eternal algebra class finale (14/14)
Thank you so much for reading Eternal Algebra Class these few years!!!
I still haven't watched BFB 17. I really wanted to finish this before I saw the new episode, since I didn't want this drawing to be influenced by new information. I'm so happy that I managed to pull through and give this comic a proper ending! As recent as a month ago, I would've thought that the comic would just be left unfinished due to burnout. I guess the lockdown/quarantine/whatever made me realise how much time I actually had, so I worked almost constantly for these two weeks making this finale. And looking back at these last pages, the time and effort was completely worth it.
Once again, thank you so, so, so much for reading my comic! Whether you've been here since the first few pages (kudos for enduring my old art) or even if you've only read a page or two recently, I really appreciate all of you. There's been comic dubs made of this series, which was something that I could've only dreamed of before I started creating content. Even though this never really took off, it was such an experience creating this. If you dare to look at my oldest pages, you'll be able to see the evolution of my art style, a lot of trial and error, and so many plot threads left hanging. It's surreal to see how far the comic has come. thank you.
I'm gonna make a video explaining the story and the process behind this comic, which is going to be linked here and in a separate post once it's done! Also, on the off chance you liked my self-insert characters, stay tuned!!! I'm working on something that I'm very excited to talk about!

eternal algebra finale part 13/14
we're almost there!
This page probably won't do the characters in BFB justice, but I'm proud of it nonetheless. There were still a lot of plot points and character arcs that I would've put in the comic if I had the discipline to sit down and make them happen. But I realised that making a long-term comic for characters that aren't even my own isn't what I wanted to do. While I still really enjoy watching BFB and object shows causally, I'm not as involved or engaged with the community as much as I used to be. Simply put, I don't consider myself in the fandom anymore. This is the second-last part of the comic, so I'll save the rest of the ramble for later. For now you should be aware that the last word said in this comic is "ah"

roboty: “this is fine.”
This whole scene was originally supposed to be in one page, until I realised I couldn't fit everything I wrote in the script in one page. It took quite some word wrangling to stick everything I wanted into these last few pages. Also, headcanon that even the numbers like Four and Two can't match David and Dora's full potential power if they utilise it. I also like to think that there's a number hierarchy, with One/Zero?? being the most powerful and it goes down from there. Which is why Four didn't stand up to Two when the whole TPOT thing happened, and also why Four can trash talk Six and comfort Seven in the new 600,000 subscriber short. (the famous remix slaps, btw)

aka, returning to my roots of giving Pencil a personal conflict
Even though it’s been an absolute grind to get these pages out, I’m actually starting to finally enjoy the process! Seeing everything come together is probably the reason why I’m still doing this and I haven’t completely given up on this comic yet. Of course, this isn’t about to be a long-term thing (since you know…this is the finale) but even detailing the floors and notice boards is starting to be kind of fun!See you with the next page hopefully in a few hours. And now that I’ve written that, I am bound to my own contract of making page 12 by today. this may have been a mistake.

eternal algebra finale part 10/14
the "stupid number thing" looks familiar... 🤔🤔🤔
Jokes aside, no number or letter thing including Two and Four and X is going to have a speaking role in the rest of this comic. I'm done with them, they were never that good to begin with, and I'd much rather develop the characters already in the classroom than some otherworldly supernatural symbols. Additionally (no pun intended), I forgot to show this in the last page, but Calc and Protractor are holding balloons and banners for the party as a throwback to this
festival thing
that happened in the comic. wow that was a long time ago

eternal algebra finale part 9/14
the winner nuggets return
Set Square is the last character I'll be talking about, and might possibly be considered an objectsona if I wanted to say that? (she is the character in all of my accounts' profile pics.) I don't really have an objectsona, since although Set Square is very similar to me out of the four in the comic, she's not the character who's the most like me. She's the most rebellious and individualistic of the group, enjoys creating character designs/art and really does not like going to this mathematics school. She's only there because she's a mathematical instrument, and she would do anything to make sure that nobody else gets forced into a position they hate because of who they are. She's friends with everybody in the group, though she's the closest to Protractor, partially due to how similar they look (they aren't related) and partially because he's one of the few people who she can share her creative interests with. Out of all the OCs in the comic, she's the most developed one too, and will get a main role in my project.
I'm not entirely sure how the rest of the comic will go, since I forgot to take in account how much goes into an action scene in a comic page and may have written too little pages to tell the story properly. i'm sure i'll figure something out. whoops!

