Few Good Habits of Professional Live Poker Players
Winning is a Habit.
Do you believe in this saying?
Many successful people are often heard saying this. And, when it is about winning at a Poker table, consistently from the first game till the end, it certainly holds true for the one. I am an avid Poker player. I have played Poker in many offline as well as online Poker tournaments – in some I have won and in some I have lost. But I have seen in a few live poker rooms in Goa, Bangalore, how expert players go on an uninterrupted winning streak. It’s truly a kind of euphoria spread around the atmosphere.
Luckily, I got the chance to speak with some of such master strategists. I have jolted down a few habits of good Poker players, which I believe are important to know before you actually develop curiosity to know what are live poker rooms. Read them on and apply them to your Poker strategy to win big.
Intelligence & Self Discipline
Intelligence and self-discipline are two important habits that can make miracle for Poker players. Poker is a very exciting game in which players tend to be high on their adrenaline rush. As wisely said, it’s not the means, but the end that matters, so also the outcome of the game. And to become a consistent player throughout the game among so many distractions, you must possess these two habits. As a matter of fact, everyone is born with limited intelligence, which will not remarkably increase all of a sudden; however, self-discipline is such a trait that will silently improve your insight about the game and the way it should be played. If we speak the practical implication of them, self-discipline will help you in manging your bankroll, proper game selection, efficient decision making and hiding your emotions.
Goal Setting
Goal setting is an important habit. It involves great analysis and studying the atmosphere around you. The goal should be measurable and quantifiable. You will have to inculcate a habit of foreseeing the outcomes accordingly your goal should change should every time.
Live a Balanced Life
Healthy mind and body are important to win anything and everything. As Poker is a skill based mind game, it demands a sound mind and a healthy body. Do not over stress yourself before playing. As such live a balanced life on your personal front, which includes following a proper routine. You ned to devise a well thought out strategy and strictly sticking to it.
Study Poker Everyday
The secrete behind consistently winning big Poker tournaments is the knowledge and experience that these players possess. It is good to adopt the habit of reading Poker every day. Spend at least two hours every day. There are many informative books, websites, popular Poker forums, where experts share their views and run discussion sessions. These are good platforms to read about Poker and know new tricks about the game.
Stay Positive
One of the most important habits of goof Poker players is staying positive. It helps you to refrain from taking hasty decisions and end up taking a bad beat. However, it is equally difficult to master this habit of staying positive. Play your best game and analyse the result thereafter, whether you win or lose. This way, you can learn from your mistakes and improve further on your positive points.
I hope you will gain thoughtful insight from this post and apply them to your Poker strategy. Well, sometimes a few beginners have also given a few good tips. So, keep your eyes and ears open and receive whatever good habits you come across.

Experienced Vs. Inexperienced Player in Poker
Well, experience matters in every sport and poker is no exception. It is also true that inexperienced players are the bread and butter for the most experienced players, both in online as well as live poker tournaments. Also, card game players with years of experience cash in the most opportunities while inexperienced players offer easy money in many situations. However, never ever assume that inexperienced players will always be easy opponents. As they say- 'luck favours the brave'. This also happens in poker games where sometimes luck smiles on the inexperienced players and they succeed to take down the pot from the ones who think that they are unbeatable to weak players in poker.
With long experience, players however have numerous tricks up their sleeves. Unlike newbies, the shark-type players know how to exploit fish types in the field. They know when to hold and fold their hand. Their every action, including raising, re-raising, calling, checking or folding speaks volumes of their skills in poker. One good thing about them is that they can usually read the tells fairly well. The big opportunities with low risks and high potential are always the key focus of the strong players.
Talking about inexperienced poker players, the big downside with them is that they don't have a good hand range to play. Hand ranges and bet sizing is something that most weak players don't understand and this makes them vulnerable to strong poker brats with years of experience. It is always important in card games to know when and how much to bet. This is very well-known to experienced players, but weak players can't do this smartly. This is perhaps the big reason why some of them end up staking big money in a situation that does not demand it. It is to be noted that there is the least role of luck in poker, it is a game of skills where players with smart strategies often win big.
In poker, you should know what you and your opponents are doing. The problem with inexperienced poker players is that many a times they don't know what they are doing. It has been observed that these players miss out on well-timed raises or folds. Sometimes it also happens that they go all-in even with the weaker hand. Some of them just stick to playing top 10 hands only, which makes them exploitable to experienced players at the table. One common trait of newbies is that they play too many hands and often show down hands like Ace-x, K-8, Q-5 or any suited cards on the table.
Most inexperienced poker players, both in live and online poker tournaments in India, will limp a lot or call a raise just to see the flop. There are players who play passively, there are the ones who bluff too much and then there are people who play too many hands. Some of them prefer to chase by calling bets on draws. Having said that, you should not take weak players lightly as they are the ones who trouble themselves as well as trouble you as well. So be careful when playing against newbies.

