The Latest Attack on Islam: It’s Not a Religion Too many Americans would deny Muslims the religious liberty they insist upon for Christians.

LINK: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/26/opinion/islamophobia-muslim-religion-politics.html
This statement above seems unique. In recent days, however, elected officials, legal professionals but also leading public columnists have argued that the first amendment does not apply Muslims. The base on which the first amendment stands is to protect the practices of all-American beliefs. Many political leaders and people working for the government do not consider Islam as a religion thus they deny all the rights given by First amendments to the people. In a meeting in Dallas, Michael Flynn, shortly Trump's National Security Counselor, claimed that "Islam is a political ideology which disguises under the presumption of a religion." Many leaders like Neal Tapio (Republican State senator) questions the First amendment on whether or whether not it implies to people following Islam religion. I feel depressed that people with this kind of mindset are the powerful and influential people of the nation working towards peace, really? In a recent article on Trump, it said that Trump was held responsible for accusing a Muslim to be a part of 9/11 attack. Totally disregarding a faith like Muslims is rational upon its culture and how the people who supported in it were fighting for. Elijah Muhammad, for instance, is an Islamic religious and political leader. Also, Muslims, however particularly Black people were called upon by the Nation of Islam. The first issue of racism started when people called white supremacist (white devils), this is the seed our government has kept on nourishing and the issue of racism has grown over time. Let’s hope not but if people who are against Islam are effective in disowning the religious rights of Islam according to the first amendment, who would stay responsible for restraining religious liberty.

Death toll rises to 50 in New Zealand mosque shootings

LINK: https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/16/asia/christchurch-new-zealand-mosque-shooting-latest/index.html
On March 15th, 2019's most tragic incident took place, which was a fatal mass killing in New Zealand. The whole mass shoot was held on the Mosque, where 50 people were killed. Two places of worship directly beneath each other and are assaulted with several pistols by a white racist. The video of the shooting was live up on Facebook. Name of the shooter wasn’t declared in public. The hatred against the Muslim community in his mind triggered the attack. We studied in religious class about these kinds of people, who kill members of the certain community because of the hatred they have on them. There is a common stereotype among people that Muslims are generally responsible for mass attacks, bombing and various other violent acts however people don’t understand a small group of people destroys communities name. On Friday, several Muslims meet at the mosque to supplicate and to listen to the lesson consistently. This was a planned attack because the shooter chooses a specific place (mosque) for the attack, because of his hatred towards the Muslim community. Muslims in Western nations have been misunderstood a lot because they are a minority group and tend for not being in one of the most common areas of politics. Several ordinary people who may not understand the Islamic beliefs and customs, for instance, ISIS, who guarantees to maintain Islamic beliefs (which is clearly not valid) are very often effectively conditioned mentally in the media in the suspension of Islam as savagery in certain structures by fanatical gatherings. Some also believe that police took an ample amount of time to reach the place of incident. In the video posted by this mentally ill person, he killed a woman on her head while she was calling out for help. Personally, I had seen this video online which made me feel sad for all those innocent lives lost due to the hatred of one.

In A Congress Full Of Firsts, Still No Open Atheists

LINK: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/congress-atheists-representation_n_5c2f9b03e4b0bdd0de588425
In our week seventh material and lecture, the article, "A Congress Full of Firsts, Still not Open Atheists." According to this article, the representatives of Muslim women, Native American women, a bisexual senator, and the youngest women are now represented in Congress. However, with the exception of Krysten Sinema, Congress still does not represent atheists and agnostics. She is a senator who pledged a book from Congress Library and not the traditional Bible. The article criticized that Congress still lacks U.S. atheists and agnostics because of one-quarter of the U.S. the population is atheists. In the lecture, we learned that the population of atheists and agnostics is increasing among the younger generation in the United States. This is linked to the article and supports why atheists and agnostics should be represented more. Therefore, atheists and agnostics are only represented in this American policy principle. There is also a need for more atheists and agnostics to be represented because our political system is built upon separation from State and Church. I think that atheists and agnostics can also bring binary issues to the heart of our politics.

'Evil Acts': Son Of Sheriff's Deputy Is Chief Suspect In Black Church Arson Cases

LINK: https://www.npr.org/2019/04/11/712173532/authorities-arrest-suspect-linked-to-3-burned-black-churches-in-louisiana
For a change, a white male was arrested on 11th April 2019. The reason behind his arrest was, this man burned three of the best historical black churches. This 21-year-old suspect was Holden Mathews, son of a well-respected deputy sheriff. However, the Sheriff had no clue about the things his son had been planning and doing. Many believe that this was an act against the religious figure because there were no casualties. It is regarded as militarism because of the destruction and hatred for religion, one of the three evils. The article discusses the suspect's relationship with the genre of black metal music that is associated with church Incendies in Norway as well as many others. For Black people, black churches also recognized as the invisible institution seem to be of great importance. Black Church was a place to be sane in this insane world of hatred and slavery. The places of worship have all been built in rural areas since decades and through marriages, funerals and religious services they served generations of largely Black families. This has been described by many to be an act of discrimination, as several such actions have occurred many years ago. It is also a horrendous act of discrimination as well as brutality, as Pastors say. Heidi Beirich, the enforcer of the intelligence project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, said religious places such as the Black Church mostly attack criminal offense. Incidents like this have caused many misshapen because many believe religious places to be with peace and prosperity; people visit them when one is happy and sad, however after the incident, many are rethinking visits to such places for their own safety.

