Where to get Abstract Clocks for Sale
Today, I’m going to talk to you about where you find abstract clocks for sale, but first I wanted to share a thought:
I think it’s interesting how the usefulness of clocks themselves have changed.
Like, a thousand years ago, before mechanized devices, people used sun dials to tell time. Then we used water clocks and candle clocks. Then church bells and weighted clocks.
Then we moved onto grandfather clocks and cuckoo clocks – which, by the way – I really like, and will come back to.
Eventually, in the 1800’s as electricity and motorized devices advanced, we moved into wrist watches, and electric alarm clocks.
And in the 1900’s and today, we have appliances, phones, computers, and more to tell us the time when we need it.
But let’s scale back and talk about clocks in the home.
Many families a hundred years ago – if they could afford it – had a grandfather clock. For a long time, these were the most accurate clocks the average person could have. I still think they’re pretty awesome, although I’m pretty sure they’re dying off.
As the technology got better, and smaller, grandfather clocks were replaced over time by wall clocks. The most famous wall clock I can think of is that cat one you see in the movies and commercials.
Wall clocks, while initially meant to be more functional, over time became more of a decorative piece, than a functional one… which is where we are today.
Now that we all have digital clocks throughout the house and on our phone, we have little need for clocks any more.
It kind of reminds me of that scene in “The Internship” with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s boss lets them go and tells them that watches are no longer needed, because everyone has a phone. Then when they argue with him about it, he asks his secretary (the old lady) what time it is, and she uses a phone to find out!
My point is this: Analog clocks are no longer a necessity, they’re largely for decoration these days.
That being the case, let’s look at some abstract clocks for sale.
While most of my posts tend to focus on online places to buy abstract stuff, I actually think this type of item can be found both online and in real life.
Let’s start online.
Honestly, the best places I’ve found to buy abstract clocks is Print on Demand websites. Sites like Society6, RedBubble and Zazzle.
The abstract clocks on Society6 are very simple but have a cool modern design. They’re all circular, with thin hands and a black outer edge.
The abstract clocks on RedBubble are similar in design – circular design with thin hands – but RB has a little more variety. They have other colors than just black, like natural wood and white.
Zazzle’s abstract clocks aren’t as modern, but they do have both circle AND square designs that you can order.
One thing that frustrates me, is that Fine Art America doesn’t have clocks to buy, and I have an account on it. SMH. Oh well.
You could probably find some cool abstract-designed wall clocks on Etsy as well.
As for brick and mortar, I’ve seen some really cool abstract/modern/contemporary clocks in random home good stores. I’ve seen some cool ones at Pier 1 Imports, Ikea, and At Home.
Look hard enough, and you’ll probably find one.

Where to Buy Abstract Phone Cases Online
Recently, I had decided that the case for my iPhone 6s was a little boring, and needed some flair. It was just a simple black case, a Bodyguardz or something like that; one of those tough, hard rubber cases that wraps around the back.
Now the case has worked well enough – I’ve dropped the phone a few times on the back or the corners, and it’s lasted thus far.
Although, this case, unlike the OtterBox is used to have years ago, doesn’t cover the screen, so I do have a few “bullet holes” in the glass screen protector on the front.
I digress.
Now, due to my love of all things abstract, I wasn’t in the mood a normal phone case. No no no. I wanted something with a little pizzazz if you will.
What did I do?
I searched for abstract phone cases of course.
In this article, I’m going to share with you the results of my search. I found 9 decent places to get a new phone case, regardless of whether you use iOS or Android. I haven’t used all of these sites, I’m merely sharing the ones that I found here.
The list below is a combination of these TYPES OF SITES. This includes:
Marketplaces
Print on Demand
Phone Case specific
While I did include large marketplaces in this list like Amazon, I did NOT include out of the country direct importing sites like:
AliExpress
Alibaba
DHGate
My reason for this is that it takes a really long time to receive these items, and these websites tend to be more for reselling, meaning you have to buy a bunch to get better prices. Also, since they are usually B2B and not B2C, the user experience is not nearly as good.
Best of luck and I hope you find one that’s right for you.
Etsy (My Recommended Choice)
Type: Marketplace
Etsy is a marketplace where people can sell their own handmade or vintage items. The phone cases here generally made or at least designed, by a regular person.
What’s nice about Etsy is the vast selection they have, due to how many people use the platform.
The reason I like Etsy is that most of the time, when you buy something on here, you’re supporting a person, not a large company.
The only “issue” I see with finding these cases on Etsy, is that you may be limited on finding a style you like in your specific phone model. While the style range may be wider, the types of cases you can get may be narrower than a site that specializes in phone cases. (see below)
Here’s an advantage though: If you find a style there that you like, but it’s not available for your phone type, the best thing you can do is message the artist directly, to see if there’s any way they could make one to your specifications.
Etsy has a lot of talented artists around, and many of the cases are very cool looking. That’s why I recommend them.

Amazon
Type: Marketplace
I shouldn’t really have to say much about the biggest retailer on the internet. Obviously, Amazon has almost everything you could ask for, and abstract designed phone accessories are no different.
While Amazon has the biggest selection of everything online in one place, and low shipping, it’s hard to go anywhere else.
The only reason I don’t recommend Amazon is because they’re already big. I like suggesting other places to help other sites get recognized.
Also, while they have everything, that doesn’t mean they’re the best choice. They just have a lot of stuff.
But if you’re just looking for rock bottom prices, this is the place to go.

