Marius grinned at them. "Mulan is totally the best." He didn't mention the fact that he'd always found it a comfort when his grandfather had been less than supportive. The cupboard full of not-DVDs didn't even make him lift an eyebrow, which on another day would probably have called for some introspection.
"Nice ringtone," he said with a yawn, then blushed. He hadn't realised how tired he was. "And, um, I'm happy there won't be any lasting damage."
He attempted to focus on the film, and managed to pay attention all the way through to the moment Mulan was discovered until his eyes started to drift shut. Eponine's shoulder was very comfortable, anyway.
"It was, um, one of the philosophy seminars, I’ve got the name somewhere," Marius said, fumbling for his bag before realising he’d left it at the flat in his rush to leave. "Well, I’ll report back with it. Not that you should hurt anyone!" He said quickly, remembering Eponine’s record with street fights. "They’re not nice people, and I’m definitely not going to talk to them, but I don’t want them to get fractures."
Somewhat willingly bundled up, Marius followed Eponine through to the sitting room, where he was dumped on the sofa. “Which Disney movie is it? Because I’m not sure if a film that would make me cry is really the best way to deal with being upset-“

Marius looked up into Eponine’s glare, shuddered slightly, and decided that for once, the truth (or most of it) was probably the best option. “I, um, I was in a new class and some of the people didn’t really, um, take to me I guess? Like, I get that not everyone you meet is going to be as nice as you’d like, but this was kind of severe. Name-calling serious, anyway.” He inhaled slowly, determined not to cry. “It reminded me of my grandfather.”
Tears were threatening to fall despite his best efforts, but he continued. “Just, insults, and stuff. I reported them to the professor, but she didn’t seem worried, so I just sort of, um, avoided them. As much as possible.”

"It’s nothing, Eponine," said Marius, shaking his head. "Just a bad day, like I said." There wasn’t much to say, really. Just people being, well, people. As usual.
He paused, spinning the chair idly. “I mean, everyone has bad days. There’s no reason to worry about it.” He checked his phone again, waiting on another text from Courfeyrac. Eponine gave him a look that showed they didn’t believe a word he’d said, but he chose to ignore that for now.

Marius blinked, spots clearing from his eyes as they entered the darker hallway. He headed after Eponine into their room, and collapsed into their desk chair.
"How did Grantaire get here before I did? I- I didn’t think I was that slow." He smiled, a little sadly. “Although I did get lost on the way here… somehow. It’s not really my day."

Oven gloves, okay. I've, um, removed most of the newspaper that isn't actually stuck to your hair, so, it's more like an art thing than an accident.
I was thinking of buying em one, if I can save it up by eir birthday, so you might get the chance one day. Soon, anyway.
Do you have a cloth for the hot water - I think it would probably be a bad idea to just pour it on your head.

I was, um, joking, I guess I should- not do that. In future. Anyway! I put the kettle on, I don't think a burnt hand will worry me too much but, it might take a few minutes so I thought I'd try getting some of it off? I'll try not to tear your hair out, don't worry.
Ey does, alright? It's ador- It's funny. I think ey'd wear a dinosaur onesie if I hadn't stopped em from buying one.

Eponine marched along the hallway, eyes still on their phone, and looked up to the sight of a dejected-looking Marius slumped against the doorway to their apartment. They smirked, pocketed their phone, and moved silently along the hall. Quiet as a cat, they sneaked up behind Marius and punched him in the arm, inciting a yelp from him.
"What happened now, Marius?"

Right, ok, I'm assuming turpentine doesn't... go on the head. Hot water. I'll go run the tap in a minute, unless your kettle is fixed by now?
You- we don't mention the weathervane Grantaire. I thought we agreed on that. Oh, and, um, thank you. Courfeyrac has a lot of books on dinosaurs lying around, I just sort of, um, picked it up.

Don’t throw yourself down on your floor in a fit of frustrated artistic pique without first checking that that floor is clear.
In unrelated news, yes, I have last Monday’s edition of Le Monde stuck to the back of my head.

Is it stuck with superglue or the sheer force of bad luck? Um, do you need some hot water or something, I'm not really that artsy, so I don't have much experience with being- stuck. Yes. I'll stop talking and get some water.