Tips to Become a Professional Live Poker Room Player
Let’s start on a simple and serious note- playing live poker professionally is no joke. If you are familiar with the poker world and have already played poker games both online and offline, then one thing you must have realized that poker is not about luck. When you play professional poker, you are actually playing it for your life. Poker earnings are basically your bread and butter and a source to pay your bills. So, before you say, I know all that, here is something that you should understand about the different live poker rooms in India and how to come out as a long-run professional winner.
Are you good in Maths?
This is one of the most crucial questions you should ask yourself, before getting into live professional poker. As a professional player, you need to play the calculative game, instead of attacking the weak players. When you get a decent hand, you should strategically strike to win a good size pot. You need to wait for the percentages to line up in your favor. Do you know that successful players play only 20% of the hands they are dealt? And the remaining 80% of the time they are just waiting and watching. A professional poker player knows his stats and you’ll often find him talking about terms like expected value, preflop raise percentage, call percentage, fold percentage etc.
Are you ready to study hard?
Yes, it is a indoor game, but yet it will make you study and practice every day. Even though the game looks exciting and an easy way to earn quick cash, professional poker is a completely different bowl game. You need to strategize, analyze, learn and practice every single day. Moreover, you should connect to poker forums and discuss the new tricks of the game, should join groups to understand where you are going wrong and should have a support network to help improve your analytical equation. Playing practice sessions and spending hours on Skype with other players to educate yourself should be a daily activity that you have to do. Take it like a regular job where you are constantly driving to improve yourself and going up the ladder.
How you Pick your Opponents?
One of the key skills required for offline poker is reading your opponents. Remember, you’re playing poker professionally, and whatever you earn is your salary and you need to take it back home. There is no room for luck or chance, and the stakes you play are higher. So, rather than picking tables where you don’t know how your opponent plays, select a table with opponents whom you can battle out. Keep your ego aside, know your limits and play only at those limits that you can beat.
Do you Enjoy Playing Poker?
The last thing we want to say about live poker is that you should enjoy the game and revel in the complete experience of playing poker professionally. Once you keep this in mind, you will see a completely different set of opponents in front of you, an offbeat level of seriousness in the game and a distinctive level of skill set. Take them as targets that you have to beat. No matter how hard you play, it is quite possible that you may not win a tournament on the first day and that’s all good. You just need to be consistent and learn from the mistakes you made.
We hope these tips for live poker rooms will help you plan and decide whether to play poker professionally or recreationally.

Playing Style-Online Poker Vs Live Poker
Poker is a game which was developed in casinos, home, back office. So live poker played in a dynamic environment of people gathering. Each having their own way of presentation while playing. Live poker in India is played with full excitement for spending leisure time. It have become so popular that it had spread to every nook and corner of India. But poker craze in India came with online poker site. Indian started playing poker at home in their computer. Today poker in India is mostly played online.
Rules and strategy are same in both online and live poker. Player dealt two cards flop/turn/bet and pot awarded to best five card. But there are major difference when it comes to playing style while playing live poker and online poker. Both give a different feel and passion. There is a various difference one has to make lot of change in his style while switching over from live poker to online poker or vice versa.
First difference is of environment live poker played in casino has a beaming environment. Player move from one table to other, attainder carrying edibles and liquor, smell filled with cigarette drenched packet and venation perfume stuff. For online poker one has to move from bad to computer giving entry fee and start playing. Having snacks and drink from his own kitchen. Relaxing at home hearing favorite music and acting in a manner one wants. Whereas in casino one has to act in a discipline manner. Handling chips, picking hole card discretely and opponent staring you from each side.
Other difference is of speed of the game. Live game are slower than online poker game Hand to hand ratio is low in live game. At a live table with top-shelf dealer one can get maximum 30 hand per hour whereas at standard online table hand to hand ratio is 60. Other factor is player can play on multiple table in online scenario increasing number of hands per hour, this is the reason that give ability to online poker to be much more profitable than live poker. Though lowest limit in live poker is more compared to online poker. The number of hand increase the bankroll in online poker. Another reason player get to dealt more hands online is that setup of online forces to act in very small amount of time causing player to make more mistakes results in making more money.
Player has to adjust on the point of multi way pot when he switch from live poker to online. As in online poker maximum pots are heads up to the flop with more player come more chance to win whereas in live poker there is multiple pots so player need on average better hand to win at showdown.
But truth is whether you play live or online your goal remain the same. You have to make best hand for show and compel opponent to fold, study the opponent, his playing habit and play to win. So one should enjoy the excitement of poker

