Day 30 of Quarantine
For the past few days since this quarantine I've been handed the task to do the laundry every day or every so often. Because of the whole Corona pandemic, my mother has been paranoid to the point where she makes me remove the clothes I've used when I go out and put them in the laundry basket. She calls routine if you will, "despercudir" which translates to "to get clean". So you can imagine just how much clothes pills up on the laundry bin. Because of that same reason I am asked to wash the clothes every single day as an extra precaution. That being said, I wanted to stack clothes out of the dryer machine onto to the laundry basket to represent just how much work I have to do every day.

Video #2
Que Gosadera
I wanted to stack my stereo, because it represents my love for music. Music, in my culture is very important because it ties families together. I’m Cuban so almost all my life I’ve been surround by music, where it being Spanish, Rock, R&B, or Hip-Hop. Regardless of the music genre, music was always a part of my life, so it is very important for me to present it as such.

Video #1
Tower of Memories
For this video I wanted to stack the photos albums my parents have acquired through my child and adolescens. I wanted to emphasize in the video how important memories are for me. Almost stacking the albums in a pedestal like way, none of them are organized in from my favorite to least. The reason why I chose to use my albums was because I love the idea to immortalize, memories, moments, and events that others are able to see.

Phantom Bodies- Final
For this project my idea was to accentuate the things we have and do concerning the time we are in, i.e., quarantine time. I wanted to make a cast of my fingers and use them with the things I do every single day, but the most important one being, typing on a keyboard. Another thing I wanted to accentuate was the ankles. The ankles of the human body have a very important purpose they balance weight that is carried down to your foot. I wanted to compare the ankles in architecture with the human ankles. For instance, the corners of a wall would be considered the "ankles" since they balance the support of the roof. Kind of like in the human body, the ankles help give support other than help the motion of the feet.

· At the beginning she talks about talked about a book which tells the story of a plague, she compares to the present moment we are having today. Meaning, we are all venerable all the time.
Describe their working process?
· Collects video/audio clips to work with. She finds it interesting how absurd maybe seen normal or common clips, mundane and surrealism.
Describe their philosophy?
· Found clips, original meaning, and the intended. What she changes of said found clips, shown side by side, with found audio clips. Also, the talk between life and death and, again, the absurd.
Did you enjoy this speaker? Why or Why not?

What new information did you gain?
· She loves to use in her work, philosophy and psychology.
What else did they talk about?
· Showed her sculptural work, new piece every day for 3 days, palm tree and a basketball. Basketball also called advantage, hence the sculptures name advantage. She addresses what is the meaning of an advantage for others and her own advantages, complexity of that question.
Quote something of interest?
· “Fascinated what others make, when not thinking about it in art mindset.”
IF APPLICABLE, WHAT QUESTION DID YOU ASK?
--
MOST IMPORTANTLY: YOUR THOUGHTS
Do not simply recite the lecture.
· I didn’t know what to think of her, I’ve never seen or heard any of her work so I went to the talk very open minded. I loved her videos the most because as she said even though some of the clips as common, the audio she adds to them makes them much more interesting and eye catching. Sense, you start to question what you are seeing along with what you are hearing.

Phantom Bodies Project
Idea #1: Cast of every crease on my body for texture. For example: my elbow, knee, and the back of my ankles.
Idea #2: casting connected joints of the body. For example: heel, knee, wrist, elbow.
Idea #3: casting of the knuckles of my hands separately.

Altered Ready-Made project
In my house I dont have much material to work with, my parents only buy furniture that are on essential for use so I cant really alter anything. So for this project I wanted to go with simplicity and still talk about my previous idea. I wanted to talk about the uncomfortable feeling on sitting in a chair in your office and wanting to be in your bed, hence why I cover the chair in pillows. With the pillow cases, I wanted to show how one would normally have this homely pattern in their bedroom. I wanted a comfortable feeling to come out the pictures and through the sculpture. Also for the second picture I still wanted it to relate to a human spine, that is the reason why the spine of the chair still shows.

Soft Portrait Video #1
These clothes make a perfect connection to me, because I own a lot of clothes that don't really represent my character personality. Some of them are pre-owned clothes, donated and gifted to me. These close are also bought by my mother so, they represent what she wants me to look like instead of what I see myself as. Reason why I tied them together to make a rope type of design was because the function of a rope is to constricts other objects or simply put, to be held tight. For me these clothes constrict my character and they don't let me expand beyond what I want others around me to see.
