Idk what trans man needs to hear this but you're NOT evil or disgusting for being a man. You do NOT have to suffer for the sins of the patriarchy committed by cis dudes. Being a man doesn't invalidate the misogyny you experienced growing up or experience now. Being a man doesn't mean you deserve to be isolated. Being a man doesn't mean you're inherently predatory or scary. You didn't "choose" this, and finding your true self is NOT "betraying the community" because you happen to be a man and/or masculine rather than a woman and/or feminine. You ARE allowed to be upset when people "affirm" your gender by malgendering you.

You DO deserve a community that uplifts you. You DO deserve to experience trans joy. You DO deserve to have your voices heard and your struggles recognized. Wanting the bare minimum of solidarity is NOT "making everything about trans men".

In honour of Transgender Awareness Week 2024, I wanted to share the history behind the most well-known transgender flag! 🏳️‍⚧️

For those people who need to hear it, there is nothing wrong with going back into the closet for your own safety. You aren't less queer because you can't be queer publicly. You aren't less trans because you have to act like you're not trans.

If you need to start going by your old pronouns or quietly go back into the closet to be safe - you are allowed to do that. Please do that if it means you're alive.

Your safety is important.

You are important.

And if you know someone who has to do this, don't push them. Don't out them. Follow their lead. People's safety is more important that grandstanding.

One of my favourite aspects in the season 2 of Heartstopper is how unapologetically intolerant everyone is towards homophobia. Like.

Harry showing up at Tara's birthday party and Charlie shutting the door in his face despite that apology.

Nick freely calling out his brother's biphobic behavior. Tori literally sinking her nails in David's arm when he was mocking Charlie and Nick and planning to out them.

It's so refreshing. There's no moment where someone asks Charlie or Nick to be the "bigger people" and forgive anyone who undermined, mocked, dismissed, and harassed them for their identity.

Because that shit shouldn't be tolerated ever and it's not acceptable. Queer people aren't here to be your redemption arc.

Sometimes it makes me so sad when I’m on the aspec Reddit pages. So many people say they hate being ace because they ‘want to be loved’ and it breaks my fucking heart because it implies the only ‘real’ way to be loved is in a romantic and/or sexual way. Does it not count when it comes from your parents? Your friends? Your siblings and your cousins? Your neighbours? Your teachers? Your pets? Does my love for someone not count because it’s not romantic?!? I get wanting a romantic and/or sexual relationship but stop conflating it with being loved in general I’m begging
