3 Big Question , Novel Assignment
1. Is Murder Ever Okay , if it’s to keep secret that cam effect your life forever?
Is murder ever okay? Has a secret ever been so important that a life must be taken in order to keep the secret, a secret? There have been cases where secrets can change lives and save lives like secret war plans , rumors about dangerous people and so on. In this case I'm talking about secrets about people, normal average rumors. In the book One Of Us Is Lying , there are a bunch of kids who know a guy who knows everything about them. He somehow knows a bunch of secrets about people and usually exposes them on an app. In the story he ends up dead and the whole book is about why and how did the guy die? Later in the book you find out that the secrets the guy who died (his name Simon by the way) knows. The main kids/students who know Simon all find out that Simon had secrets about them. Secrets that could ruin their life. Is Murder okay if a secret could ruin your life? An example would be when Bronywn (One of many main characters) get’s her secret exposed. That can potentially kick her out of school. She had the answers to all the work that had been given to her by teachers , by downloading the answers on a USB and using it to complete her work. The problem with this secret is that plagiarism and cheating allows the school to be able to kick you out. Or fail you. But the worst case scenario is that it gives you a motive that kills someone. Which Is why I asked if a secret is ever so important that Simion in this case had to die. Honestly I don’t believe in murder and I don’t think I’ll have a secret where my life would be on the line.
2. Do things that have happened in high school, affect the rest of your life?
High School is a bit different then I would expect it to be in real life. Books, movies and other people's personal lives make high school sound like it’s a big deal and that everything that happens in high school will shape your future. In a way that’s true like grades and Good friends, like family but what actually happens , like relationship issues, bad times and so on. That stuff always fades and never really could shape out your future in the long run. It could make you a better person. Depends on how bad things were. But generally I don’t think I’ll remember much about high school , except for people. So I honestly don’t believe what happens in high school will shape out my future that much. I ask this question because if someone would have died in my school while I attended there still. It would be hard to forget that and like in the book , the person who died was popular for the wrong reasons. So he won’t be missed by most but at the same time , he won’t be forgotten either. This reminds me about the news. A week ago Kim jong un was “Dead” as the news said and people were kind of surprised but sad and happy at the same time. Even though Kim Jong Un is still alive and fakes his death in a way. Anyways I'm just trying to make connections about how people felt about Simon dying and Kim Jong Un death. People missed him but at the same time happy he was gone. For good reasons. So yeah. I don’t think it would affect me much. You just feel sad or bad if something like that happens and I graduate. Sp I don’t think that things that happen in high school would affect the rest of my life.
3. Should Social Media be more serious and monitored more often , then it currently is today? Are Social media platforms doing enough and can they improve?
Social media is extremely popular right now. Unbelievably the most useful resource we have right now for nearly everyone. Social media is also extremely dangerous for anyone. Social media can cause havoc. It brings everyone together from good people to bad people. Everyone is allowed to have social media , as long as they go by the social media platform. Which in some cases can allow bad people to do bad things. An example would be A guy named Simion. Yes that guy from my novel. He has a social media account that exposes the truth about people, and he gets away with it because it doesn't go against the platforms he's posting these secrets on. Some of the platforms mentioned in the book are one that are really popular and that I'm using right now. Yes Simion uses Tumblr to post things about people in his school. These things that he posts are very offensive and personal to people in his school, but because it doesn’t offend a huge majority of people, it’s allowed to be posted. I personally think that these things happen in real life. It hasn’t really happened to me. I know some friends like to make jokes and make fun of everyone. But we were friends. So i'm okay with it. But other people go beyond and talk a lot of stuff about someone they don’t know well. Which is bad and I think Social media platforms should keep an eye out for bullying and rumors to stop spending so much. Some social media platforms allow you to report but they take forever and why can’t social media platforms have a bot or hire someone to prevent bad things being said about people. I think Social Media platforms can improve in a big way and contribute more.

