to call out my lies
when I say I’m alright
When I’m anything but
I’m tired of waiting for a hug
That heals my soul
Tired of waiting for someone
Who says don’t go
Tired of always being the option
Never the chosen
Tired of being seen
As second best
Tired of being dispensable
Of being wallpaper no one cares for,
Tired of listening, when I’m never heard
Tired of trying, but always shunned
Tired of waiting, never waited for,
Always the poet,
But never the poem,
Why, why am I never the poem?

Always the poet, never the poem,
Always the lover, never the loved,
Always a choice, never the chosen,
Always the admirer, never the admired.
Always the worst, never the good,
Always the hurt, with a wound.
Always a secret, always unknown,
Shelter to many, nobody's home.
Always the painter, never the painting,
Always the sculptor, never the sculpture,
Always the writer, never the story,
Always the past, never the future.
Always the artist, never the muse.
Always the disease, never the cure.
But I think it's a privilege to be the poet, or the artist in any other form.
Being a poet is a privilege, a gateway to weave emotions into the fabric of language, turning thoughts into tapestries of verse. Like a master painter with words as colors, a poet has the unique ability to transform the mundane into the magical, capturing the essence of life in mere stanzas. Each poem is a window to the soul, a whisper of the heart's deepest yearnings. This artistry is akin to wielding a magic wand, where metaphors dance and similes sing, creating symphonies from silence. Through this sacred craft, poets touch the very core of human experience, a privilege reserved for those who dare to dream beyond the ordinary.
"I think I was born to be the poet but not the poem, and nothing can be more tragically beautiful."
-a self-declared poet

As I'm getting older, I'm starting to lose my understanding of love. Love used to be more simple and understandable, but now my head cannot really picture it clearly.

“No, I’m not ok. But I haven’t been ok since I was 11, maybe 12. I am still here though. I’m still breathing. For me, sometimes, that will have to be enough.”

I swear what I have now is sufficient. I don't need any trouble for more happiness. Oh but God. I want what they have. A girl who's always wondering if that boy likes her or not. A boy who's clueless about what's the impact for being sweet around her. I swear I never gonna get that feeling anymore. It's gone. It's completely over and never gonna happen anymore.