eternal algebra finale part 8/14
roboty says “traitors”
Sorry for not uploading yesterday! This was a particularly difficult comic to think of a joke for. Next character is Protractor! He and Set Square are the closest of friends, and though he doesn't really understand her antics sometimes, he tries his best to be a supportive friend. Even though he's attending a school of mathematics, Protractor likes to play music! He taught himself the guitar, plays the piano and loves to vibe. This time, he *is* a main character for my project, but I still need to develop his character more. I'm not really sure how his personality should be.
Also, this page is a reference to page 80 of the comic, which was less than ten pages ago, but also a year ago, so I thought I’d bring it back! It’s really not the best, but it just shows my improvement over time, so I don’t mind!
Finale of the comic should still be before BFB 17 drops, and in the worst case scenario it will be within 1-2 days of the episode's release. stay tuned!

eternal algebra finale part 7/14
drawing these notice boards is going to be the death of me Next up is Calculator, whose human design is also my minecraft skin. She's also made for the comic and doesn't get much screentime in *project i'm planning*, but I want to do more with her character! She's very studious and hardworking, regularly passing her classes with flying colours. While she's usually seen as an obedient student who follows the rules, she also doesn't keep quiet if she senses something wrong with said rules (which is why she helped her friends get a hall pass to sneak into the classroom here). She also tends to be a bit long-winded, using an extensive vocabulary while conversing with her acquaintances. Before I got burnt out on this comic, I wanted to redo the first 20-30 pages to fix up the out-of-character moments and get rid of the weirder elements of the story. The first page was going to feature Calculator discovering the EXIT and Bracelety's elimination, instead of the very bad and strange number things that don't even have continuity intercepting her. This page is kind of a reference to that, as I see her as possibly being kind of an older sister figure to Bracelety. There's a lot of these references I put in the comic that nobody except me would get, since they involve unfinished story arcs and/or plots that were only left in the planning stage.

eternal algebra finale part 6/14
This is the first time I have ever drawn stadium lights
I'd like to save some experiences I had making the comic for a video I'm making about it, so instead here's some facts about the OCs I've put in the comic! Since Compasses features very heavily in this page I'll start with them. Compasses is probably the OC that I've developed the least in this comic. I initially made them exclusively for the comic, only really started giving them a defined personality while writing this finale, and they don't show up very much during *NOT VERY SECRET PROJECT I'M PLANNING*. Still, I like their character so far! They get by when it comes to their academic pursuits, but most of the time they just like to have fun and crack bad jokes...and that's really all I know about them at this point. I might develop them more someday, but they aren't very high priority due to aforementioned lack of presence in project I'm making.

eternal algebra finale part 5/14
I think Dora might be my new favourite character to write! Though this is the finale, and I won't be writing her anymore...well I guess I better cherish it while she's still within my control So the months-long hiatuses I kept taking from the comic was due to some personal issues, but the main one was simply burnout from making the comic. I've since lost interest in BFB and even though I still watch episodes when they're uploaded, I wouldn't say I'm involved in the community anymore. I still like the premise and characters I developed in eternal algebra class, I just didn't feel inspired to draw characters that aren't even my own. Especially when the characters in the comic are still getting screentime, which kinda negates one of the reasons why I started the comic. It also didn't help that what used to be two weeks between episodes became a month, then a few months and then a year. So what little motivation I had to continue the comic also fizzled out, and it never really came back (for reasons that will be revealed later!!) Also, Dora's dialogue: It all began when I became the most recently voted out contestant in the game show Battle For BFDI, and I was inducted into the eliminated contestants' current area of residence, the Eternal Algebra Class Withfour. In the short amount of time I have spent here, I have witnessed an impressive attempt at escaping this very room. Alas, the escape attempt failed miserably when our captor Four noticed us ascending towards the outside world and ingested us once again. Our friend Loser, however, who had recently broken free of his sugary confinement moments before the quest, managed to be the sole contestant to leave this place. Now, with the only room we know for months and years in disrepair and disarray, your presence is a welcome change from the ongoing monotony of living in our permanent prison.