A Note to someone in my novel
Dear Bronwyn
I love your name and the way you think about people and situations. You're a problem thinker and very open and friendly toward others . The only advice I will give you is to mind your own business , sometimes things that aren’t your problem should be left alone. Don’t try to solve a problem if you're not involved. Also try not to be friends with class clowns like Simon and never talk back to a teacher , especially in detention. It’s good that you go to church and you love your mom and dad. The death of Simon wasn’t your fault and hopefully Simon will rest in peace. Even thought he was going to post something very inappropriate about you. You knew he didn’t deserve to die and that the truth about you taking all the answers from your teacher to get good grades for the rest of the year isn’t serious enough for you to kill Simon. I knew you were really close to Simon , even if he was the class clown and had a social media account that ruined people's day , you know that death wasn’t the right response. I’m also sorry that you have to go through all this drama between your parents and the cops. If you think about it , if all the police had was evidence of you doing something bad and Simion knew about it and was going to tell everyone , you would be the only murder suspect. Because that’s the only evidence the police have. You might get in trouble for stealing the answer for school but at least you didn’t kill Simon. Hopefully you can live your normal life after all this stuff is done and hopefully they find the true killer of Simion. Anyways this note is for you to hopefully feel better after all this is done with. Sincerly Adil.B

Assignment 2 Important Quotations from One Of Us Is Lying Novel
1. The first quote I would like to talk about is “If all you knew of Bayview High was Simon Kelleher’s gossip app, you’d wonder how anyone found time to go to class.” In the very beginning of the book , the first person introduced was Bronwyn. She mentions an app and another character that plays a very important part in the novel. Since I already read 100 pages of the novel , I learned that the app Simon made has a lot of gossip that is very personal to everyone in the school and the people mentioned in the book. The quote was evidence to why Simon out of all the characters died and no one else did. He was set up or targeted.
2.“Leah snorts. “Yeah, right. Good riddance.” page 54 Cooper was introduced and heard about the Simion accident. Leah is a friend of copper and said good riddance.” This shows a theme of hate and can also mean Leah is guilty. A lot of people hated Simion for his app.
 3. “I guess people want to pay their respects,” I hedge. Page 54 Copper didn’t care about Simon death. , he doesn’t go on his phone much and does not know anything about Simon that much. The app was only drama about girls. Cooper wasn’t involved. This quote really just proves Copper has nothing to do with his murder.
4.  “I did feel bad watching Simon die. I’m not a sociopath. In that moment, as he turned that horrible color and fought for air—if I could have stopped it, I would have.” This quote is a email or message that was made on tumblr, about Simon murder. Someone is making these emails about Simon and no one in the story knows who. The quote is related to the story in a big way. It’s saying someone did kill Simon on purpose or claims to be.
 5. “She always says that, as if life is full of great shit I can store up and report every Sunday.” This quote is about a character named Nate. He has a probation officer who looks after him because Nate does a lot of bad stuff. This quote is a great way to introduce a new character and what he's like without having to say anything directly about the character.
 6. “Like how I spent Friday night with Ivy League–bound Bronwyn Rojas and didn’t disgrace myself.” This quote can clear up some of the things I was trying to say in the first assignment. Nate is the bad boy that is dating or in a relationship with Bronwyn Rojas. Aka Ms.Rojas. One of the characters I mention in the first assignment. The quote also explains Nate personally and his relationship with another important character in the novel.
7. “We could be surrounded by walking dead in the zombie apocalypse and she’d look for the bright side.” This quote is about Nate’s probation officer. Apparently she is very nice and always likes to be positive despite the situation. She might play a big part in the story since Nate was in the room when Simion died and an officer watches after him.
8. “ Not only me. I follow their gazes to Bronwyn, who’s near the front with her parents, and to Cooper and the blond girl, sitting in the middle with their friends. The back of my neck tingles, and not in a good way.” This quote is on page 58 and it’s about Nate feeling about the cops looking at everyone who was involved with the incident. I think this quote is important because despite Nate already having an officer with him, he is still being watched and so are people close to him. The cops might think Nate did it or the officer helped. I don’t know but this quote definitely says something about Nate.
