after 4 years, eurydice has the opportunity to once again compose a song for nct. eurydice also helped to compose 2 tracks in their second mini album, girls and illusion. eurydice was extremely proud of ‘girls’, especially the bridge that had heavy dubstep influence, however the lack of public affection for the song ‘girls’ disappointed eurydice. instead, they enjoyed the other song she composed and written, ‘illusion’ better.

at the end of 2017, eurydice was scouted by lee soo man and became a trainee under sm entertainment under the condition that she would still be able to compose songs for blockberry creative. unbeknownst to her, sm entertainment would send her to a survival show a few months after she entered the company, halting all her activities. thus, eurydice was only able to contribute in 2 songs for loona’s first ep [++]

2019

fresh out of the survival show in 2018, eurydice composed 3 tracks for loona’s first album [XX] before blockberry creative forcefully cut all ties with her, deleting her joint-project with jaden jeong ‘La Maison’ and all her other demo’s on her work laptop. thus, eurydice was unable to complete ‘hyper ballad’, and only the demo version was included in the [XX] track list. this would be the last time eurydice is seen credited as a composer for loona.

2020

preparing for her debut in aespa, eurydice had little time to compose songs. additionally, as they were a rookie group with new strict rules placed onto them, eurydice found it hard to send her song demo’s to other artists outside sm entertainment. however, her 2018 untitled song demo, which was heavily inspired by hotel lobby music, found its way into dreamcatchers new album, crediting eurydice as one of the composers for the song. eurydice was shocked when blockberry creative used one of her completed demo’s in loona’s latest album without crediting her, but fans figured out through her distinct sound that eurydice had composed the song.

2021

after settling down in aespa and getting used to the hectic schedules, eurydice found time to write and compose more songs. eurydice initially wanted the songs to be for aespa, however sm entertainment denied all her songs for use. fed up that she was not given any creative control over her group, eurydice gave away her songs to chungha and belift lab. (at that point eurydice did not know belift lab was under hybe) ‘drunk-dazed’ and ‘fever’ were instant hits, topping the charts on melon and when sm entertainment found out that it was eurydice who had composed and written the song, eurydice was punished by confiscating her song writing journal and mobile phone, cutting off her connection with the outside world for months and preventing her from making new songs.

2022

eurydice was really bored without her phone. by cutting off her access to music, eurydice was left humming melodies to herself, which was how she created the main melody of tripleS’s songs, with different interpretations of ‘la la la la’ that she sang to herself when bored. once her mobile phone was given back to her, eurydice immediately sent the demo’s of her new songs to jaden jeong for his new girl group tripleS, as a thanks for mentoring her years ago. leading to the release of the 3 tripleS songs in 2022, co-composed and co-written by eurydice.

eurydice also sent the lyrics of her song ‘pretty boys’ to yena, her close friend from produce 48, who was gearing up for her debut.

at the start of 2022, eurydice was contacted by 131 label as a feature in B.I’s single BTBT. although sm entertainment denied the opportunity for collaboration, eurydice kept on pushing for it as she had a feeling that the song was going to be a major hit, which could help boost her popularity and aespa’s. even though she was only supposed to be a feature for the song, eurydice had strong opinions on how to better the song, making it more appealing to audiences. this lead to eurydice gaining credits in production and lyrics of the song.

another one of eurydice’s old hotel lobby music demo’s was discovered and used in yena’s song love war. with the loona members joining new companies, eurydice was kicked back into full gear, composing songs for her loona-girlies in support of their debuts. eurydice also got the opportunity to collaborate with other producers to create ateez’s song, bouncy, which was an extremely upbeat song reminiscent of drunk-dazed’s ending.

brief history

born and raised in new york city, eurydice always had an interest in the arts. eurydice is a huge nerd and theatre geek, taking part in many school plays and having her sights set on nyu. at 14, eurydice spent most of her free time songwriting and composing songs. at 16, eurydice was forced to move back to korea with her mother. in korea, eurydice attended an international school, but was distant to her schoolmates. homesick and lonely, she found solace in songwriting and composing. at the end of 2016, eurydice was taken under the wing of jaden jeong, and subsequently became extremely close with the loona members. in december of 2017, eurydice was scouted by lee sooman and became an sm trainee. a few months later in june of 2018, eurydice was thrust into competing in the survival show produce48. after not making it into the final lineup of produce 48, no updates on eurydice were provided until 2020 when sm dropped SYNK, REIN, introducing rein as the final member of aespa.
