The weight of everything that had happened thus far began to press on Sam now that she had a minute to process things. With more panting breaths, she looked at the other but not before coughing thanks to the frigid air freezing her lungs. The blonde tried to eye him critically, but in the moment, she was grateful that someone else was out here- She wasn't alone.

——— Not his- Yeah. It was probably a dumb thing to say now that he pointed it out. "Yeah, I need to get out of here," she agreed. With adrenaline coursing through her veins and snap decisions being made, she sussed out that the other was decently able to be trusted. "Who are you? I- I thought this mountain was largely uninhabited. At least around here," she slowly spoke as she got to her feet.

She did not at all look fine. Even if it was impossible to tell what injuries she might have, there was blood on her. He could smell it. A younger him would not be able to be around her at the moment, but Stza had time to control himself. All the same, what the actual hell had happened here to have all of this happen? Eyes narrowed as they turned to look at the burning building once more before turning back.

He stopped just short of her, standing a few feet back and towering over her sitting form. "Not my building," He answered with a small sniff to follow. "You're fine, I believe you. But you can't be staying out here like that, right?"

It was a small bit of a roast, but this group had never shied away from going in on each other before, so why start now? Well, despite the fact that it sort of made Sam feel like she was absolutely mocking Ashley and her preferences... Ignoring that she had said something about it first. But when one looked back at any romantic endeavour (That was known about) of Ashley's... Well, she had a point. At least with her last crush which was on Chris.... Who was quite muppety a human. "But I'd love to at least know where this random thought came from. Ruminating? Or?" Or is there a new crush that she didn't know about and was somehow more muppety and this realisation dawned upon her?

— I find it most rewarding and easier to really shine with plots if we really make an in depth world. Things spark better and you’ll get the best of my abilities that way. Continuity, established canon, world building, and an overarching plot is really what makes things fun for me! So;

Truthfully, Sam wasn’t sure how she felt about witchcraft being real real, but that was something she would come back to at a later date. “Oh, yeah. Sorry. Enlightenment in the digital age and all that,” she answered with an awkward chuckle. But Rhys spoke once more and though Sam had about 4 more questions and, really, no answers she kept her mouth shut. Instead, she gave a nod and hoped not to offend the woman anymore. “Not doubting your skills at all. Honest.”

ˊ＊—⨳—＊` Sam almost choked when Emily confronted her. Because if she was pissed at Jess for dating Mike, well, Em had to be pissed at her as well. To some extent. Maybe. The blonde tried her hardest to cover up the cough and shock on her face as to not ring any suspicions. “We’re just friends,” she clarified, giving Em a smile that totally said she was telling the truth, and the whole truth. Nothing but the truth- So help her, god. Because they really were just friends no matter how it looked to other (Or even to themselves for that matter).

——— The silence between the both of them was offset between the shouting from the game in the living room. Monopoly brought out the worst in people sometimes, hmm? She had to resist the urge to look back at Mike who was, indeed, taunting the others. In fact, Sam was almost awkwardly keeping an intense eye on Emily to prove a point. The tapping of her nails felt like the ticking of a clock, whittling away at Sam’s composure. Em had that kind of effect.

——— “How is that confirming anything?” she asked, abruptly looking up at Emily, which may have inadvertently confirmed things further. “The drink is just being polite, really. He was finished when I was.” Sam was being obvious at this point. The more she tried to deny, the more she ended up overcompensating for the whole situation. Though, it seemed like Em was on her side… Or something. And a huge weight lifted off her shoulders, smiling to the other in appreciation. “I can handle him. Don’t you worry,” she said with laughter in her voice.

" SO, I HEAR YOU'RE WITH MICHAEL NOW, " the words fell from the girl's glossed lips that piqued into a light smirk. there were truly not many secrets kept amongst their group of friends, considering how many gossips floated about. the news of @actiongrrl hooking up with mike had been the latest hot topic whispered amongst the group, and although emily was now far removed from that relationship, she still enjoyed making sam sweat.

manicured fingers tapped against the marble countertop of the kitchen where she had caught sam getting refills in two cups, her hip leaning into the edge of the counter. from the living room, there was a stir from the group, mike loudly defending his cutthroat business tactics of stealing park place from matt in their latest round of monopoly that ashley and chris were putting away for the next round of activities they were planning on doing that evening.

" i mean, i guess your actions confirmed it. you've been sitting close but not TOO close tonight. and now you're not just refilling one drink, " she mused aloud with a hum and a tilt of her head, giving a moment's pause. " if he ever does anything to wrong you, i have a whole folder up here of information that can ruin him, " she assured, hand lifting to tap her finger against her temple, " like the fact that his mom had to take his pacifier away from him before he started kindergarten so the other kids wouldn't call him ' binky boy ' . . . "

— Sam loves interesting and unique dates. One of her dream dates that she hasn’t really widely vocalised is going to either the Natural History, or Art museum dressed up. Like cocktail dresses and a suit to go look at the museums. Is it dumb? Maybe. Is it weird? Absolutely. But she would be tickled pink if someone took her on this date.
