Samantha took note of the look on her face and how it changed so quickly, deciding not to question it for the time being. Her hands adjusted as sat up straight. “ Nope, not really. Though i would say the food has gotten a lot better.” She let out a soft laugh, remembering the stomach aches she used to get.
“Did they ever find out why you got stomach aches like that?” Beth tugged the blanket she found laying over the couch and pulled it over herself. She got chilled very easily.
“Blanket?” She lifted some of it to offer to Samantha.

❛ ——– you’re telling me, ❜ the words escaped him with a chuckle.
perhaps if he were back in high school, this would’ve excited him. girls ! party games ! booze ! instead, kit found it all rather quaint.
he approached her from the side, surveying the scene for himself. when his coworkers told him about the raging party they were attending, this was the last thing he expected to see. he took one last sip of coke before setting the can down on a nearby coffee table. alcohol was forgone entirely : he had an early shift tomorrow. he couldn’t afford the hangover.
the scent of weed lingered on his jacket. a quick high before the party, or his reason for being fashionably late. an attempt was made to mask the smell with cologne before he arrived, but it could still reach anyone’s nose if they stood too close to him.
❛ i always thought that spin the bottle was some shit only television characters ever did. never expected to witness it in real life. ❜ much less participate. amusement remained in his gaze as he caught sight of a familiar face waving him over. wordlessly, he moved to stand beside his coworkers’ spot in the circle.
eyes flickered back to her, a smile flashed in her direction before he sat down : both a cordial parting and an invitation. how it was interpreted, though, was up to her.
Beth averted her gaze from the game to the stranger who spoke to her. She did not recognize him---and she knew that if she had seen him before, she most certainly would have remembered. She caught the scent of weed on him---light, in combination with a cologne she did not know.
'Maybe this will be interesting,' She thought to herself, a lopsided smirk touching her lips.
"You must have not gone to high school if you haven't seen spin the bottle in real life!" She said with a tickled laugh, "Fuck's sake, I hated the game because I always got either people whose breath was bad or they were assholes."
Beth took note of the stranger's eyes on her when he went to the circle to sit. She was grateful that the flush in her cheeks could be blamed on the alcohol. She cleared her throat and fixed her hair a moment before straightening her posture and joining the stranger in the circle.
Her friend Natalie put a hand on the bottle and spun it. This went on for about three turns until finally it was Beth's turn to spin the bottle.
"Beeeth!" Natalie squealed, reaching over and poking Beth in the cheek. Beth swatted her hand away, laughing. "Sit down, drunk ass!"
Beth exhaled slowly, before spinning the bottle. It seemed to spin forever. When it finally stopped, she thought that it landed on her---upon closer inspection, it landed on the stranger that was sitting next to her.
Her face grew red and she looked at the young man who had been talking to her just before the game. She wasn't one to succumb to nerves, but she couldn't help but feel shy. It were as though she were in high school again!
"Kay, well," Beth situated herself to face him. She leaned in, her head going into a slight tilt as she pressed a soft kiss to his mouth.

“ …And you act as if that’s a bad thing. I like being odd, I would think that you of all people would know how odd I am by now.. ” A soft chuckle escapes her lips, her head tilts to the side. Her hands are pressed against the ground to hold her balance as she looks at them.“Are you telling me that you don’t love my quirks anymore?’’ A soft pouts falls onto her face, a look of fake hurt washes over for a mere moment. She sends a wink towards them to signal that she’s joking.
“Of course I do,” Beth mirrored the girl’s pout. “Just. Not feeling myself lately,” She nodded, averting her gaze from the other. She realized that she should probably act right or it would cause concern, so she quickly replaced her ghostly gaze with a warm smile.
“So, anything changed since before?”

but everything looks perfect from far away. [closed starter]
On a typical night, she was the life of the party. Whenever Beth entered a party, it was as though she absorbed the energy of the many people surrounding her. She would feel a rush to her head, and the inhibition that a dangerous combination of her mania mindset with alcohol created would animate her.
On that night, Beth remained subtle. Ordinary. She was extra aware of the acidic bottle of Smirnoff Ice she held in her hand and the way it did not send her into the oblivion she longed for. She would have to grab a stronger drink, she figured.
Suddenly, her friend Natalie approached her, the girl reeking of vodka---
“Beth!” She squealed. “C’mon honey, we’re gonna do something a little old school!”
Beth raised her brows, “such as...?”
Natalie grabbed Beth’s small wrist and gave her a tug. “Spin the bottle!”
Beth sighed, attempting to pull her arm away, “I don’t know, Nattie, I---”
Natalie shook her head, “Nope, no. You’re moping and killing the party! It’ll be fun.”
Beth laughed, “I guess I am pretty mopey tonight. Okay, I’ll go...”
She was led to the living room by her drunken friend, and chuckled when she saw the glass bottle on the floor in the center of a circle of people.
“This is so weird.”

“Please be honest with me now… Do you have feelings for me?” Will asked firmly. He had a feeling there was more to it than meets the eye. Being a commercial airline pilot had it’s perks, but also flaws - one of them being not being able to have a proper relationship due to always being away.
Beth let out a soft laugh, accompanied by a snort. “Feelings. What are those?” She brought her lit cigarette to her lips, taking a drag from it and exhaling the smoke into the air between the two of them.
“What about you? Do you have feelings?”

open: females only
since she arrived at the party with her best friend, roxie had been avoiding her life the plague. it wasn’t that she was mad at her or anything like that it’s just she–had to avoid her. the only reason she was convinced to come to the party with her in the first place was because it was impossible for roxanne to say no to her. it wasn’t in the cards for her. the girl could tell her to jump off the bridge out back and roxie’s heart would pressure her the whole way there. it was getting hard to hide these feelings from the girl. especially if she had to see her with her boyfriend again. after making her rounds around the party and drinking way to much she found herself in a corner of the party enjoying the small buzz she was feeling as a couple of her friend joined around her. everything seemed perfect until she was pulled off by her best friend asking her over and over again why she was avoiding her. “i’m not avoiding you okay! i just have a lot on my mind and being around you isn’t helping…”
"Why?!" Beth spoke loudly on account of being a) drunk and b) the booming music that roared at the party they were at. She had high-waisted shorts and a tie-dye crop top on and her flip flops in the hand that laid at her side.
"This party isn't as much fun without you!" She pointed out, a party-goer strolling past them and placing their baseball cap on Beth's head. She twisted the hat so that it was backwards on her head.
"Come with me," She pouted, extending her hand and wanting the other girl to take it. "Let's go do a shot."
