My middle finger had to be amputated, and I asked the doctors if I could keep it and they were like, ‘I mean, yeah. It’s your finger, go ahead,’ so I took it home and cleaned it until I just had the bones left. Then in clear resin I cast a hand flipping the bird, and placed my bones in the middle finger. It looked sick as hell so I posted it online, where I was doxxed for using real human bones for art even though they were my bones.

One advantage of not really having a strong sense of gender identity is that you’re very [shrug emoji] about how people gender you. Sometimes people call me by she/her pronouns and sometimes they go with he/him pronouns and on the internet people often default to they/them, and neither option is entirely right but also, fuck if I know what would be right, and I don’t particularly care. Therefore I’m perfectly happy to outsource my gender identity to the people around me who actually need to figure out which box to put me in. I don’t need to talk about myself in third person, so really my pronouns sound like a you problem.

I don't normally reblog from my weird media side blog but it's really rare that I get to experience something that's gone out into the world in a very 'official' way that's been made by someone I know!

Ruin of the House of the Divine Visage is a wonderful, short comic by @spiremint and @evegwood which you can read a decent chunk of here so you don't even have to trust anything I say, you can check it out yourself!

The comic is absolutely gorgeous! The composition alone does so much to set the mood for every scene and story beat. (There's a section toward the beginning where dialogue bubbles are set over the faint impression of eyes in the background which is -chef's kiss- It's so unnerving. And then there's a section later I adored where there's something of a relationship-development montage going between private and public life and I love how they sat opposite to each other. So, so, so good. And there's more but I don't want to spoil the entire thing by babbling about how every single panel is perfect.)

There's also some really fun things that were super nostalgic for me. Things I noticed in one of the protagonists that really brought me back to stuff Spire made forever ago and stuff Spire's still making! (It made me smile so much, I loved to see it and be able to hold it in my hands.) And! The conlang stuff! I got so excited by the alphabet-beads that as soon as I realized there was a page to do translations I started doing them for each page and only once I was halfway through the book did I realize there were translations provided on the following page. (BUT It was missing the page 0 "to those who cannot run" so I got to feel pleased with myself about that one.)

Anyway! This comic is amazing, the art is a feast for the eyes and the story is short but heartfelt. It kicked me right in the feelings.

And if you're reading this, Spire, congratulations to you (and Eve!) on getting this bad boy out into the world!

cool that there’s a trans guy character in that new baymax series or whatever. idc it will never detract how funny it is to me that they thought a man saying “these are the type of pads i use for my period” wasn’t an obvious enough signifier of him being trans so they just. put him in a trans t shirt. like JUST. a tshirt. in case you missed that this is the trans character. this is the trans character guys. cant you tell by the Giant Trans Flag he’s wearing

I am reblogging this so you know but take note of each step you follow or any extra steps you take: Like a heathen I use gmail (I do not use a different mail processing software because I grew up in the 90's and early 2000's and have outlook-based-trauma) and this turned my nice clean inbox into a disaster zone of offers and deals and so on that google had been filtering out for me. There is maybe a way to deal with this without all their AI and tracking but seeing my e-mail suddenly explode with thousand of e-mails sure did stress me out! So good stuff to know but if you do rely on google services only start turning this stuff off when you're in a place where you're ready to be solving unexpected problems!

Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.

If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.

Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.

Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.

A family of cheetahs sleep with the forest guard every night. When the Forest Dept. heard about it, they decided to check the veracity of the claim by installing a CCTV camera. This is what the camera recorded! Just amazing.
