Is the "Devil" a RIGHT-WING Christian?
Sorry for the following lengthy thoughts, but I was showering and ended up thinking about the Bishop who asked Trump to have mercy, and that one guy who apparently Tweeted "Do not commit the sin of empathy" in response to her asking for MERCY. And then I thought to myself "Whatever happened to Do unto others as you would do unto me? Wasn't that something Jesus said?"
I was pretty sure that isn't right so like anyone with a brain might, I went looking to see if I was remembering it right or not. Now, I am not a religious adult, though I went to Church and Sunday school the same as any other Southern Child, but unlike most children I was raised equally with Baptist, Catholic, and Protestant church services before I was 10 years old. All because Dad was looking for a place he could belong.
I, of course, absolutely hated going to church every week because I already knew everything that my 7 year old self needed to about being a good person. Something which was consistently preached at me no matter the church, that made absolutely perfect sense in my tiny autistic mind.
Matthew 7:12 “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets."
AKA: Do unto others as you would do unto yourself. Treat others as you want to be treated. Always.
"Okay, I can do that. Being a good person is super easy." I internalized that one thing religion taught me and try to live my life by it to this day because it is just plain old good advice for life.
So why is it that today's "Christian's" can't do the same?
I'll tell you my theory in their own terms. The Devil has at some earlier point in history infiltrated and corrupted parts of the church and led them all astray from God's true word and into sin disguised as faith. Think about it.
In more realist terms it's probably because greedy men took a good thing and perverted it for their own gain, how else does a religion that teaches tolerance and humility at its very core end up screeching hate from the top of their lungs in such masses. That's not very Jesus of them.
I don't hate religion, or those who want to believe in God, but I do intensely dislike those who have the gall to preach hate and use their religion as the reason to do so.
Bitches.
TLDR; Christian's, WTF happened to Treating others as you wish to be treated? Did the Devil corrupt you? Sincerely, I think you might have been scammed.

I do actually care marginally about the guy in that reddit screenshot who voted for Trump and is now worried that he might lose his medicaid funding because I did not fucking stutter when I said healthcare is a human right but the people losing their internships and job offers to the hiring freeze are straight up hilarious.

TIL that the reason lead levels in children’s blood have dropped 85% in the past thirty years is because of an unknown scientist who fought car companies to end leaded gasoline. He also removed it from paint, suggested its removal from pipes, and campaigned for the removal of lead solder from cans.

Bishop asks Trump to show mercy to LGBTQ people and migrants He was simply asked to show mercy toward our marginalized groups of people. Yet being asked to treat vulnerable groups of men, women and children with some small amount of basic human decency made these MAGA Republicans visibly uncomfortable. To be clear, he wasn't asked to support these groups, or even show them a little kindness. He was simply asked to please treat them like human beings — to not single them out and treat them like subhuman "animals," as Trump has called them. There is something deeply and truly wrong with someone who views acting with even just a bare minimum of human decency is asking too much of them — as if things like Honor, Integrity and Compassion are repugnant to their very soul.

Reminder for when he “saves” it. He was the one who wanted this, and now he gets to be the hero and win favour with young constituents. Don’t give him the credit for fixing his own problem.

No one could’ve seen this coming.
Except maybe everyone who has ever heard anything at all about Trump & Republicans. Or ever spoken to a conservative. Or maybe read the news one time.