Society6
Type: Print on Demand
Society6 is a “print on demand” site, meaning that a person will upload their designs, and Society6 (s6) will take those designs, print them on objects, and then ship it out to you.
From what I’ve seen, Society6 has quite a few cases available with abstract designs, and many are pretty darn cool. Usually the prices on a site like this tend to run a little higher than a marketplace site like Amazon or eBay, since the artist is the one creating the designs, but they only get a small sliver of the actual sale.
But again, if you want to support an artist, this is a great way to do it.

RedBubble (2nd Recommendation)
Type: Print on Demand
RedBubble is very similar to Society6, but it has more available listings. Not only for phone cases, but home furnishings as well.
They also have designs available for many, many different types of phones. Even iPhone 4’s. Talk about retro. (lol)

Fine Art America
Type: Print on Demand
Fine Art America is the largest print on demand site that I know of. They have thousands and thousands of designs available from a wide array of artists.
I’ve even sold items on FAA.
My biggest complaint about Fine Art America is their actual site. It’s not always intuitive, and sometimes isn’t the easiest to use to find items, but if you can find what you’re looking for in a design, you can customize quite a bit before buying.

Design By Humans
Type: Print on Demand
I like this site, but I didn’t see a whole lot on here. I’d check this after the three aforementioned PoD sites first.

Zazzle
Type: Print on Demand
Similar results as above, but one thing that I like about Zazzle’s case selection is that they have OtterBox cases – something I didn’t see on the other sites (I may have missed it).
I flippin love OtterBox cases – I use to abuse the heck out of mine, and it stood up to everything I threw at it. Pretty decent selection here.

Teespring
Type: Print on Demand
Like the others listed above, this site started off as t-shirts only (I believe).
Honestly, I didn’t see many results for these types of phone cases, so I’d check here as a last resort. That’s not a slight to the company – there just aren’t a lot of results here. I basically added this to give you another option for looking.

Casetify
Type: Item Specific
Casetify is a case website that also has covers for computers, tablets and watches. Their selection for phone cases is decent, with a lot of “hip” and “bright” designs available. They even have wallet cases, which is pretty dope.
It looks like they have cases for Android phones, but their specialty is Apple products.

SkinIt (3rd Recommendation)
Type: item Specific
SkinIt is a pretty cool site that does what Casetify does – but better. Not only do they have phone cases for Samsung and iPhone, they also have abstract phone cases for Google’s Pixel phone.
They also have “skins” available for game consoles, laptops, and tablets.
And if all that wasn’t cool enough, you can simply upload your own design to be printed, and have something you uploaded become a skin or case that you can use.
Talk about customization!

My Love of All Things Abstract
Hey there. My name’s Coty. I’m an abstract artist out of Arizona (in the US). I thought I’d share real quick look at my background, and how this site even came to be.
What’s Abstract
Before I painted, I used to be like many other people: I didn’t know much about or care for abstract art. In fact, I didn’t know what the difference between what abstract was versus contemporary or modern and even figurative art. (They’re all very different things, but I won’t get into that lol).
I had seen different abstract pieces over the years, but thought they were kind of weird. And basic. I thought very little of them.
Of course, I had heard of Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock, but I didn’t know much about them or their work, only that they were famous.
Again I didn’t care whatsoever.
My “Painting Background”
As a kid I never really painted. Sure I painted some watercolors paintings and finger paintings and all that normal stuff you do as a child, but nothing on my own when I was old enough to do so.
Occasionally I’d draw (decently, if given enough time) and sometimes I’d write stories, but painting was never on my radar.
And it was driven even further away in high school.
We had a task to create a surrealist painting. I chose a picture of a lighthouse on a beach. So I went to work, and painted that stupid lighthouse.
And it turned out not so great.
Not only did I have no practice in painting, the subject matter bored me, so I didn’t really care how it turned out.
When I turned it in, my art teacher was really disappointed and expressed that disappointment very clearly.
She hated it. I hated it. The world probably hated it.
Oh well, I thought. It’s not like I planned on painting professionally in the future anyway.
Flash Forward
Skip ahead about 15 years.
I had multiple kids, a wife, and no job.
The writing hadn’t taken off, and I never drew, ever. Which was fine.
But in March of 2017, we had a painting party for my daughter. We let all the kids paint on these little easels my father in law made, and the kids painted their little pieces. I joined in with them.
The kids had a lot of fun doing it…
And secretly, so did I.
About this time, I watched a satirical video about modern art, and how it’s all garbage. While the video was meant to mock modern art, and the art world in general, I probably watched that video a dozen times.
It didn’t make me hate modern art… It had the opposite effect on me.
It inspired me to make it.
I started watching copious amounts of painting videos and reading blogs and looking at pictures, and I just started painting abstract paintings.
Any dollar I could spare went into this new found hobby. When I started, I found myself painting up to 5 paintings A DAY. I could not quench the desire I had to create.
I created, I tested, I learned, I progressed.
As I created more and more pieces, and I started researching art history (because now it was interesting to me), my admiration for abstract art grew.
After some time, it went well past just paintings, for a while it was sculptures and drawings and digital art as well.
That was all and good, but it really set in when I started to wonder what other, normal, everyday things in abstract form would look like.
As I researched, I found a lot of great pieces online. Cool things that most people may never see or hear of.
I decided to create a website about abstract furnishings – a collection of articles about abstract versions of things most people wouldn’t normally think of or search for.
And thus the site before you.
This site is about anything you might find in your home, business or life – but in abstract form. Furniture. Accessories. Apparel. Whatever. If it’s abstract, you’ll probably find it here.
Well, that’s pretty much my spiel. Sorry it’s a little long winded.
If you need anything, be sure to holler. I’m around, usually.
And enjoy your stay.
All the best,
Coty Schwabe