9. “I can tell right away he’s not bush-league like Officer Budapest. He smiles like we’ve met before. “Nate Macauley?” he asks. “You got a few minutes, son?” Now this is more than one quote but like both of them are about how Nate somehow knew about this cop and the cop wants to talk to Nate. The thing is , Nate chapter ends right after the cop asks the question “you got a few minutes, son?” This might mean the cop is Nate's father , maybe. Wild guess. Or the cops think Nate did it. Very important quote.
 10. “Maybe the police think one of us wrote them as some kind of awful joke. If they ask me who, I guess I’d have to say Bronwyn” This quote is targeted towards another character in the novel. It’s important because Addy thinks Bronwyn is the one posting all these cruel emails about Simon's death. I mention already quotation 4 of Simon's death threat email messages. Also the quote is saying that Addy hates Bronwyn because she is a smart-ass
 11. “How? Simon’s dead; he can’t have published this. Has someone else taken over for him? The Tumblr poster?” This quote is on page 63 , apparently Simon's blog or well app has been taken over by someone and Simon's information is still being leaked. The cops are telling this information to Addy. The quote is Addy;’s reaction to Simon's social media being exposed.
12. “but those other stories were about Bronwyn Rojas, Nate Macauley, and Cooper Clay. The four of you who were in the room with Simon when he died.” This quote was said page 64 , by the detective Addy is being questioned by. She tells Addy a huge hint to the investigation of Simon's death. The 4 people in the room , other than Simion are for sure being held responsible for Simon's death. Also Addy is the only one out of the other 4 knowing at this time about this information. Very important quote to point out in this novel at this time. Since I'm only about half way done with the book.

One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus Assignment 1
One of us is lying is a Mystery book , that involves themes like Mystery , Frustration , Trust , Hate and so on. In this post I'll be talking about at least 4. The 4 I already mention. Mystery , frustration , trust and love. So For now the book is pretty straight forward. There is no main character but there are multiple characters in one story. It starts off with Rojas and her friend named Simon which is like the best friend and knows a bunch of her classmates. Nate is a bully. Everyone hates Nate. Addy is a good friend of one of Rojas friends , but they are not close. Anyways. They were all in detention until Simon got an allergic reaction to something and had to go to the hospital. Now I read 50 pages of the book and the themes I found that are present all have to do with the 2 characters that were introduced heavily so far. Rojas and Addy. Addy has a love issue with her current boyfriend and has family issues with a girl named Ashton. Addy barely talks about her problems but mostly about Ashton dating a cousin of hers. She does Not like that. Also when Addy was introduced in the novel , she was interviewed by the police about the situation at the school that happened during the lock down (Simion reaction) I don’t know if he is dead or sick. I don’t know. All I know is Simion had to be sent to the hospital and the 4 other kids that were with Simion which is including Rojas and Addy all are being questioned.  Addy not really coming out. She didn’t tell the police men very honestly and Rojas hasn’t been asked what has happened , neither the rest of the characters. All I know is Rojas and the other kids are frustrated being in detention for someone's phone going off. The novel starts off with a small mystery that just keeps growing with more mysteries , like what made Simon have an allergic reaction? Why is Addy not telling the police officers the truth? There are a lot of mysteries yet to be solved. There are so far at least 13 characters but only 5 main characters since there were only 5 students in the classroom during the incident (Simion) . There was also a nurse and the teacher who was supposed to be in the classroom looking after the class until there was a crash right outside there school. Maybe the crash had to do with something with Simion. At this point everything is a mystery.  Addy thinks that the nurse who’s name is Ms. Grayson might have liked  Simion. But she’s not certain because apparently there are a lot of hot men in their school, Addy say’s. Addy might think that the nurse might have caused the reaction Simion had. Which I think can work just because the Ep pen wasn’t where it was supposed to be when Rojas had to run to the nurse office to get.

