So it looks like someone made a live-action adaptation of Splatoon. How does it hold up? It's a pretty crappy adaptation considering THERE ARE NO KIDS OR SQUIDS IN IT. I understand that the budget would be super high if they attempted to recreate the Inklings with full CGI and everything, but they could at least, y'know, put colored spaghetti in their hair so we know they tried. The only part of this paltry 41-minute borefest that even closely resembles the game is the "turf war." They get the basic premise down with 4v4 battles, but they got the game's strategy completely wrong. What kind of nonsense is this? Why are they fighting in a boring forest environment? Where's Moray Towers? Where's Arowana Mall? Where are ANY of the iconic stages? Overall, I give this movie a 0/10-- Well, I guess I did kind of enjoy the action sequences with the "Inklings" so I'll bump it up to a 1/10. It's no wonder Nintendo doesn't make movies off of their products.
