The Trevor Project needs help holding upper management accountable for sudden devastating layoffs, and silencing those attempting to speak up about it!

The Trevor Project is a US-based nonprofit organization that provides support for struggling queer youth, providing 24/7 phone and text lines as well as other resources and community for many queer youth who are struggling to find support and a sense of stability. For those who work for this project, their jobs have meant everything to them, and the layoffs came suddenly, without the employees being able even so much as give feedback during this announcement.

"On the morning of June 14, The Trevor Project sent a meeting invite for 1:30 pm EST (2 hours before the meeting start time). The meeting was titled "988 Updates." In this brief meeting, staff at Trevor Project and staff contracted through Insight Global working for Trevor Project were informed that almost half of this 988 staff would be laid off and the last day for those folks would be July 2, 2023. Coordinators of the meeting from both Trevor Project and Insight Global turned off the chat feature and opened the Q&A, but have yet to still answer the questions asked by the staff. Leaders were stiff, emotionless, and cold while reading off of a script as if they were not destroying lives by what they were saying. 988 counselors and staff were also told not to stop taking crisis chats while this was happening, leading to our own self-crises while trying to support contacts. This was a highly unprofessional and inconsiderate meeting with life-changing news."

This has been utterly devastating for both the project, and those who are losing their jobs. Those affected were given a two week notice. As this is a primarily queer organization, many of those affected by these lay-offs face discrimination in their careers and have struggled to find jobs outside of queer affirming organizations.

As of writing this post, this petition only needs 255 signatures to pass, please sign if you agree that those in charge need to be held accountable and provide answers and solutions for the problems and damage that has been caused. You can also share this post, or the link to the petition itself to increase visibility. Thank you for reading.

Since prompt submissions are slowing down (I'm just gonna assume because the show's gotten so terrible everyone is jumping ship), if you enjoy writing short stories, and especially if you love using neopronouns in short stories, you can also submit short original stories to my other sideblog @neopronouns-in-action!

And if you're thinking, "but I don't have any original characters..." you can literally just change the names of some characters, change the names of stuff from the universe, and just write a short story like it's a fanfiction but if you had the ability to make everything actually make sense and work and the characters have actual interactions and...yeah, congrats, you have original characters, you're writing original ficiton.

If writing "fanfiction" requires you to rebuild the entire universe and every single relationship between every character from the ground up just so that things are actually coherent, that's not fanfiction anymore, you've been writing original fiction the whole time, and just slapping an existing character's name on it.

And if the story in question is public domain, like Dracula, Frankenstein, Winnie the Pooh, and Sherlock Holmes, you literally don't even have to change their names. It's not fanfiction if it's public domain, it's literally just normal fiction.

Most hilarious (in dark way) thing about "Strikeback" is that only reason why Adrien didn't try to Cataclysm Felix/Flairmidable out of jealousy is because it would result in his ring being taken and thus revealing latter as Not!Adrien. (thus, breaking plot in half)

Yep! He tries to murder Alya, (which Marinette still doesn't know about), but because they need Felix not to be revealed for the plot to work.... Adrien just.... Doesn't even do the most basic, in character actions because for once they wouldn't just benefit him, but they would help Marinette for once.

1) If Adrien attacked/otherwise sabotaged Flairmiddable in his usual bout of Jealousy?

Marinette wouldn't have been tricked by Felix and lost the Miraculous in the most Plot Hole Way Possible

(because they've established multiple times that that is NOT how the Miraculous weapons operate-- They literally had to break their own universe's rules for the finale to happen)

2) If Adrien was petty and snippy with Flairmiddable and vocally didn't trust him?

The other heroes would have kept a closer eye both of them, maybe questioning their own past interactions with Chat Noir and his own bad attitude towards them joining, which has especially gone downhill quickly with him outright resenting them and belittling them no matter how friendly they try to be. It would further drive a wedge of Adrien's own making between him and the Heroes Who Actually Care , which would be perfect foreshadowing to his twice-done, inevitable joining up with Hawkmoth, and someone else would have been watching more closely to see Flairmiddable cast fetch on the Yoyo.

