YES YES YES
Just a reminder in Wings and Embers, Nesta’s monologue says: “She didn’t know what to do with it, that rage. It still burned and hunted her, still made her want to rip and roar and rend the world into pieces. She felt it all—too keenly, too sharply. Hated and cared and loved and dreaded, more than other people, she sometimes thought. Could sift between them all in a matter of moments, like she was trying on different sets of clothes, and no one could tell or care. Except him. He could see it, feel it.”
And also: “That first afternoon, he’d looked at her— not at the face and the body that human men marked, but her— and he had seen it all.”
No one sees or understands Nesta, but Cassian does. This little tidbit also shows that Nesta isn’t as cold and unfeeling as most people read her to be at first. It showcases that she feels intensely and deeply, and her cold demeanour is just a facade she uses to protect herself, probably because she hurts deeply too. I love Nesta Archeron because she’s a complicated and complex female character. So often in literature, it’s always the male characters who are written to be cold and complicated and then are absolutely celebrated and deemed “the cutest bean” despite any problematic behaviour we see from them, but when it’s a female character (re: Nesta Archeron) people see her as “a bitch” or “problematic”. In fact, if Nesta was a male character, she would be described as “well-written” and “complex” and “sexy”, but she’s a woman so she’s automatically labelled a bitch/cold/unfeeling/problematic and the list goes on. Nesta Archeron is the complex and angry female character that we have needed in literature.

Nesta: *stares at Cassian*

Honestly why does everyone have relatively strong feelings about every court except Dawn? Like yeah, we’re the healers, but we’re also saving your asses.🤔🤔🤔
omg I don't know when this came in but i only saw this now im sowwy..
BUT YESS. i don't get it either. for me i've been super drawn to the dawn court mainly because of the symbolism it has (from some super old post i had before i have yet to find it lmao). and yass the dawn court with the healing and super cool steampunkish tinkering is another thing of course.
i think it's mainly because we weren't really exposed to the dawn court as much? like during the meeting w the high lords, the focus there was the meeting itself which was quite serious so it's hard to pay attention to the fact that we were at the dawn court. i think Nuan and the whole master tinkering thing was also kind of pushed aside.
thesan's healing capabilities were only really shown through feyre and during the time thesan was trying to see if he could help dead rhys at the end of acowar, but we were all in panick mode, or at least we focused on rhys being dead and feyre panicking.
for the other courts, we've all obviously had a load of night and spring.
we've been to summer for a decent amount of time, backed up by tarquin's dreams similar to those of feyre's and rhys so we paid attention to that.
for day, helion. helion.
autumn, we crossed the place, personally knew lucien, had a lot of action with eris.
winter, we also kinda crossed it, and viviane. any friend of mor's especially with all that lively banter will be ours too i guess. also cute animals.
my point here i guess is the fact that the people/things we're exposed to from the different courts will also somehow translate into how the courts actually are.
i think what made the trip to/impression of dawn different from that of the other courts is it was really focusing on the meeting and the high lords. that was really quite tense because we were all finally going to meet all the high lords. we didnt get to see much of thesan's personality as much as the other representatives of other courts.
thats my guess hehe
but yall pls join the dawn court we cool too!!

Do you sometimes have this urge to go on an epic adventure that will completely change you as a person? Do you dream about pirate ships, highest mountains and deepest woods full of secrets, brave people seemingly not from this world? I want to discover the world so much that it almost hurts. Not just the world, but the magic in it. God, sometimes I just want to see the magic. I hope there is some of it left.

right its been an extremely long time since i last heard about Briar here but yess!! i've always thought about Briar and Tamlin getting together. I've always speculated that she was actually the major reason why Tamlin helped Az, Elain and Feyre escape the Hybern camp in ACOWAR. He probably suspected she was his mate!!
Does the acotar fandom talk about Briar at all? It would be weird to introduce a named character and never bring her back, and sjm has shown herself to be intentional with her name choices before (e.g. Elain means fawn)
So why is there a sudden sleeping beauty in my beauty and the beast story? (The original name for sleeping beauty was briar rose, in case you didn’t know)
It seems like a hint that once Tamlin deals with his issues and generally gets his sht together, he’ll end up with Briar (he may have been Feyre’s Gaston, but he can still be a different Beauty’s Beast)

“LuciEN neVeR tRied To hElp feyRe!!”
I’m real sick of reading that blatantly false narrative from the fandom. (And Feyre lol) Did we read totally different books? Or could it be the fandom is pushing a false narrative, to the point of manipulating the wiki page because they have a wholly separate agenda? 🤔
In acotar, it’s Lucien who taught Feyre how to ensnare the Suriel. A major factor that, had she never done it, many major events of the novels never would have played out. Lucien risked his life to save hers under the mountain. Lucien who loved Tamlin, who didn’t care for humans, especially one who murdered his friend and thus had no obligation to help her, saved her fucking life. I think that’s pretty telling of his character. It goes without saying that had he not done this, we wouldn’t have the additional books.
It was Lucien post-Armarantha who gave Feyre weapons when Tamlin wouldn’t.
It was Lucien who begged Tamlin to step up and allow them to properly train her to use her powers.
Lucien vouched first Feyre so often, it pissed Tamlin off enough that Lucien’s life was, once again, at risk. Though we don’t know exactly what happened, it’s safe to say Lucien was threatened. Likely moments from death. Once again in a bid to help Feyre. (Ignore the lines, that’s from a previous convo.)
Lucien didn’t want her locked up anymore than she wanted to be locked up. Lucien fought for autonomy, her freedom, her life. Lucien repeatedly fought for Feyre at his own expense and this fandom (and Feyre) has the nerve to say he didn’t do shit.
And if your main complaint is that he tried to force her to return to Spring when she didn’t want to, consider this. When Feyre was seemingly kidnapped, she didn’t know how to read or write. So that letter they received likely seemed like one big red flag. Not to mention when the person who “kidnapped” her moonlighted as this sociopathic monster who delighted in raping and murdering fae for fun. One who could control and break minds at that. We all knew the reasons Rhys did this but Lucien had no way of knowing that! All he knew was that someone he considered a friend had been taken by this alleged monster. In his mind he was trying to save her from that supposed abuse, that he had no way of knowing wasn’t truly happening. Nothing beyond her looking healthier, but Rhys was a master manipulator. Perhaps he couldn’t trust that image.
So I’ll ask again, did Lucien really not try, or is the fandom extremely biased because they have an agenda to push? One that may or may not involve Elain and certain Illyrian male? Could it be? 🤔