eternal algebra finale, part 4/14
this classroom floor is such a nightmare to draw I had a lot of fun drawing this page! (not the floor.) Most of it is due to Dora's presence, but she's one of the two characters I haven't been able to draw since the comic hiatus (the other being Firey Jr) and I really wanted to give both of them moments to shine before this comic ends. Firey Jr's moment will arrive soon! This comic started because I was seeing a lot of concepts and fanart of what was the unseen Eternal Algebra Class back at the end of 2017. I was really passionate about object shows back then, so the comic was sort of a way for me to imagine how the eliminated contestants would function in a new environment that wasn't a competition, especially after I saw a lot of people want to see Pencil, Leafy and/or Bracelety get some screentime after their elimination. It was also a way for me to practice my art and writing skills...and looking back I really needed that practice. However, having just started my art account in October of that year, I would be lying if I said part of the reason I started the comic wasn't to gain some attention within the community itself. The main social media platform I posted my art on was Instagram, and when I realised that only a small portion of the community was on there (and also how comics don't really work on instagram) I tried to kill two birds with one stone by extending my social media reach, I suppose. I actually made both my Deviantart and Tumblr accounts just for the comic. There was a brief period of time where I also posted the comic on Amino, but it was one of the most toxic communities I'd ever been a part of, so that didn't last very long. Ultimately, the comic did get some traction, though it was never that well-known. Which is completely fair! I'm still surprised that it ever got any kind of positive attention at all. will be talking about my comic burnout in the next post

eternal algebra finale, part 3/14
Those suspicious nuggets are Winner's brand. it may look like the discord logo but it's not One of the main difficulties with making this comic was that BFB is a constantly updating show, with new characters all being added to the algebra class every few episodes. It was quite a struggle keeping up with all the information, especially in the first year or so I made the comic. Most notably, everything descended into chaos once BFB 10 was released, as it revealed information and places that directly contradicted what I had posted in the first few pages! In fact some things now still don't line up with the canon. For example I interpret elimination as a teleportation into the class, rather than it literally taking place inside Four. There was also the problem of staying true to the characters. At first, I didn't even try to do that. If you looked at the first few comics, I completely took away Bracelety's main characteristics to give her more character development (why????) Overall, a very very bad idea. I did try to explain that in a story arc I never posted, but that decision was doomed from the start. It's also why I dumped my own characters like Set Square and her group in the later pages, since I could write their interactions and dialogue freely without worrying if they would go against the BFB canon. (fun fact: My main issue with BFB 16 wasn't Two's existence or the show splitting. It was Match seemingly learning nothing from the Bubble arc, which once again completely contradicted what I'd done in the comic so far.) Tomorrow I'll probably talk about why I started drawing the comic!

eternal algebra finale, part 2/14
This page isn't the best, but it's definitely a lot better than what the first 30 or so pages were... Not every page is going to heavily feature Set Square and the gang, don't worry! I actually wrote a script for once, and I did try to give each character some time in the spotlight. Yep, the first 81 pages of this comic were completely unscripted, and I literally just made it up as I went along. In the last 5-10 pages I started making rough plans for plot points, but throughout the comic I never actually planned out any dialogue, composition, layout, or even made any thumbnail sketches. Here's a tip: do not do this. It's why the story and art of the comic is so messy and disjointed. (that, and also because i didn't have much source material to use in the first place. more on that in part 3!)