What’s better – Online Poker or Live Poker?
Rapid growth has been noticed in Poker in India that too within a brief time frame. Despite the fact that the game can be played in two ways i.e.: Live and Online yet latter has the bigger impact then the former as of late. Albeit live poker is gaining traction, there are a few things you can do in online poker which is not possible in the poker rooms in India. Underneath given are a few focuses which can give you an insight in the differences.
Selecting the Game
Player’s main objective is to play a game where one can get the maximum advantage. In online poker, there are tables with different stakes, game play and odds. In live poker, there are other factors that come into play, like no. of players, bet size, time of the day, etc. While the web offers an array of amusement for any poker player, the live game is more appropriate for the more seasoned ones.
Straightforward Admission
This is in relation with the game choice. Live poker is to a greater degree simple to get to. You can call over your friends and play even at the solace of your own home. No compelling reason to get out and go far. The same can be said for online poker as well if you have a PC and web association.
Human Interaction
Online poker rooms don't allow you human interaction as much as live poker domains. To play live poker in India, you need to have to deal for dealers, wait staff, other players etc whereas in online poker there is no such interactions. While on one hand, for some players interactions might also mean distractions, for others, these help create a comrade which improves their own performance.
Winning
You can always win money by poker card games but the question is how much. Generally live poker has a higher stake level than online. But this has a flip side too, slowly advancing to high stake tables take a lot of time, practise and experience.
Multi Tasking
You can't do different things when in physical poker rooms whereas while playing on the web, you can cook supper, converse over the telephone or email individuals. You can even talk to your family in person or over the phone. However, the atmospher in live poker rooms in Bangalore is completely of the game and the action.

5 Key differences in Live Cash games and Live Tournaments
Poker, obviously is not a new word for any of us! Most of us are well aware of card games and poker is one of the most popular skill based card game played in India. The game is available in different variants and formats. It can be played both online and live. Many prestigious poker rooms in Bangalore host poker tournaments in India. Poker is usually played in two main formats – cash games and tournament play.
Few key differences between live cash games and live tournaments are –
Time commitment – in live cash games, we can sit down and leave whenever we like. But in live tournaments, players have to sit and have to play until they are out of chips. In short, tournaments offer players a significant amount of playing time.
The re-buy option – In cash games, players can re-buy chips whenever they like but Re-buys are not allowed in live tournaments except in the case of re-buy tournaments. Once a player loses all his chips, he/she is out of the game.
Bankroll Differences – Live cash games are believe to yield a positive result for a poker pro than a well structured tourney. Though it does not offer a descent share of prize pool as compared to tournament with an equal buy-in amount.
Variance – In live cash games, players have an advantage of fixed blinds, as per the stakes. While in live tourneys, blinds keep on changing or should I say escalating after certain intervals.
Quality of Players – Usually it has been observed that there are more weak players in live tourneys, but it’s not like you will be playing against so called fishes. Tourneys also offer you an opportunity to sit and compete against pros which is not always possible at cash games. Cash games undoubtedly allow you to compete with a large number of players but mostly those who have similar level of skill and experience like you. Players, who love to explore their limits, prefer playing tourneys over cash games.
Ring games –Cash games are often termed as “ring games”. The logic behind lies in the sitting arrangement at the poker table. Usually, 9 or 10 players can join on the same table hence the name “ring game”. In Live poker tournaments, table balancing is done to accommodate all players as and when they are busted.
The intricacy of this game lies in it’s intriguing nature. Some people prefer the challenge of playing live cash games in India, while others have the urge to play in prestigious live poker play-offs. Though it is totally a personal choice whether to opt for cash games or tourney but above differences will surely help you on how to win money either way.

4 Basic Tips to Follow When Playing Poker in a Casino
Are you a poker player? Do you play poker online? Planning to switch to live poker? Are you aware of casino rules? Here are some tips for beginners to follow while playing poker in a casino:
Get a Player’s Card
Whichever casino you chose to play, the first important thing you need is a players card. Generally, all the casinos and poker rooms provide a player card in order to track your play and issue freebies. Player’s card is a must if you wish to play live tournaments, and also help you to register for the upcoming games in near future.
Know the Games
As a live poker player, you need to be aware of the regular games running in the casino. This helps you to save your time of exploring the game board and then signing up for the game because casinos list not only the poker games but all the card games running every hour in poker rooms. Thus, if you know the name of the game you want to play, just can quickly register for the same. Further, do keep a check on games board for new poker tournaments.
Poker Chips and Poker Table
Once you get registered for the game, it’s time to buy poker chips and chose the table. So, head towards the cashier and buy the chips. You can either buy chips in bulk or you can buy the chips for a specific table. In casinos, you get an option to chose a seat if there are multiple tables and open seats available. If the table on which you wish to play is full, you can join the waiting list and go play the other game as the floor person will inform you when its your turn to join the table.
Change Game and Table
Generally, in casinos, you are locked into the seat of the table chosen. And, if anytime you wish to change the table, you need to call and request the floor person for the same. Most of the casinos allow the table change, but there is always a waiting list, so you will have to join the queue to reach the next table. Moreover, you can also change the seat on the same poker table. All you need to do is request the dealer regarding the change of seat and he will make the change as soon as any seat is vacant. Further, you can switch to a different game anytime by calling a floor person/ manager and asking them to register or put you on the list of specific game. Don’t forget to keep your player’s card handy.
The above tips are universal to all casinos. Even if you are a beginner, following the same will make you look like a regular casino goer.
