Chagas disease, also known as "silent or silenced disease", affects mainly poor people without access to health care or people without a political voice.
The disease progresses slowly and often shows an asymptomatic clinical course. Without treatment, Chagas disease can lead to severe cardiac and digestive alterations and becomes fatal.
Raising awareness of the disease is essential to improve the rates of early treatment and cure, together with the interruption of its transmission.
The World Chagas Disease Day was celebrated for the first time in 2020.

Seems surreal that globally the World Health Organisation estimates that around 30 million amputees don’t have access to the most basic of Prosthetics let alone Bionics.
We have access to emerging technologies but often these bionic products can cost more than $70,000 compared to $10,000 and below for Prothetics. Way too expensive wouldn't you agree and good luck in a third world country even being offered to most basic of options.
These facts coupled with more than 75% of developing countries who don't even bother with basic prosthetics and orthotics training programs, means we all need to tackle this head on and do it ourselves.
