"if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life" except i do love writing, and yet every time i open my document, i feel like a victorian child being sent to the coal mines, so where’s the lie.

Hahaha
#winner for most accurate statement about writing
writing is just sitting in front of a computer and making up problems for imaginary people while ignoring your own. fun and casual hobby.

I'm reading so much to distract myself from writing. If all I do for the next three months is read, the book will write itself, right? That's how it works, isn't it? Isn't it?

Y'all. Run - do not walk - RUN to get your hands on this book.
The BANTER. The flirting, the affection, the friendships, the family, the love, the humor - all came together into a lovely, brilliant feast. I laughed so hard at one point, I dropped the book and scared the cat. I cried more than once. I'll be smiling for a long time. My heart is so full.
Now I want to taste all the wine and gorge on all the Iranian food.
Spice was mild (To be fair *insert Letterkenny characters singing* prior to this, I read Priest by Sierra Simone, SO most things are going to be mild by comparison). Still, it was hot and exquisitely written, and THANK GOD no fade to blacks.
I loved it, I will re-read but I need to find an Iranian restaurant or a cookbook first. Probably both.
Ten out of five stars, bravo @adibkhorram

Just started this gem tonight and I'm LOVING IT.
The banter, the chemistry, the pop culture references, so good!
Mild spice so far (deliciously written!!)
I think I bought this at The Book Barn in Connecticut, I didn't realize it was an ARC until a few minutes ago.
Cover Illustration by Forouzan Safari. Cover Design by Daniela Medina.
What's that? It's the cover for my debut adult romance, I'LL HAVE WHAT HE'S HAVING!! Coming at you August 27, 2024. Which is like...five months away. Terrifying!!
When it comes to love, substitute teacher Farzan Alavi is a disaster. Newly heartbroken—again—he’s drowning his sorrows at Kansas City’s newest wine bar. Only instead of being crowded between strangers, he’s escorted to a VIP table for one. There, the hot sommelier does more than treat him to the meal of his life. The way he flirts with Farzan ignites instant sparks. There’s just one problem: David Curtis thinks Farzan is Frank Allen, Kansas City’s most influential food critic. The truth only comes out after the two spend an unforgettably hot night together. Good news—both think the mix-up is hilarious. Bad news—David is studying to become a master sommelier and has no interest in a relationship. Neither expects their paths to cross again . . . until Farzan inherits his family’s bistro. The two agree to a friends-sans-benefits exchange: David will share his industry knowledge, and Farzan will help David study. Only business turns to pleasure when neither can ignore the attraction still sizzling between them. But with David set on a cross-country move after his test, and Farzan committed to his family’s restaurant, how can their relationship last past the expiration date?
It's got...
–A fast burn romance –Elder millennials –Mistaken identity –A one night stand that leads to more –Food and wine –Friends with benefits to lovers –The best friend group around –Four chili peppers on the Adib Khorram Spice-o-meter (we're talking a lot of boning, people.)
You can even preorder it now if you like!!

So, what he's saying is...it'll pass?
“Go out and get some fresh air! Stop crying in your room with the curtains closed. Do something better with your life. It’s a great show, we all love it, but come on now! Pull yourself together. Open the curtains and go outside.”

@sundaypetrichor
A -I think EMETEO is my overall favorite. It was a labor of love, and I truly miss my OCs. My favorite Shameless fic that I've written is a tie between Por Toda Mi Vida and Say Hello To Heaven.
X- I used to read a lot more than I do now. I was working at a really shitty job that just sucked the life out of me so I couldn't read or write anything. Now most of what I write is for my thesis but I hope I can get back into fics.
@mybrainismelted
T -l can't think of any that I can't stand. I think most tropes can be enjoyable in the hands of the right writer. I don't like fics where they're written too OOC, but that's really it.
Z - None of my Shameless stuff gets a lot of love, but there are some AMAZING fics in this fandom.
