Evaluation
Since starting the second year of this course I have learnt a variety of new skills. One of the main skills I have learnt would be using aftereffects to create my title sequence for the film Titanic. I found this fairly difficult at the start as it was a whole new application however I did manage to figure it out in the end and really enjoyed using it afterwards. I do think that there is definitely room for improving my skills on aftereffects as I think my title sequence came out looking really simple. In addition to this I also learnt how to create a film magazine on InDesign to showcase information about each film I was given. I have used InDesign before in the first year however I struggled to get the hang of it but I understand it quite well now and was really please with my magazine outcome.
One of the main artists that I was really inspired by would be  Karan Singh as I really liked his work and the way he used colours for his work I also really liked the way that he separates the shapes of objects by using either solid colour or patterns as its quite unique looking and is very appealing to the eye. I also really liked the way he portrayed certain objects using other things for example instead of a grape bunch he replaced them with eyes as they are both similar shapes. Another artist that I really like would be Andrea Robescu as her art work really stands out due to the colour palettes she uses which consist of vibrant colours I also really like the way she incorporates shapes and drawings into images of people her artwork appears very abstract which I like as its different and quite quirky.
When creating all of my outcomes for each film I also ensured that I considered the audience I was aiming for and the age range of them. All of my films are very similar in their age range the youngest age rating being a PG 13 and the highest being a 15 this is helpful as it gives me a wider variety of what I can produce as there’s a larger range of people. Although there was the age rating, I feel like my posters are suitable for anyone to view the only one that might not be too friendly for everyone would be the fly poster that portrays the use of a gun which could be distressing to some.
If I was given more time with my work I would have gone for more complex poster designs to portray the films better for example I could have added in an edited image of a scene from the film to make it appear more realistic. I would also add more research of each film to my film magazine to make it more informative however I managed to still produce enough to let my audience understand my films better. Overall I feel like this project has been pretty successful for me compared to past projects as I feel I have worked harder and achieved more I have also managed to reach the deadlines a bit better. I feel like my skills have progressed much more for the second year too as I have been using each application more which also helps to improve the look of my outcomes as I have much more experience now. I have also really enjoyed the types of art we have looked at and the topic we have studied as it has been quite fun.

THE FLY (FINAL OUTCOME)
there we a few mistakes made when doing this screen print at first as I didn't flood back right (this is shown in the bottom photo as there are marks and smudges on the type and in the bottom right corner) however in the end they came out really good although I do still feel like I may have used too much ink and the sides don't look very neat and look like they have bled through.

Film Poster Final Outcome
These are the screen prints of my film poster for back to the future. There are ones that went well and some that didn't go too well this is shown mostly by the bottom two as they have the most visible marks on them. I am happy with how they came out although I do wish I had more that came out good but instead most of them had smudges on them.

FILM MAGAZINE
Ive created a magazine to portray each film that I studied this was done using indesign and the research I found on my film.i done this by finding a scene from each movie and creating art for it on illustrator.Im really happy with how the final mockup came out.
I created the logo using my first name and middle name. I used initials to be more personal too me, I used my name to create a symbol in the center of the logo. I decided to use my own name to reflect my personal creative style and the work I put into the magazine. I think this is a practise used widely in the publication industry to maintain a link to the creator. I also feel initials or monograms are classic and professional and offer a striking yet simple design feature. I chose the font to be sophisticated, modern and stylised but also to grab attention.   How I created artwork: For each page of my magazine I used the illustrator app. To develop each page I first selected a scene from the film. I chose some scenes at random but I also chose scenes which I felt had an important occurrence from the movie or something which I could relate to and illustrate well. To bring the scenes to life for my magazine I used a pen tool to outline the chosen image and turn it into a live object using live paint. I chose colours to fit the theme of the film and followed this through on each page relating to each film, eg blue for Titanic and green for The Fly. I felt this would help set the scene for the reader and help identify which movie was being shown with a clear visual. I have used illustrator many times before and find it easy to use and comprehensive. I like the outcomes I achieved for my pages.

Title Sequence
During the course of a few weeks I have been working on creating a title sequence for my chosen film which was the titanic. There were a few steps that went into planning this and making sure I knew what was going to happen in it. I started off by making a storyboard to showcase each scene with images and then continued to make graphics for the title sequence. This was done on illustrator and I had to make sure each one was on a separate file I then used them in after effects to create this short clip.
I am fairly pleased with how this has turned out however I did feel like I could have make it look more full as I felt it looked quite simple and cartoon like but once I added the ocean Image over the top I liked it a bit more.

Karan Singh outcomes
These images are what I have created using inspiration from the artist Karan Singh I really like how these came out however I did find it quite challenging as I felt the colours didn't work great together compared to the artist.

