The transcoded (and in two cases also superhero) main character white boy, his slow burn love interest who doesn’t fit a “stereotypical girl” and who takes the back seat to the popular girl (Liz, Paulina, and Susie respectively) until mc comes to his senses, and genius nerd but girl crazy best friend who is always integral to mc’d schemes.

Specifically the Danny phantom and Spider-Man trios are like EXACTLY the same: but I feel like Ned’s declassified is an honorable mention.

After a rewatch of the owl house, one thing I noticed that I have yet to see ANYONE talk about is in the episode where we get Eda backstory and we see when she finds the portal door for the first time. I think it’s the episode where we see her mother for the first time, but either way there’s a clip of her running from the house and she trips on the corner of the door. And I noticed the arch looks suspiciously like the one in the human realm in thanks to them.

So now I’m thinking about how much it makes sense, too. It connects Evelyn to being a claw thorn as well. I think it’s safe to assume that when they come out the other end of that portal it will be at this gate. Which is interesting because that means that on either end of this gate there was an item that allows inter dimensional travel. In the human realm, titans blood was buried nearby, and in the demon realm the portal door was there. It’s seeming likely that this gate was a place that Evelyn and Caleb likely used to travel between realms often, probably bc it was convenient for both of them. It being nearby Caleb’s town, and potentially near Evelyn’s. This points to Evelyn likely living in the nearest house (the Clawthorns’ house and then it stayed in the family) and that if she left the blood there, she likely was the previous owner of the door as well. Anyway I can’t wait for the next episode- I want more lore.

I knew that when Hunter goes to hexide in “Any Sport in a Storm” he tells willow and Gus his name is Caleb but I COMPLETELY FORGOT THAT FLAPJACK GAVE HIM THE IDEA AND CHIRPED TO HIM THE NAME AND THAT MAKES ME 🫠🫠🫠

Imagining the Darius and Hunter reunion and realizing that Darius is going to see Hunter with(in descending order of importance):

Eight times as many scars as he used to have.

No bird

A fucking mullet that he doesn’t seem to like any more than anyone else does

Different colored eyes

A weird homemade yellow and black jumpsuit thing that he’s using as pants

A shirt with unfamiliar dog-like creatures on it that practically exudes Cringy Emo Teen Energy

The shirt is also homemade

My man’s gonna have an aneurism, and then another one after he finds out that despite it being around a year since he last saw him all these changes happened within the last two fucking days.

So I have a theory about Willow's difficulties with magic.

In Escaping Expulsion, Eda states that witches cast spells by mixing phlegm in their bile sacks. I theorize there are only four types of phlegm: Light, fire, ice, and plant. These four elements are the basic building blocks of all spells.

The four glyphs also correspond to these four elements. If my phlegm theory is true, this would mean that witches mixing phlegm in their bile sacks is basically the same as Luz combining glyphs.

Here's where I'm going with this: there is only one coven/Hexside track that requires pure elemental magic.

Plants.

Willow was a late bloomer. For a long time, she couldn't do much magic at all. However, her plant magic is fricking amazing. And it probably was always excellent.

Here's what I'm getting at: what if the reason Willow had trouble with magic is because she has a major phlegm imbalance? Maybe her bile sack barely makes any light, fire, or ice phlegm, but it pumps out TONS of plant phlegm? It explains both why she is so powerful, and why she had so much trouble learning magic as a kid. If she doesn't have the other phlegm, how the hell is she supposed to control an abomination or cast an illusion spell??? But on the flip side, she has EXTRA plant phlegm. Much more than the average witch. This would perfectly explain why she is such a prodigy with plant magic.

Willow was never a half-a-witch. She was always a hyper-specialist.

And a powerful one.

Thinking about how Luz always wanted to be the hero and slowly she lets that go and instead focuses on protecting her family and really having a cause to fight for rather than fighting to just fight and Hunter just wanted to keep his family together despite being extremely unhappy in the role of a “hero” he’s been forced into and he is learning to let his family go and be a normal kid. And I think that’s so important. Their arcs are reversed and they’re both better for it.

[SPOILER WARNING] MMMM I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Owl House season three and Hunter specifically bc my god this poor boy needs a break so here’s me ranting about theories and fic ideas I have that will likely never come to fruition but have me THINKING

Theory: okay so like I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this but I’m pretty sure we don’t know the origin of Hunter’s scar, but it was interesting how after belos left his body besides just new scars it looked more like the one he already had also grew. Kinda has me thinking is this not the first time Belos had done something like this to Hunter, and that’s what left the scar? Or potentially to his predecessor and when he remade another grimwalker it kept a scar from the previous version? Idk either way Hunter seemed upset by belos possessing, but NOT surprised or confused- which worries me.

Also it seems most people sort of agree that Evelyn is a predecessor to Edalyn bc it makes too much sense. But if that’s the case, I haven’t really seen people talking about the fact that then Hunter POTENTIALLY could a reincarnation of Edalyn and Lilith’s great- something- grandfather. If we’re assuming Caleb and Evelyn were romantically involved like Masha suggests on the hay ride. And that opens up a LOT of interesting… somethings.

Fic ideas: obviously have numerous “Hunter recovering from abuse” stories and like “Raine and Darius being his unofficial parents” style fics going around in my head but I had one today that sparked from listening to Teir Abhaile Riu by Celtic Woman and basically imagining Caleb entering the demon realm for the first time with Evelyn and becoming amazed by everything there and coming to love magic.

BUT THEN I THOUGHT: what if Hunter (in all his identity crises) starts having some sort of magical dreams or visions once they’re back in the demon realm next episode and he has a really strong one of this moment except he’s in Caleb’s head reliving the memories basically (which doesn’t give him a crisis, ABSOLUTELY not…) and even has a moment where he first looks at Evelyn in the dream and is like “…Eda?” But by the end of the dream he’s not acting like Hunter, he’s acting like Caleb completely lost in the memory. He’s basically experiencing magic and finds glyphs in this old tower and learns magic, but knowing his brother he wants to protect it so he destroys the tower so Phillip can’t find them (this is why Phillip wanted to find them so bad when Luz went back in time… and why the tower King’s egg was in was completely in shambles…👀). And eventually he gets to the argument that ended with Phillip killing Caleb and when he gets stabbed in the dream he wakes up in a cold sweat and starts having even more trouble distinguishing himself from Caleb.

My mind is fucking insane about them rn
