"I knew we were friends for a reason," Adeline replied, smiling at the other, "I don't know how anyone could do anything but this in heat like this."
"In this weather? Nothing," Harper commented. "I'm like a lizard, I love the heat like this, I will always soak up the sun if given the chance."

Adeline: War? Why would we be at war? Adeline: I certainly do know that look Adeline: [sends selfie] Adeline: Like that? Adeline: Texted him, no response yet but I'll phone him on my break in a bit.
Ezra: How very observant of you. Remind me are we supposed to be at war?
Ezra: I assumed as much, you're almost as bad as him for working.
Ezra: Thanks, that'd be appreciated. And if he is, I am sure you can do a bang on job of mimicking the look of disapproval I would give him and the tut for added emphasis.

🏖️ - go to the beach - @hcrperleeclcrk
"This was an excellent idea if I do say so myself," Adeline replied as she lay back down against the towel with her sunglasses on. She had undone her bikini string and tied it around her back instead to avoid any off tan lines, "What is better than a trip to the beach?"

"Well I'm intrigued solely by that comment," Adeline replied, "So please, bring it by the bar sometime and I'll give it a read."
“Changing habits hm… Well I like to think that reading is one of the best habits a person can get into so you’re already ahead of the game.” He offered in a friendly manner. “Somehow I think you would find Northanger Abbey quite intriguing. I’d be interested to hear your take on it when you are done but yes, by all means you are more than welcome to borrow it.”

"Only if you're nice to me," Adeline replied, "And don't you have your own food?"
"Are you going to share any of that?" Gabe asked with a bright chuckle. "Or am I going to have to steal some off of you?"

"You're a big boy, Frederick. You can say no to another round if you want," Adeline teased and then shrugged, "Who says I have one? I just want to get drunk myself and I want company. My motives are entirely selfish."
"If I didn't know you better, I'd think you were trying to get me drunk, Adeline." Fred stated with a laugh when another drink was set in front of him despite him already saying the previous one was his last. Not that he didn't appreciate it of course. "What is your endgame here, hm?"

🌧️ - get caught in a sudden downpour - @ingridhagen
Adeline looked up from her book as the pair sat just outside the coffee shop, "Oh shit, was that a raindrop?" she asked, looking at the other, "Is it raining?"

🌮 - stop by a food truck - @gabelarkin
"Another person might be bothered that the server thought this much food was for two people but," Adeline shrugged, "I'm too hungry to give a shit."

Adeline shrugged, “The nice weather, trying to change habits, feeling nostalgic, a couple of other things maybe. All I do on my breaks normally is smoke and eat so I thought maybe I’d change things up,” she explained, “I have a copy of Sense and Sensability. I don’t think I’ve ever read it though. Maybe I’ll give it a go. If you’re willing to part with your copy of Northanger Abbey for a bit, I wouldn’t mind reading it.”
adelinexmulciber:
“I don’t really read outside of the house usually so I suppose it wouldn’t have come up,” Adeline agreed. Elijah had never been her teacher but perhaps him being one had stopped her from getting to know him more properly, “You do? Which ones?”
“What has changed it today then?” Elijah questioned before he hummed and thought about the answer to Adeline’s question. “I hate to be predictable but Pride and Prejudice is one but also Sense and Sensibility, not to mention Northanger Abbey.” He offered up. “If you haven’t already read them, I would highly recommend and I’d be more than happy to lend you my copies if you wanted to test the waters of them.”

“I’m not entirely sure that that was what they meant when they said that,” Sam said, biting his lip lightly. “Why exactly did you take it that way? Do they have something against you, or something?”
“Sorry, do you know them?” Adeline asked, “Because I do and I know the situation better than you do. Why do you see the need to stick your nose into other people’s business?”
"I'm not entirely sure that that was what they meant when they said that," Sam said, biting his lip lightly. "Why exactly did you take it that way? Do they have something against you, or something?"

“It’s no big deal, really,” the blonde insisted with a light wave of her hand. “I’m glad that it was a suggestion that proved useful for you though.”

“Oh Good, for a minute I thought I might have to beg,” Harper replied with a laugh. “Though, I think the owner is at the stand, trust me, he’s going to try to convince you to add more flowers to yours. It’s not an upcharge, I just think he has like the ‘too much’ gene when it comes to flowers.”
“Nah, you know I won’t say no to spending time with you,” Addy smiled and then laughed, “There are worse genes to have to be fair.”

lizziemulciber:
Lizzie practically growled at her sister’s words. “You have no idea what you’re even talking about Adeline,” she said. “Fine, run Addy, it’s what you do best, isn’t it? Don’t talk about shit you don’t even know about.”
Adeline stopped and tensed, “Run?” she hissed and turned to get right in hersister’s face, “I didn’t run. They sent me away. They ripped me from my life because they wanted me to get in line and using me as their punching bag wasn’t working. The couple they sent me to? When they weren’t out doing Merlin knows what and leaving me alone for days, they were just as bad as mum and dad,” she had never told anyone that fact before, “You’re the one who knows fuck all. You think because you didn’t have to see me get cut up and bruised that it wasn’t happening there? So I came back here to people who actually cared about me, not people who pretend to for the sake of image. You want to see that as running away? Fine. What reason did I have to stay? To call it home? My parents beat me, my siblings turned a blind eye. You? You asked me to cover my injuries. You’re complicit,” she took a step back, “Let’s not pretend you care about my health and habits now. Not when I know you’re still wrapped around their fingers. I don’t care which one of you told them, I don’t care if you didn’t know before. You still know they did it. Percy reached out, made sure I was okay. What did you do? You certainly didn’t care about my health then. Has something changed?”

“Maybe you can tuck that one away someplace safe. Keep it in tact so you can revisit it for nostalgia’s sake?” Chloé suggested to the other.
“Actually, that’s a good idea. I might do that,” Adeline closed the book and looked at it, “Thanks for the sugestion.”

“And would you even believe me if I said that I didn’t know?” she asked, raising her eyebrows. “Careful there Addy, getting close to caring level,” Lizzie said, her tone slight teasing. “I have to pick up my food order, but obviously you distracted me. I’m blaming you for the cold food now.”
“What? Did they tell you they just wanted to have a conversation? Tell me, was it you that told them I was back or was it my other brother? Still, given how wrapped around their fingers you are, you must have known that they knew,” Adeline replied and then scoffed, “Oh no, you being arrested is no skin off my back. Just warning you since you haven’t seemed to realise that they’re assholes,” she shrugged, “Good. I hope they spat in it,” she retorted, turning to walk away.