Eulogy to hell of a dame
1.I think the theme of the poem is about a partner or fiance who has passed away. In the poem it tells us about a person who was sad and depressed over life. When you ready the poem you can easily tell that someone loved another person or living thing because the poem starts off with “some dogs who sleep At night must dream of bones and I remember your bones in flesh”. In these lines or stanza the author was trying to tell us that the person in the poem has loved someone. Dogs are supposed to mean or symbolize people or a living thing and when it says “at night must dream of bones and i remember your bones” he is talking about love. Because dogs like bones and if dogs who sleep and dream about bones but certain bones to a certain someone, he likes that someone. The person in the poem liked someone or something very much. I also know that this certain someone who was loved passed away because in the poem it mentions the time this special someone has been dead for. I understand the poem more when I find a theme in a poem because I can try to track back whatever was said in the poem and relate what was being said to a theme. This allows me to know what the poem might be trying to say and makes it interesting and fun to read the poem back.
2. I actually love this poem , so yes I do agree with this poem because of the themes that can be identified in the poem. I know this poem can have many themes but I strongly believe this poem is about a lost loved one and I can relate a lot of lines in the poem , proving my theme of a lost loved one to be true.
 3. I have a lot of favorite lines but i'll name my top 3 lines “rotten memories of a rotten past, and you finally got out by dying”,”you always cursed when you drank, your hair coming down you wanted to explode out of what was holding you” and “here's a drink to your bones that this dog still dreams about.” I personally love this poem because it reminded me of someone I knew very closely. This poem kinda describes the way she would act and be. She would always be sad , depressed and never like to talk about her real emotions. She would always hide feelings, thoughts and whatever she felt that was hurting her. Some days she would tell me all the horrible things that happen in her life and the way she feels. She even told me that it’s hard for her to be honest and it’s hard not talking about her past because it wasn’t that nice. It was full with “Rotten memories”. This poem is very emotional and can relate to a lot of real life situations that happen in everyday lives.
5. Yes I can relate to this poem. This poem feels like it came right out of my life story. Like not word for word and not every line can be related to my life , but in a way it can. I had a very bad relationship with a person and I felt the same when I was with that person and reading this poem. There so much I can relate to in this poem , a good line I like to relate to is “by dying leaving me with the Rotten present”. This line can relate to me because when someone close to you has been lost , you can sometimes be mad or just angry at what has happened. Tough people don’t like to show sadness , so they get mad/angry instead. When the poem says “leaving me with the rotten present” it means that life right now is shit and horrible. Also the leaving part was mentioned because of the dead love one. Also when the line says dead , I think it’s referring to literally death or maybe depression. Like the poem trying to say by being depressed , you died and left me in this shity world we live in. I can relate to that because I don’t like the world we live in and I would hate if someone left me , by leaving (dying) because there to depressed about this shity world.

Crash Question
 1) List of Characters on a scale to 1-5 how likeable and scale A-E how moral : 1. Anthony (ludacris) 5/5 likeable and B somewhat good/moral 2. Daniel (Michael Peña) 5/5 likeable and A very moral/good 3. Officer Tom (Ryan Phillippe) 5/5 likeable and A very good/moral 4. L.T Dixon (Keith David) 1/5 not likeable and E completely immoral
2) 2. Crash the movie is a very good film that takes place in modern time. It has many characters from a wide variety of races that are mostly criticised. In my opinion the film is trying to accomplish that everyone has a moral. I know that the film is trying to teach us that everyone has a moral because the movie starts off with a bunch of characters who all have good and bad morals towards other races or a relationship. At the end of the movie/film all the characters' morals change in a way, from good to bad or bad to good. An example would be the young boy officer (Officer Tom) who was very nice to people (color people) , he ended up killing a colour person. Not on purpose but killing is immoral. His morals were good but in the end he still ended up killing someone, which proves my point that this movie tries to teach us about people morals and how they can change in certain situations throughout life. The film does an excellent job showing us how people's lives and morals can change throughout situations and events. The film also does a great job at portraying a wide variety of characters and teaching us about how some people view others and shape their morals. An amazing example would be the store owner (Farhad) , he was a stubborn man who doesn’t like to fight and argue. He wants things done and has a very negative moral. Not a bad moral at first , until his store got robbed because he was stubborn and didn’t listen to the guy who was helping him fix a door which was broken. His negative morals lend to his bad morals. When I say negative moral I mean like he has good morals, it’s  just that he is very mean and not nice towards others and when I say bad morals , I'm talking about stealing , killing , bad things. After the store owner got robbed he wanted to kill the person who was trying to help him , because the store owner blamed him for not fixing a door which led the robbers in. The store owner finds out where the guy who was supposed to fix the door live and when the store owner tried to kill the guy , he fails and regrets trying after because he almost shot the guy’s little daughter. He then changes his morals from hating the guy , wanting to fight and kill him, to being sorry and thankful to god for not killing someone. If the store owner didn’t go through those events , his morals would never change but because they happen his moral change dramatically , from a bad guy to a sorry better person. Crash the film is an amazing way of showing how people's morals can change throughout their life and how there is always good and bad in a person.