3) If Adrien had actually used common sense for once in his life and warned Ladybug that the guy she gave a Miraculous to is the same guy that swapped places "with that Adrien Agreste kid" before, because he, Chat Noir, saw Felix roll into town at the train station earlier?*

Marinette would have immediately been on her guard and used the rest of the heroes against Felix to overwhelm him and retrieve the Miraculous back, and probably use a few of the powers/her own persuasion skills to get him to admit his plan

Like, literally the only reason Adrien wasn't his murderous, violently aggressive, selfish brat-self in the finale? Because if he had been, Felix would have been exposed and Marinette would have both won the day and had a real hard look at her partner's more horrendous actions first hand to paint him in a new light, and the writers couldn't have that, now could they?

one thing i truly genuinely despise about this site is that after we are so often presented with fictional white women doing objectively, obviously, blatantly racist things in the name of “empowerment” and “feminism,” woc spend months to years spoon-feeding everyone explanations on said racism. but there will STILL always be that group of white feminist bnfs who make a meta about how this character is a “radical” or something and then that becomes the new take, the woc are now nonsensical violent misogynists for debauching all the radical iconic legendary feminism we are too close-minded to see, and white women who identified with this character remain comfortable with the unchallenged racism in their own lens. they really do systematically and transparently use the language of feminism and activism and social justice to shut down any critique of racism.

Quick summary for chapter 1:

Adrien decides to adopt a feral cat, and this goes about as well as you'd expect. Character development ensues, with Adrien learning more about what it really means to take on the responsibility of owning a pet, and starts him on the path to learning how to treat other people better too.

Summary for the rest of the fic:

It started with Adrien Agreste adopting a random cat off the street. This leads to Adrien getting in contact with a vet, to make sure the cat's in good health. And this leads to Adrien learning about words like "trans" and "nonbinary" and "otherkin", and the idea that you don't have to be a boy just because your parents decided you were one when you were born. You don't even have to be human. Ne doesn't have to be the "perfect son". Ne doesn't even have to be a son at all. Ne can just be...rixelf. Adrien Agreste is no more, now riv name is Pandora. And, overjoyed with riv new identity, Pandora decides that ne's going to tell everyone who will listen, starting with the cleaning staff. And then ne learns that riv father's cruelty extends beyond the confines of Agreste mansion, and blankets the city. Hawkmoth isn't the only villain in Paris, Gabriel Agreste and Mayor Bourgeois are in league, exploiting the labor of the working class in order to fill their own pockets, then taking what little they do pay the workers right back in the form of rent, bills, and late fees. Pandora is horrified to learn where riv allowance has been coming from riv entire life, and vows that ne's going to stop it. Ne needs to tell Ladybug what ne's just learned! But no sooner does Pandora meet up with Ladybug to discuss the threat than another bombshell is dropped on top of rix, and then riv whole world is turned upside down, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Warnings: Mentions of dead birds/mice in the first chapter, unsafe animal care/animal neglect that is corrected. Some villains and other antagonists/characters who are bad people die offscreen, including both Gabriel. Emilie dies offscreen, but the lead up to it is onscreen. There are also discussions of emotional child abuse, but it's not shown in the present.

The main character figures out ne's nonbinary and otherkin, and starts using neopronouns 100% of the time starting in chapter 3. Multiple other trans characters are in the story as well, though none of them take center stage, since the story follows the main character with an extremely limited perspective.

This is an alternate universe from the show, with changes mostly in the background, not actually affecting this story. The main difference is that in this universe, there's no attempted romance between the heroes, it's 100% platonic. Because misogyny is bad, and this means that Adrien at least starts out with some morals as opposed to none.

A new series begins airing in Paris: Rhapzodiac - The Melodious Adventures of LaBelle and Gaston, which is effectively Miraculous Ladybug with the serial numbers filed off and just enough altered to not immediately rouse suspicion.  As the title implies, the series is a musical, set in a fantasy realm that is Certainly Not Paris; all the heroes and villains gain their powers through different musical instruments, and battles are show-stopping affairs featuring lots of singing and dancing.
