the ruling class freaking out over luigi magione isn't because they believe now a bunch of other ceos will be killed, it's because they're now aware the average person can hold such callous disregard for the lives of the ultra-wealthy individuals they're supposed to imagine themselves in the position as--AKA the "temporarily embarassed millionaire". that entire concept suppresses class consciousness very, very successfully, because not only are you not aligning your interests with those of your class, you don't even consider yourself a part of it! you're defending your imaginary future billionaire self instead. what happens when this incentive to defend and uphold the values and actions of the ruling class is gone? what happens when "what about this ceo's family?" turns into "what about everyone else's family?"...all i'm saying is, the romanovs weren't executed because a few communists were uniquely psychopathic. you are totally capable of ending up in the exact mindset. #inspo #mondaymotivation #becomeamarxistleninisttoday

Did you guys know there's nothing inherently wrong with selfish thoughts and desires and there's no such thing as thought crimes or thought sins and a balanced amount of selfishness is healthy and adaptive for living things to have and it's fine to act selfishly as long as you don't harm others

If T makes you gain weight and E and antidepressants do it too, and do does enjoying good food and not being hungry all the time, then perhaps maybe sometimes joy & weight gain come hand in hand and that's good

honestly the way people will talk about fat or poly people is often super indicative of how they would talk about queer or otherwise marginalized people if it was 10% more socially acceptable to do so within their circles

surely by just reforming marriage to include the icky abnormals like us it'll finally be the innocent legal institution as the very nature of marriage doesn't inherently enforce anything against the ickies

one of my opinions (that seems niche and trivial to cis people, and maybe even a lot of trans people, but I genuinely take pretty seriously) is that we need to stop comparing penises to vaginas as "complementary" structures.
there's this thing where most kids are taught "boys have penises and girls have vaginas" (if they're taught terms for their body parts at all), and even the sort of progressive "trans inclusive" version is like "some people have penises and some people have vaginas."
and I just find it such a rhetorical slight of hand to imply a greater difference between bodies than is actually there.
the penis is not an analogous structure to the vagina. the penis is an analogous structure to the clitoris. if we compared the two, we can much more easily understand this is the same structure that may form in a diversity of ways (e.g. the length, whether the urethra is routed through it, whether or not it is set in a downward position by the surrounding tissue or whether it is only connected at the base, etc.).
similarly, a vagina is not analogous to the penis. the vagina seems much more analogous to the areas of the inguinal canals and perineum, the space in the body that external genitalia can be "tucked" inside of. if we compare the two, we can more easily understand these structures (e.g. not articulating the vagina as an "open hole" but as an area that can accommodate something within it, without being permanently changed).
the way that we constantly pair vaginas with penises in order to make sexed bodies seem more differentiated than they actually are is ideological. it's like saying "men have hands and women have breasts." like sure, that's true in many cases... but women also have hands and men also have breast tissue. why are these traits becoming emblematic of legal/economic categories? what does the exclusion of women's hands and men's breast tissue do to our understanding of the body in general?
(side tangent--and sure, you can say "but penises fit into vaginas" "but hands can fit around breasts" absolutely! those realities don't change by acknowledging they are different parts of the body. penises also fit into anuses and hands also fit around butt cheeks. you can use body parts in many ways. it doesn't mean they need to be used that way, can only be used that way, or is more "natural" to use them in that way than in any other way.)
there are many people who don't even realize they have a clitoris, and I feel like it's pretty much exclusively trans women and their lovers who are aware enough of their bodies to engage in muffing and such. we are denied information on using our own bodies by what parts are erased as "irrelevant" to procreation.
in my opinion, this constant pairing of vaginas with penises as "complementary opposites" creates the impression of a more dramatic difference between "sexes" than exists, and privileges a procreative heterosexual understanding of sexuality over all others.

"I'm not a feedist but I believe their beliefs" is becoming more and more of a solid descriptor of my politics. No matter your desire to participate in the kink, it exists at the intersection of sex liberation and fat liberation and it's important to defend if those causes matter to you. The cultural backlash against it comes from not only the reactionary hatred of kink, but of fat people being sexual, of fatness being associated with anything positive or aspirational, and so many other overlapping things.
I think a lot about an AITA i saw where OP, who considers themself a progressive and tolerant person, was worried they were an asshole for regretting accomodating an employees health and mobility needs at work. Because it turned out his employee was a gainer/feedist who was gaining the weight for sexual gratification reasons. OP was questioning if it's ok to pay for health insurance that covers complications from something a person "did to themselves."
A progressive boss would probably know it's not their business if company health insurance covers treatment of an employee's STI. I doubt they would question pulling health insurance of an employee who broke their leg on a skiing trip, or had an allergic reaction to their dinner. When fat people's pleasure starts to cost money though? It's a lot muddier for people to be consistent in their progressive values.
If gainers yuck you out, consider how many people pursue becoming skinnier because it makes them feel sexy.
Gainers and feedists and other ppl who have food and fat-related kinks in my life have been sooooo fundamental to me getting to the place I am with my own body and ED recovery. <3 y'all

The closest I'll come to "both sides"ing the whole Egg Joke thing is this;
You should respect the boundaries of the people you are interacting with, from your friends to internet personalities. If someone sets a boundary, it's generally your job to not cross it. Conversely, if you yourself are upset by something but don't try to set that boundary, it's kind of on you.
We as people who grew up in a heavily transmisogynist culture are mentally primed to see trans women and trans womanhood as negative and predatory, something people get converted into by dangerous perverts. You are not immune to thinking this. Ask yourself if you hold transfeminine egg jokes to the same standard you hold any other minority or subculture joking about potential members. Stop trying to police one of the most maligned and oppressed social groups in our society.

The problem with “senseless violence” narrative around the UnitedHealthcare CEO is that it ignores the inherent violence of the insurance industry. Denying someone lifesaving care is violence. Subjecting someone to drawn out periods of pain before treatment is violent. The industry is made up of millions of acts of violence everyday, with the CEO at the helm guiding it all. This is not unprovoked and it’s not an overreaction; it is just harder to ignore