Poem ( Train Stop )
A train that passes by a train station. Loud . Fast. Can’t be seen when it passes by . The train can only be seen when it stops. The Train doesn’t pass by everyday and the train can’t stop every time , the train hold‘s many secrets and beautiful sights that can only be seen when it stops. The train only stop once at the station it passes. The train still passes but never stops till today and forever.

Unit 1, Activity 3
2. If people were to open my social media profile , there would be multiple stories told. I would have sad and happy stories , people would see a unique story. I post whatever I want on social media. I have 2 profiles that show many different stories. But the stories that people see don’t genuinely reflect who I am all the time. My social media is full of jokes and sometimes sad stories from experience in life. Some people who view my social media think that what I post on media really says everything about me and some think that my post doesn't mean anything. Honestly I know what I post and why , so I know for sure that what I post doesn’t really reflect who I am. People who view my social media will think I'm just an average guy like anyone else. Nothing special or crazy. I have good and bad days. But I know for sure that I don’t feel that way. My social media profile doesn’t really say anything about me. The story people would see about me on my social media profile does not reflect who I am. Things I post don’t fully show who I am and what type of person I truly am. An example would be if I post a sad post about something , it might not be about me but someone else. But because I post it , people would see me sad or something and sometimes I do post sad things that are about me and my past. I have a hard time not talking about bad stories in the past. It helps when I talk about them. When I'm sad or happy. That’s why when I post things it doesn’t really reflect who I am. But maybe who I was before.

Unit 1 , Activity 1
3. Anais Granofsky is an actor who lived a rough childhood from birth to her adulthood. She has been thought a journey that can say a lot about her. Today I'm going to talk about Anais Granofsky's life and how it relates to the one of the four benefits to sharing your story. The benefit to sharing your story, I think relates to Anais Granofsky life story is “Re-affirming your values”. In Anais Granofsky's story she starts off with her mother and father struggling with the birth of Anais. Anais story is about how she overcomes the problems with having a two-sided family. One side was rich and another was poor. Anais had to live with both sides. Her grandmother would take care of her during weekends, her grandmother was wealthy and rich, while her mom was poor and had to take care of Anais during weekdays. Anais had to hide the fact that she had a rich grandmother and her mother wouldn’t want any help from the grandmother. When Anais wrote this story about herself, it felt like she was trying to give an important message by telling her story of her struggles. In the third benefit of sharing your story , one of the examples of how an author felt about their work is that  "I think writing about it has helped me kind of…I don’t know, redouble my efforts and try to make sure that I am living up to the expectations that I set for myself. And…how I should…how I know I should be treating other people and everything." When Anais was writing this story , she felt the same way the person in the article, about the benefits of telling your story felt. At the end of Anais Granofsky's story of herself , she mentions where she is in life now and how successful and happy she is. Anais also from her story says “All of these experiences gave me the gift of empathy. From titans of industry to a single mother trying to survive in the projects, we were all just doing the best we could with what we had.” Anais even re-affimers her values at the end of her story which is why the story applies to third of the four benefits to sharing your story. She looks back at the ups and downs in her life that makes her more successful and realize how lucky she is and she gotta keep going
