Checking Ladakh Bike Trip off the Bucket List
Some places are therapeutic and, Leh Ladakh is one of such places to visit in India. I got lured by the breathtaking scenery, the tranquillity, and the culture it follows. The Ladakh bike tour is where the meditation starts.
We were looking for the right time to visit this destination. We didn’t want to ruin this experience of a Ladakh bike trip in a hurry. As we set out on this journey, we started feeling free of all the baggage and worries.
We took the Manali to Leh route that was more bustling than we thought it would be. The landscape and later the snowscape along the way kept us busy. Watching the demographic changes while riding made me even more ecstatic for the upcoming experiences.
Dug Dug Dug…
The Ladakh Biking tour is all about going through the Atal Tunnel, riding on long roads and, crossing streamlets for more than 600 km. We had to be careful on narrow roads with heavy motor vehicle traffic. We stopped at some attractive spots and to eat maggie like other travelers or rehydrate. We stopped now and then to admire the place and moment, took some pictures at the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar valley.
The difficulty along the way due to rough roads with dust made it tough to breathe. At night the journey that was already difficult became cold as well. While I dreamt of this trip, the dream had pleasant weather and smooth roads. But the beauty of the Ladakh bike trip comes with the harshness of the region.
The Ladakh lifestyle is dissimilar from the metropolitan lifestyle of people who come to visit that place. I tend to observe things with an empathetic perception. I realized how much courage it takes for people to make a living there. I found the place beautiful on the outside as well as inside. The surface is barren, yet the landscape struck me with the novelty it had to offer. The monks, nuns and, locales living there were holding tight to their culture and lifestyle.
Landscape or Moonscape
We felt overjoyed whenever we spotted some vegetation or agriculture in the middle of the moonscape. The mountain roads had work in progress and, the sandy roads had bike marks of travelers. The Ladakh bike trip has changed over the years, but the things that make it Ladakh remain the same. We visited the famous and pristine Pangong Lake. We halted in the camps at the banks of the Pangong lake.
When we sat still at locations with stars, lakes, mountains, and, sometimes, villages and, monasteries; those moments were a form of Nirvana to me. Everyone finds a moment of relief for themselves, while some find it in the middle of a crowd, like in Ladakh, which lives a different culture. Some meditate in the silence of the monastery that helps to ‘know thyself.
The Ladakh bike tour was a daring experience. As a travel enthusiast, I look forward to more such famous and adventurous trips to do next.
