On the Void & What it Means to be a Dragon (an excerpt)
[Yanzu's] imprisonment sheds a light on what the Void truly is and how it operates. For years it was posited that Yanzu was the creator of everything, even the Void, for he was the first to enter what would become our Universe and he saw it as Nothing. If you could ask the Princes what came before, they would raise their heads in contempt. No mortal could be trusted with the notion that a God such as Yanzu could be disrespected and pitied, let alone be seen as weak. Though even the Princes and their scribes call him names, he is still their Father first and foremost. At least, he is - in nothing but name. Indeed, their intelligences were formed by Yanzu, but as the Void would tell you (if it would speak, and believe me, it very well could), it was itself alone which formed the bodies of the Princes.
Yanzu would refuse to admit this. Not even Nezeshu could get it out of him (and she stole his throne!). If there is one thing known for certain about the powers of the Eightfold Law, it is that it is transcendent. It is present within all things, past present and future, and exists throughout time and space immemorial. Every God is born of the Eightfold Law, every Universe is born of the Eightfold Law, for Xaos abounds eternally throughout the threaded web of existence. It is multidimensional. To the Princes, this is simply a fact of existence. To Yanzu, it is a reminder of his past.
Yanzu is believed to be the oldest being in our Universe, especially to mortals, as he is the closest thing to a capital-G God, an archetype of supremacy and intellect, although his nature is closer to that of the demiurge in Gnostic cosmologies, if nothing else. Nezeshu would prove to the Stage of Heaven the truth about him. Lady Ruin ruins things best, as all she does. She revealed to the Courts that his Throne was built as a wall between Ordered Creation and the Void, for what lurks within the Void scares him. She had explained that, though his Power and Influence was great upon the Universe and the Courts, what was most true was his neglect and abuse. Indeed, for Yanzu bears the mark of an Absentee Father, a Negligent and Indifferent God. He was so ashamed of his children, the Princes, due to their hybrid nature and birth within the Void, and ashamed of himself, for allowing the denizens of the Void to course through him as they did - and so Yanzu forsake them. For years they have wandered and lurked our Universe, his Forsaken instruments of divine Will, and have carved a fortitude for themselves to keep without him. Thus misery was.
Was it not hatred that was emanated first throughout his Creation? Was it not wrath that emanated last? You need only to glimpse at the natures and offices of the Princes to see the truth. Yanzu’s genius is most troubled and scarred. What was it that he had seen in the Kingdom Outside, that Outer Nothing as we call it (for we do not have the eyes to see) that caused him to perish and descend as he did? Was the creation of our Universe a punishment carried about by a force even older than him and his brothers?

A Fragment Concerning the Dortarians
Dortarians worship Lahaatari but only know him by one name: LATARI. Their main religions are dedicated to him in different ways, though they all hold one common belief: that this Latari created a world before their own, and that this world is called the First or Initial State. It is also called the Realm Before. And in the Realm Before, Latari created the Primeval Dortarians, who came to split themselves into the Two Kingdoms. The Two Kingdoms were ruled by twin brothers, Lach and Tach. Lach ruled the High Kingdom while Tach ruled the Low Kingdom. The High Kingdom was a sharp and shiny vapid horde of Zeal. The Low Kingdom was a cold and bitter horde of venom and spite. The war between Zeal and Spite sickened the wife of Tach and eventually killed her. This broke the spirits of many and led few to the Path of Self-Righteous Death in her honor, effectively killing themselves in her name. With heavy hearts and broken crowns, the Two Kingdoms fell apart, collapsing into ashes. And in these ashes, the Royal Remnants united at last, giving birth to the Seed of the Realm After. In response, Latari spread his wings and sealed their Realm - or so the myth goes. And yet, this is not all. Dortarians have written lots of scripture dedicated to Latari. The symbol used to represent the Dortarian species is in fact a religious symbol. It is known to the mystics as the Seal of Latari, and its meaning is simple enough. It is a unifying symbol, both utilitarian and ceremonial, embodying consciousness and self-hood in its purest form. It is used often to represent the Wholeness of being shaped by Latari's Heart, a notion which all Dortarians know intuitively within themselves. It is like a tree, in a sense - being blown on by wind. Though the wind is strong, the tree is stronger, having its roots deep within the ground beneath it, much like the Spirit in the Body. There will come a time for that wind to tear it all out... but not now. Not for a long time. It will, in the mind, appear this way - for it is the Path of Vayan.