Andrea Robescu
Andreea Robescu is an artist based in Barcelona. She grew up in a family of artists and her art experiments started during childhood and at age 12 she had her first group exhibition shocking the audiences with huge canvases of nudes drawn in charcoal. She continued her artistic journey but decided to follow a different path and pursue a career in Interior Design. After earning her Bachelor Degree, she specialised in retail design, mainly window display visuals.Meanwhile she started working as a creative alongside her partner Andrei Robu at his branding studio where she focused on art direction for various projects. During this time she learned more about graphic design and gained valuable experience in working with corporate clients. This intricate but very creative road helped her rediscover the passion for illustration and art.Her art breaks the boundaries of how the body and facial features are illustrated through photography in the fashion industry and by using a more relaxed and fun way of looking at things she expressed and embraced the human sexuality in a playful and empowering way. Bold colours and abstract shapes play a big part of Andreea’s work. She’s creating powerful visuals using everything from markers to acrylics, pencils and ink, sometimes even her bare hands making the whole process a very personal one. Her energetic illustrations attracted the eye of various global brands and publications.
The images shown at the bottom are my outcomes created using Inspiration from Andrea Robescu. I really enjoyed this task it was fun to create them and I really loved how creative you can be with the style of art used.

Willem Sanberg
Sandberg began designing publications for the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam in the 1920s. He became a curator in 1938 and returned after the war and began on a path for a graphic designer and also the Stedelijk Museum Director, from 1945 until his retirement in 1963. Under Sandberg’s direction, the Stedelijk modernized and compiled an important collection of European modern art. He designed exhibitions to be less aristocratic and more engaging for his visitors, and introduced the first museum audio guides and headsets in 1952. “A fierce enemy of the high-brow,” is how Sandberg described himself.
Sandberg’s visual vocabulary relied on typography rooted in the style of his Dutch contemporaries Piet Zwart and H. N. Werkman, but was never unnecessarily complicated. Sandberg claimed that he didn’t like luxury in typography. He used torn paper, and the occasional photograph, to assemble collages that showed his graphic forms and typography, and printed his work on plain paper stock.
I created my own version of the torn type by finding a font, drawing it out and then editing it on photoshop to change the appearance in an artistic way. I tried to make my work look vintage by adding shadow to it and also adding lines to make it look like a letter which also works with the vintage theme.

these are two ideas of what I am going to do for a title sequence I played around with the different ideas to then see my final outcome.
Titanic story board:
image 1: for the start of my title sequence I will show the heart of the ocean necklace slowly depending into the depths of the ocean I am going to try to incorporate ocean sounds into this to set the tone of the environment.
image 2: the background slowly starts getting darker to symbolise the necklace going further into the ocean this is then when names will start popping up of characters etc
image 3: this will continue for a while still slowly getting darker as it goes down
image 4: the necklace will then be shown landing on top of the ‘I’in titanic and a silhouette of a sunken ship will appear just underneath the title to symbolise what happens in the film.
Back to the future story board:
for this title sequence I will be portraying a hover-board floating through the screen to symbolise the futuristic side of the film I will also include clots in the background which will also be ticking to who the time theme of the film and I've also incorporated some beams of neon light to add a bit of colour to the dark background.for the text I will be using a futuristic font.

