The power to control the waters can mean much for those that wish to wield them. Providing nourishment to the thirsty and life to the plants of the world, it’s true that water is one of the core building blocks upon which we all rely. It’s amazing then that something so basic to life can also be so dangerous depending on the form it can take. This trident for example, came to me with an infusion of a waterlily already tied to it giving it both miraculous beauty and strength. I dare say this is one of the more lovely pieces in my collection. I find myself holding it at times just to see the waves washing around it.

Communication is such a complex field of magic. It’s amazing in a world where we can twist rock and earth, raise the dead, and even move the heavens above, that communication is still one of the more difficult things to get a grasp on. I have known for some time that a method of conveying greater amounts of information over longer distances could be quite useful, but the form is what never made sense to me. One day one of the neighborhood children left an origami bird on my windowsill. A little gift from him left me with a spark of inspiration. A bit of work and well, I think this one will surely get the message across.

Even as a young boy, I was as fascinated by storms as I was terrified by them. I grew up not far from the sea, so the tumultuous seas would often tell the tail of a coming gale. The lightning and thunder rattled the windows of our cliffside home and I would lay in bed watching the world outside be illuminated by the bolts from the skies above. I never lost that sense of wonder. Observing the power of a storm is still awe inspiring to this day. That’s why I knew when there were reports of a spear crafted from the captured essence of the storms themselves, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It was no easy feat, but well… It’s worth a look, adventurer.

Holier Than Thou Water

There are those in the highest levels of the clergy that really get a bit of an ego about themselves. You see them strutting around in their gleaming platemail or stately robes, rubbing elbows with the social elite. I feel as though they might have lost touch with the point of the whole thing, but that’s not for me to judge. They’ve found their newest divine toy though, and I’d be a liar if I said I hadn’t wanted to get my hands on some to give it a try. Well as luck would have it, one of my contacts was able to obtain such a bottle. There’s no official name for it yet, so I’m just giving it one of my own smarmy accord.

Candescence

There are those that are never satisfied with what they have on hand currently and I think that sort of inventive spirit should be encouraged. Some particularly studious dwarves noticed the way that molten rock can cut channels through solid stone and saw within it an opportunity. They began capturing the daystar’s radiant energies in magically attuned crystals found in the depths below until they reached a critical point of stored energies. They were amazed to find that the crystals could even modify your vision for a short time, but I’m worried how the testing methods went for that.

There are those that are so devout in their faith that they take to pinning the scripture to their very garb to remind themselves of what they consider necessary to remember. It’s an odd practice, but then again, I craft magical items for a living so perhaps I can’t be so quick to judge. What I will say is that when one of these robes landed in my shop, I was confused as to what properties it may have, but it seems that I was even more wrong for being so quick to judge the practice. The means of quickly casting a predetermined spell? Well that’s something interesting all itself.

The most magical time of year is kicking off and I couldn’t be more excited to get out in the cold and take part in the annual snowball fights. I’ve heard tell that one of the elves has a new mechanism that he’s looking to show this year and… oh no, what is that thing? Surely this can’t just be made for the merriment of the creator and those around. I’m uncertain if snowball based playful combat will ever be the same after this.

Getting around in the icy north is always a troubling prospect. I’m not one for sure-footedness on the best of days, but add some ice and snow to the equation and you can forget it. I’m much more likely to end up on my rear end than where I intended to go. That’s when it hit me, why should I fight against the ice when there is the option to embrace it. A few of the right enchantments later and now I can get around as I need regardless of the temperature outside. Maybe I should look into something similar to cool the interior environments of homes in the summer… No, that would be silly.

Those little puppet box shows on the corner were always a favorite of mine in my youth. I loved seeing the manner in which the marionettes would dance about and put on a show. There was something magical about the suspension of disbelief that could come with a well organized show, so when a puppeteer came to me looking for aid in both their show as with unruly guests that might turn these wholesome performances into a brawl, well I knew I had to get involved. The right charismatic enchantments coupled with a choice spell, and well I dare say I’ve made something special here.

The natural world is home to many wonders that excite and astound and so long as you pay the world a modicum of respect and consideration, these wonders may be willing to work with you as well. Perhaps they were a gift from one who walked such a thing, but I have heard of living bridges that make the forest ravines their homes, seeking to serve the creatures who live amongst the forest. It would appear as though these boots have been blessed by one such creature so that you can have a bit of its service where you need it most.

Kintsugi

Though I’ve never practiced it myself, I’ve heard of an ancient art of taking broken pottery and turning the repair into something beautiful by restoring it with lacquer mixed with gold. It’s a fascinating process to behold and truly does give a broken piece a new sense of life while not rejecting its history. This armor seems to have at one point undergone a similar destruction and repair process, but whatever magics were used during the restoration truly are something phenomenal.

Majestic and ancient creatures residing deep in the magical woods, I’ve always had a respect for the giant owls and their wizened communities. They live for longer than most anyone and in those years, they gather more knowledge than you or I could ever hope to. They rival even some of the ancient elven scholars in both understanding and magical prowess. While they keep to their own and enjoy their lives away from the bustle of the “modern” world, occasionally they do see fit to bestow a bit of their magic on someone else.

There are several things I’m not accustomed to working in and wax is certainly one of them. I had been trying my hand at making candle enchantments, when a friend of mine suggested that it wasn’t that my materials were bad, but rather my methods. I sought to change things up and try a new way to reach my end goals of an everburning candle and sure enough I was able to produce it. The problem was, there was just so much wax! Wax everywhere! Well I figured I might as well put it to good use and I just so happened to have this magicked greataxe nearby!

There are certain things that terrify me more than others and creatures that haunt the sleeping world are near the top of my list. You’re nearly defenseless from them in your most vulnerable hours, yet without the comfort of sleep, what do you have to rely upon? It seems that someone bested one of these spirits of the night and managed to retain its mask which has now ended up in my shop. I’m not so sure I wanted something like this here, but when they explained its powers, well I became very intrigued.

Okay, it’s rare for me to give away an item, but please if anyone would like a talking pumpkin that won’t stop making puns and random jokes about everyone that passes by, stop by the emporium today. I’ll pay you to take it away from here. I’m sure it has some redeeming qualities that I have yet to find, but I don’t know that I can tolerate another day of this. Maybe you can use it as a gag gift for that special someone in your life that you want to annoy to no end. Beyond the veil of the living lies a world of ghosts and ghouls. Things that go bump in the night and keep children afraid of what may be lurking in their closets. Now we know that the supernatural exist and haunt their places of demise or great anguish, but did you know that it was possible to not only harness, but use their powers of possession for your own benefits? It’s a bit of dark magic, so only draw your eye to this item if you’re fine with walking on the more daring side of the weave. Be careful of what else you might find there.

Awakener

At first, I thought the concept ridiculous. Sure there are those that have been capable of turning stone to living being and the like, but these are purpose built constructs given a semblance of life through purpose and magics, but to simply be able to awaken any object, even for a moment, was a concept I thought beyond possible. It turns out that I was wrong. Locked away deep in a keep was the life work of one who tried to bring life to that without it. Through their work, I hold this censer today in front of me. I can’t help but be slightly afraid of it.