A Covetous Endeavor: The Transfiguration of Lahaatari
LAHAATARI, the Brightest Emissary of Kerdephexis devoted to His Craft, was bestowed with a Blessing much like Zeidru’s. Lahaatari, by way of Transfiguration, became five-hundred meters tall with 34 eyes and 34 wings. Subsumed by XAOS, he was given the power to Create as one of the Princes themselves. Here he was - the first Emissary of Kerdephexis to forge his own divinity. He could not use his full power without it burning his aural flesh to ash. Ever determined, he sacrificed half of his eyes which then crawled with life, becoming architectural Servitors. With his Sight half-surrendered, he went even further: he severed the very Heart from his aural flesh. By channeling himself through the Servitors, those severed eyes, he created the planets Uxi (Umbri) and Vaxaal (Niveus) and allowed his Heart to act as their respective Sun and Moon. From his Heart sprung forth the residents of these planets, the Ancient Dortarians. The language these creatures spoke, as it turned out, was a language spoken by the Courts of Holy XAOS.
This, of course, intrigued Kerdephexis. Jealous of the attention, it tempted Hikaar to interrupt and meddle with Lahaatari’s creation. What was so special about these creatures? Hikaar, in turn, ruined everything; for these planets soon collided. Lahaatari was displeased. This, a project he failed to maintain. And who did he build it for? Certainly not himself. He went on much later to build better planets far, far away.
Lahaatari, of course, like most Emissaries, was oblivious to what he truly put into motion: an ancient legacy forgotten by time and space, begotten by death and destruction; a sentient and living ruin drifting in a sea of blackness...
It is within this ruin that a demonic hive mind and an astral witch were born of necromancy. Indeed; for this, a grey-skied necromantic plane, dotted by wretched undead fauna, a lifeless royalty and haunted by a genius loci, would be sealed away and locked into the Outer Wastes by the Princes upon the vanishing of Lahataari. Why else, then, do you think, would Nezeshu have gone there in time for the Prophecy?

Concerning the Malignant Eternity & His Many Forms
Despite his status among the stars, [Eivaak] has only a handful of forms, but within every single one there appear eyes with sinister glowing pupils. His first form is a colossal worm with eighteen tendrilous ligaments and a mandibular tail. He may wear this form during an individual’s first encounter with him, as it is simple yet horrifying enough to invoke shock and awe within the mind. His second form, granted during His First Metamorphosis, may look larger and slightly different than the first, having large sharp wings with two sets of eyes and a thinner body. Instead of a mandible on His tail’s tip in this form, it functions much like any other limb of His. Finally, His third and final form is the most threatening: a tall, dark winged figure with six arms and two legs wearing a crown surrounded by three red globes. This final form is the form he may assume when appearing to the newly possessed.
These are His forms according to the mortal mind as it can comprehend them - but His true visage is thus: Imagine long, sharp spectral wings with multiple sets of curling insect legs sprouting from their roots beneath, both encircled by a red arc. Three sinister globes may appear within the arc, one placed above the wings, another placed to the left of the legs, and the other placed to the right. This is Eivaak’s visage at its rawest, most true, most inescapable - a glimpse of his Face perhaps upon Death or absorption into his Holy Mass...

AND WHO ARE YOU IF NOT A SEEKER? A COSMIC NOMAD, A LURKING STRANGER WHAT FACE OF GOD IS IT THAT YOU SEEK? WHICH MASK IS IT THAT YOU WISH TO BURN? WHO ARE YOU TO BECOME, THEN WHEN YOU CONFRONT THE MONSTERS HIDING WITHIN YOU DEEP INSIDE YOUR AURAL FLESH?
SO IMAGINE KILLING YOURSELF AND CONFRONTING THE DARKNESS ONLY TO FIND OUT, MIRACULOUSLY THAT YOU ARE SINGLE-HANDEDLY RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE … IMAGINE YOUR SURPRISE.

THOSE COURTS, DARK & HOLY...
Though originally a prototype based on the inverted pentagram with 3 arrows, this symbol embodies the Courts of Holy XAOS in totality. 8 points representing 8 Princes, 2 arrows above representing YANZU and NEZESHU, the King and Queen Painters, 2 arrows beneath representing the twofold shadow cast by XAOS itself: VOIDMAW and KHAOSTE, and a circle within representing the Innumerable Horde (Knights and Emissaries).
