some of you have never spoken to a black person in your life and you should honestly reflect on that a lot instead of using our existence in your heated online debates to own someone who you will never meet in ur life.
some of you gotta realize you're fucking anti black if our only existence matters to you in a political form while never including us or spreading black joy at all.
you take our culture, our words, everything we do and bastardize and water it down and completely erase the origin to make it more digestible to general audiences. I'm tired of whitewashing myself essentially and being a personal minstrel show for some people.
I didn't choose to have a skin color that will force me to realize that I am at the bottom of everyone's heel and that there is antiblackness around everywhere for me and folks like me.

a phrase that kinda bothers me when talking about women's historical roles in europe is "cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the children." you hear it so often, those exact words in the same order even. and once you learn a little more you realize that the massive gaping hole in that list is fiberwork. im not an expert and have no hard numbers, but i wouldnt be surprised if fiberwork took up nearly as much time as the other three tasks combined, so it's not a trivial omission.
it's not a hot take to say that the mass amnesia about fiberwork is linked to the belittlement of women's work in geneal, but i do think there's a special kind of illusion that is cast by "cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the children." you hear that and think "well i cook and clean and take care of children (or i know someone who does) and i have a sense of how much work that is" and you know of course that cooking and cleaning were more laborious before modern technology, but still, you have a ballpark estimate you think, when in fact you are drastically underestimating the work load.
i also think that this just micharacterizes the role of women's work in livelihoods? cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the children are all sisyphean tasks that have to be repeated the next day. these are important, but not the whole picture. when we include all kinds of fiberworkâand other things, such as making candles or soapâwomen's work looks much more like manufacturing, a sphere we now associate more with men's work. i feel like women's connection to making and craftsmanship is often elided.

It took a lot for me to mature enough to accept a lot of the time you just donât get closure like ill never understand why certain things happened or ever receive an apology or talk to certain people again or know the answers to questions I canât ask and people die or leave or drift away sometimes and thereâs no answer. and this is actually starting to sound like some doomer shit but im not joking when i say it actually became way easier to move on with my life when I accepted sometimes things will just be left wrong and canât be made right and thereâs no point in wasting any more of my time on it

Not to go "if you have ADHD just go for a run" or anything, but I am so serious if you have ADHD you should regularly go outside, no headphones no phone no nothing and just stand and observe for a while until you've had enough. Not until you get bored, until you've had enough. Drink your coffee without watching tiktok. Have a bath without music. Turn down the volume in your headphones. I cannot overstate how much learning to be bored is cruicial with ADHD. Life is not just about pleasure, no matter what your dysregulated dopamine system thinks, and when you teach your brain to be okay with being bored, then boring tasks stop feeling like torture. By letting yourself be bored you are yoinking your system out of the high/low binary and allow for the highs to feel like actual highs and not just anything that isn't low. I am so serious go literally touch grass. Listen to the sounds in your flat. Stimulate your body the way it was designed. It lowers anxiety and makes you feel like you're real and best of all it's completely free

I THINK WE CAN AGREE THAT THE PAST IS OVER
RARELY IS THE QUESTION ASKED, IS OUR CHILDREN LEARNING?
OUR ENEMIES NEVER STOP THINKING OF NEW WAYS TO HARM OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PEOPLE, AND NEITHER DO WE
YOU TEACH A CHILD TO LEARN, AND HE OR HER WILL BE ABLE TO PASS A LITERACY TEST
A HUMAN BEING AND A FISH CAN COEXIST PEACEFULLY
FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ONâŚSHAME ON YOU. FOOL ME⌠YOU CANT GET FOOLED AGAIN.
DONâT MISUNDERESTIMATE ME

Sometimes people use ârespectâ to mean âtreating someone like a personâ and sometimes they use ârespectâ to mean âtreating someone like an authorityâ
and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say âif you wonât respect me I wonât respect youâ and they mean âif you wonât treat me like an authority I wonât treat you like a personâ
and they think theyâre being fair but they arenât, and itâs not okay.

I honestly feel like the proliferation of LED headlights was the canary in the coalmine for the general attitude we see in the political climate these days and i'm not even remotely kidding
