A slender brow raised at the name of the shop, though a soft huff leaves the assassin. Smart move on the name, he thought. A small quirk of the lips was given before he nodded in response. "I see." Ran spoke, looking away from the other only a moment or two "Would you like to accompany me?" Boy, he sounded like he was old when speaking that way. Now he understood why Yuki and even Ken had thought this. Hell, Sena had said something similar at one point. Problem was; he was just proper. Never having seen it any other way.
At feeling the gaze on him, Yamcha's own eyes went back to the other as he smiled, making himself seem as relaxed and friendly as possible. "Aya.. That's a nice name." It did sound a bit on the feminine side, but he wasn't one to judge since he's heard stranger even just among his friends. A small hum came from him as he tried to think of an answer to the question. "There's a little shop just a few blocks east of here. It's called the Bou-TEA-que. Real nice place with a cozy atmosphere."

listen, i'm back home now, i'm thinking about things, and i saw the maxton hall gifset floating around and i was like. yk what. carrying people is elite content, and gdi y'all deserve elite content! as always, DO NOT ADD OR EDIT THIS LIST! and there's a lil spicy addition under the readmore, but i left it there just in case people prefer to have a not-so-spicy version.
[ SLUMBER ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver because they're so sound asleep that they won't easily wake up.
[ INTERCEPT ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver out of the room because they're angry and on the brink of engaging in a fight with someone.
[ ASSIST ]: sender picks up and carries the receiver away for medical attention because they've been injured and can't walk easily.
[ HELP ]: sender picks up and carries the badly wounded receiver as fast as possible to the nearest hospital or the nearest place to administer urgent first-aid.
[ ELATION ]: sender scoops up the receiver and carries them away after a mutual victory, or having just received very good news (or maybe they're both just very happy for some reason!)

so i got watching a ton of new tv shows lately, and it occurred to me that actually i do love it when characters are unexpectedly saved by someone who just happened to be exactly in the right place at precisely the correct moment, yk? and i failed to think of the right name, so the title of this list is entirely thanks to a very dear friend of mine who informed me! so here's a list, i hope you guys love it, DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST OR EDIT IT!!! i like to edit them over time as new ideas come to me.
[ ALIBI ]: the sender provides a false alibi to protect the receiver from legal issues.
[ HAND ]: the sender suddenly arrives to grab the receiver's hand before they fall to their death
[ CAR ]: the sender arrives on scene as the impromptu getaway driver for the receiver (who hadn't been expecting it).
[ FATAL ]: the sender unwittingly arrives on scene when the receiver is being attacked, and to protect the receiver, they kill the assailant.

If Ran had been younger, he would have completely ignored the man next to him. But he'd learned to be accepting - kind, even, and learned that it was okay to have conversation every once in a blue moon. The redhead tilts his head as violets locked on to Yamcha, his expression shifting slightly from its usual stoic to slight curiosity, Yamcha? That was quite the interesting name. "Aya." The assassin had defaulted to using his nickname - or, defaulted to using his sister's name as a coer for the time being. "Perhaps you can tell me where the nearest place to have some tea might be?"
He had partially been expected to be told to keep quiet by the stranger, so relief washed over him when the guy actually began to return the conversation. He perked up at the question of his name, starting to smile as he glanced over at his new acquaintance. "Yeah, it's Yamcha. What about you?"

A hum of agreement left the man as he slowly turned, violets gazing upon the other for a few long moments. He had forgotten what conversation had been like before he entered the life of an assassin. His head tilts before he moves to sit, "So it seems." He voiced, also taking a moment to lean back, "We'll be stuck together for a while, I suppose." His arms come up to cross over his chest, "You have a name?"
It was almost hard to hear the soft-spoken response through the patter of rain. Yamcha paused before going back to making sure his hair wouldn't get messed up. He supposed his current company wasn't the most conversational, at least with strangers.
He cleared his throat and leaned back against the wall after getting his hair taken care of, having sneakily used some ki to dry it off enough. "Looks like it'll be going for a while.." He probably shouldn't bother the stranger, but he had a hard time tolerating long silences.

He hated rain as it reminded him of the night so long ago. Having not brought an umbrella, Ran brought the collar of his coat up higher as he quickly made for a place to get out of the rain. When he was finally under cover the assassin held his coat closed over himself still, violets gazing up at the sky. Movement had caught the man's attention as his head slowly turned to see a dark haired stranger seeking cover from the pouring downfall of rain. Brows furrowed a moment, his gazing taking the other in.
He hadn't seemed like he was going to attack him. But then, that could always change. ".....It is." Ran answered softly, his attention going back to the rainfall.