Titanic
The titanic was a very popular film that managed to hold an all-time box office gross record for more than a decade after its release which isn’t very common. The reviews given to this film are overall positive with a rating of 4.8 stars. There has been mentions of the film being breath-taking and a film that doesn’t come along very often. I personally really enjoyed this film and it has been in my top favourite films for a while. There is always something happening In the film which keeps the viewer interested and wanting to know what happens next. During the filming of titanic there was a person on set who was living in 1912 when the titanic actually sunk meaning that the accuracy could be improved from a first-person account. There were some incidents that happened on the set of titanic as well which included Kate Winslet getting pneumonia as she didn’t want to wear a wet suit while filming. The quote I’ll never let go jack is one of the main famous quotes of the film and makes its appearance towards the end when jack is on the brink of death, I feel that because of the scenario that makes it more memorable. Leonardo DiCaprio stated in the ‘film 90996’ interview that making the film was very tiring as it was unlike anything he had ever done before he had also stated that the director was rightly demanding and wanted things a specific way. After the film release there were many rumours or people being sceptical about Kate and Leo’s relationship being romantic in any sort of way due to the chemistry they had shown throughout the film. However, Kate quickly debunked the rumour by stating that her and Leo were only young when filming and remained just friends.
Back To The Future
The film back to the future has been labelled one of the most successful franchises of universals history and the highest grossing film of 1985. The film has been added into the national film registry having been named culturally, historically and aesthetically significant. The film has a wide variety of merchandise and even theme park ride named after it. The film has managed to score a very high 4.9 stars out of 5 which clearly portrays just how good people find the film many have described the film as perfect and a true classic. Although this film has a high rating, I personally didn’t particularly enjoy this film mostly due to the fact that I don’t enjoy that type of film as I can’t really get into it , however, I can see why people like this film so much and the way its produced is very good. The film portrays many predictions for the year that we are currently in (2020) which makes it so fascinating as it shows how peoples view of the future changes so much and gives us an idea of new creations etc. shockingly the back to the future script was rejected over 40 times as people thought time travel movies didn’t make as much money as others or that it was better suited for Disney. This shows just how quickly something can go from nothing to one of the biggest hits. The film even managed to capture the attention of royalty as Princess Diana attended the London premiere of back to the future II in 1985. In an interview done by Ryan Gilbey Bob Gale stated that they actually made a cast change 6 weeks into making the film the switch was from Eric Stoltz to Michael J Fox as Eric wasn’t giving off humour enough during the filming.
The Fly
The fly has been given a rating of 4.5 stars which is fairly good although it doesn’t top the first two films however although its 4.5 stars the reviews are still really good some of these reviews include people mentioning how well made the film was and how good the visual effects were. Another also states that’s it was one of the best films that Jeff Goldblum has made. In my opinion this film was okay however I didn’t really enjoy it much as I couldn’t get into it even though I’m a big fan of horror films and anything scary, however this film was also really gruesome which surprised me quite a bit. Another factor may have been when the film was made (1986) and the progress of special effects weren’t as great as todays films however I do feel that this may have been considered terrifying for its time which understandably makes the reviews make sense.

Why is target audience important?
Target audience is a specific group of people that share similar characteristics for example this might include their age, location or profession or even possibly personality. This is important as doing this it takes away the stress of trying to please every single person. This can also ensure that the cost of this all is a lot less than trying to send out advertisement to each individual person/household. Therefore trying to only send out advertisement to the target audience ensures that more sales can happen as they will more likely want to buy the product.

These are some film review/magazines I found. One of the main things noticed about all of these is that they all feature characters as the main focus of the magazine (this is done by enlarging them to make them stand out).
‘kick-ass 2′ I have noticed that this magazine has been written in a very casual and humorous way almost like they are just having a conversation with you.i feel this is a good way to make people want to read it instead of having a boring explanation of the film.It also includes some movie information (eg release date, where to find it and the age rating) for anyone reading it which could work as a good way to Get people watching it.
‘SCREEN’ The page shown features a huge variety of film reviews so u can get a better understanding of different films instead of just one. it shows a total of 10 reviews but the main ones shown are identity theft and  red dawn which im assuming were very popular films at that time. if that's the case by featuring them more people will be tempted to buy it to get information about the popular films. The theme of the magazine is very simple so I feel it may be heading towards an older audience as kids wouldn't really be tempted by it as there isn't many bright fun colours.
‘new old videos’ The layout of this magazine is very similar to the SCREEN one as there is more writing than image and also features more than one review of different films.
‘HORROR’ -This magazine has a lot going on. The title is very bold and bright to let readers know what its about clearly. Another thing noticed is that it includes some extra information such as 25 best horror films which would be great for anyone who loves them or is just looking for something new to watch and also 50 worst scary flops which would help people stay away from them or possibly give them something to watch for a laugh. It also includes 3 horror movies at the bottom of the magazine.
‘TOTAL FILM (AQUA MAN)’-  Total film use the same font for each of the magazines they publish which allows people who love it to notice them from the way its portrayed. it includes ‘the worlds most trusted film reviews’ which allow people to know that it includes film reviews but also helps convince them that the film is either good or bad by using the word ‘trusted’. Under the word ‘aqua man’ the magazine includes a review from Jason momoa who plays aqua man and he states that its similar to Avatar, Indiana Jones and Star Wars so for anyone who loves those films they will most definitely check them out.
‘TOTAL FILM (CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY)’ This magazine is similar to the last one with the same title and font used however the content on the front page is different. There is information about two other movies on the front page also which include Sahara and the ring two. it also states that every new dvd and film reviewed for people who love watching films and new releases this would be very useful for them.
‘SERENITY’ The magazine is quite minimal with colour and the title isn't very bold however there is a lot of content on this magazine. the first thing they included was a 5 star review this shows that the film has to be good for it to be five star therefore making people want to watch it. They have also decided to include the actors underneath along with the director. Another thing included is that they diss a very well known film ‘Star Wars’ by calling it disappointing so for anyone who enjoys watching Star Wars may or may not be tempted to watch it to see if its up to that standard or not.
