6/12-6/16
On Monday I went back to Spandauer Vorstdast so that they could fix my phone at Apple, it took a couple hours and I got my nails done in the meantime at Ohlala Beauty and I got the Essie color Shearling Darling which I love, the girl did a really good job too. I wanted to get a blueberry muffin but they didn’t have them today so I got a bubble waffle which was actually really good and the fro yo in it was okay. Then after work I hung out with Marvin who I met at Kit Kat on Saturday.
On Tuesday I had lunch with Cindy who is a journalist and we went to Fatoush, which was actually quite good. I think I just worked after.
On Wednesday I had to go to Racha’s because I broke my necklace so he fixed it for me. I got a chai from two different places and a scone. Then I went to holzmarket and just sat there for a bit.
On Thursday I went to Friedrichshain. I stopped by Markethalle Neun, which I realized I had been to before. Apparently they have street food thurs starting at like 5pm so I wish I went later. Then I went to Marheinke Market in Friedrichshain which is where I always got my souvlaki pita but this time she wouldn’t give me the chicken one and gave me pork so it wasn’t as good but pretty close and I think the same price!! I walked around and there’s so many cool stores, seriously what the heck did I do when I lived there that I didn’t find any of this stuff?? There’s a ton of thrift shops and paper shops and just really cute. Then I got some ice cream from the corner at the Market while waiting for the bus. At night I went to Dark Matter. It was cool, but not something I would do again. The outside exhibit was nice and I would go again with people but I was really hungry and got kinda bored alone so I left before it ended.
On Friday I had my flight to Vienna at night so I did a bunch of my work earlier. The weather was pretty gloomy but I walked around and went into a few places. I got a chai which SUCKED from Vollkonr-Backerie Hartwich. Maybe I should’ve tried a baked good instead. Then I got a smoothie bowl from Kala which was also not great like it had chunks of frozen coconut milk? I had to pack earlier, but I made myself a sandwich after I got back and then catch my flight which was delayed but I got in and went to bed!

I went to the farmers market at Box Platz today! I knew I wanted to go back asap and it’s just as cute as I remember. It’s my first official full weekend back in Berlin and I didn’t do anything last night but tonight I am going back to Kit Kat. I got some flowers from the market guy who made it difficult when asking how many peonies I wanted. I got a chai from the actual permanent cafe stand there and they blend it so it was like a frozen chai, not bad! I tried the yogurt place and thought it would be more like fro yo but it was just flavored yogurt so I wasn’t a fan and then I tried the souvlaki skewers but they were pork so I also didn’t really like it, but good tzatziki! Next time I will have to get pasta again from the guys who make it in the wheel because I remember that it was really good. When I was waiting for my skewer this homeless woman was walking by and yelled at me and pinched me like wtf. I went out with Andreas at night and met two of his friends Thor and Anna. It was a fun night and I got home around 11:00-11:30? Then I went to the flea market near Urban Spree and got a great leather jacket but afterwards I was so dead. I tried some takeout from Fire Tiger or whatever it’s called but it wasn’t good and I was just dead the rest of the day, went to bed at like 9:30 haha.

I went to Spandauer Vorstdadt and had an amazing blueberry muffin at Cafe Neundrei. Then I walked around some more and tried another chocolate chip cookie from Round & Edgy which was really not bad and vegan too! Probably the best cookie I’ve had in Europe actually.

I went shopping for some things for Kit Kat for tonight because Joy is leaving on Thursday so it’s her last night here sadly. I walked around and tried a cookie from Spooning that’s very close to Stephanie’s place, it was okay. I’m looking for American style cookies here but they just don’t make them as well as they do at home! The cookie was genuinely so raw it was falling apart and the sweet ratio never works idk. I got some things from Coexist store and they had some fun shoes I wish I had space for and could try on. There’s also so many little boutiques idk what I was doing when I studied here because I feel like I didn’t explore anything lol. We went to Kit Kat around 11 and then left at like 3:30 so solid night, it was fun and then I got a yummy Reece’s wafer bar after

Okay, I am trying to think back so we will see how well this goes but I got into Berlin after a little delayed flight and no one was home so I went to Matanga which actually had a really good bruschetta app. Then I went to Racha’s place because Stephanie was going to be home very late. Then the next day Racha drove me to hers and I was able to finally settle in. I walked around Friedrichshain to get reacquainted and went to Homemade cafe which had a chai tea not a sweet latte so I didn’t love it but they had a good bread and jam in the breakfast plate I got. I went to the store to get a few things but the fridge is small so I didn’t want to get too much. They had some tomatoes on sale at Rewe which are really really good.

Copenhagen 5/29-6/4
Day 1: I got in and went to my tattoo appt right away. I went to Fiol Cafe for a chai after. Then Luca and I went to a cute park for a little and then I went to Zalt for dinner. It was not as good as last time at all unfortunately.
Day 2: I went walk around and popped into Louise Roe which is a furniture place, but also has a cafe. I got a cookie there which was decent, then I went to Benji the Bakery and got a chocolate croissant there. The dough was really good and I want to try a regular one next time. Afterwards I walked around a bit more until I had to work. I got dinner at Trattoria Fiat, which was pretty good. I got a truffle pasta that I wish tasted a bit more truffley but the waiter added a bunch more on top for me. I wasn’t feeling great still so went to bed pretty early.
Day 3: I got a chai from 7-11 because I discovered they use the came brand of chai mix as Fiol, but I think it’s not quite as good because it’s just on water and not milk maybe? Pretty close though and a little cheaper. I went to CIEE after to say hi to the program director quickly and then did some shopping. I got a sweater from BOII and skirt from Gina Tricot. I went to check out Freetown Christania and it was okay imo. Not mad that I didn’t go the first times around lol. I got dinner from Stragaas which was a decent chicken pita, just so pricey. One of the girls in my hostel room was from Argentina and I tried this verdeflor drink that was not my thing haha.
Day 4: I started off my day by getting a croissant from Buka which was really good. Then I just walked around more around the lakes and popped into Bagt for a sandwich. In the evening I went to the Vesterbro Street Party with Joy. We tried H15 for dinner which I didn’t really like the options. It was really fun and we met up with Alex, but it got super cold at night.
Day 5: I went to Fars Dreng for their tomato salad which was really good, their chai was straight milk though lol. After I went to work at Fiol and Andreas met up with me there. We went to Distortion festival with Joy and it was really fun, met up with Alex again. Saw Charlotte de Witte which I really liked!
Day 6: I got snacks from Anderson & Maillard, the bread with cheese was good! The chocolate croissant was interesting but I only tried it the next day so kinda dry. I got a eh chai from Beads and Brews or something like that. I wanted to try Lua and the thai place nearby but didn’t have time. Joy and I went to Reffen for dinner where I got decent carbonara pasta and bad ice cream haha. Then we went to Distortion, which was maybe even better the second day. We left around 5am and I was so tired.
Day 7: Didn’t have time to do anything before my flight lol, got a chai at Espresso House at the airport which was so good.