Survey: Most Americans continue to oppose religious service refusals to LGBT people

LINK: https://religionnews.com/2019/03/26/survey-most-americans-continue-to-oppose-religious-service-refusals-to-lgbt-people/
The PRI study investigates popular opposition against the religious rejection of homosexuals and gay women. The questionnaire has been predicated on Colorado's case that, because of his religious belief, a Colorado baker denied to make a cake for a homosexual couple, and also the judges determined he has been entitled to do so. The study found that 57% of Americans opposed service denials and 36% supported service denials. Two main religious groups: Jewish and Black Protestant will be represented in 57% of people. Almost all of the U.S. Jews throughout the school environment are Leftists and faithful to the DP. The Jews in the United States are very small, but highly educated and affluent. For the black Protestant, I read in the book that at least once a week, 85% of African American Protestants see religion as a major part of their lives and attend worship services. This could clarify how a large proportion of Jews and Black Protestants are opposed to religious discrimination. In tolerating same-sex marriage they are much more open-minded and progressive. On the other hand, two religious groups favor the refusal of the Evangelicals, the Mormons and the homosexuals and lesbians to serve. Many white evangelists had become one of the Republican Party's most loyal constituencies by the early twenty-first century, according to the book, and a huge number of white evangelists are political conservatives. Mormons like white evangelicals are amongst the greatest political groups in the Republic, sharing the cultural conservatism of evangelicals. Each religious group should have the right to respect and defend its own traditions as long as they are legal. And LGBT people can always find another place to acknowledge them. They stand on one side of homosexuals and lesbians due to their high religious standards and conservative moral values. If I were the owner, I would bake for them. But, if it runs counter to the owner's belief, I believe that he is entitled, on the other side of homosexuales and Lesbians, to refuse their high religious standards and conservative moral values. If I were the owner, I would bake for them. And if this case goes against either the owner's belief, I believe he has the right to refuse.

Poll Finds Atheism Is No Longer a Political Taboo

LINK: https://www.patheos.com/blogs/tippling/2018/12/11/poll-finds-atheism-is-no-longer-a-political-taboo/
A recent Pew Research survey has shown that many Americans remain uncomfortable in electing a president that does not believe in God. When asked how their chances of promoting a candidate for president would impact, about half (53 for every cent) of Americans said that they would support less an atheist. Let's look at their past and how atheists have made themselves come to this stage, to understand the change in people's behavior, no doubt that atheists, at least probably in the United States, aren't the most popular group. Two-thirds of Americans not only say that they wouldn't be comfortable and confident with an atheist president, but also with 48 percent saying that they would be very uncomfortable with this outlook. 45% say they have an unfavorable view of atheists, while 46% report they are favorable. More white Americans seem to have an unfavorable opinion of atheists, such as Mormons, Muslims, Catholics, and Jews. The campaign by the American Atheists to "call out" the atheists of the closet during the holidays may not do much to improve their public image. However, it may not even be effective to take religion in this public and direct way, attracting many who would seem to be an easy goal: self-identified atheists. But, approximately three out of 10 atheists believe they participate at least rarely, whereas 71 percent say they never attend religious services. all these results indicate that several atheists do not wish to refuse to expose their children to religious traditions in a way that enables them to make a thoughtful, informed choice about their faith (or lack of it). The reason I chose this article is that I want to know the common ground that combines and becomes mutually exclusive for these two communities. How you shape the system to the place it resides.

Have you ever wondered how the Lord calls His prophets?

LINK: https://www.lds.org/church/news/review-the-15-major-church-announcements-since-president-nelson-became-prophet?lang=eng
President Russell M. Nelson, with President Dallin H. Oaks as First Counselor and President Henry B. Eyring as Second Counselor, will serve as the 17th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As Acting President of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles, Chairman M. Russell Ballard will serve. The Church of Jesus Christ, often regarded as Mormons, is discussed in this article. Mormonism characterizes Church doctrines that the Prophet Joseph Smith restored to the earth. Until they inquire what Mormonism is, Church members often talk about their affection of Jesus Christ the Saviour. A Savior plays a crucial role in Mormonism. In enterprise and charity, literacy and science, political groups and the administration, the entertainment business and the news press the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints is made up of members from every society. This article discusses the 15 Major Church Announcements Since President Nelson Became Prophet:
1. Priesthood quorums are restructured.
2. Ministering replaces home and visiting teaching.
3. The Church to end its relationship with Boy Scouts at the end of 2019, create new children and youth development program.
4. Updates to come to Church hymnbook and Children’s Songbook.
5. New guidelines for youth bishop interviews are established.
6. Calling The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by its full name.
7. So long, snail mail—mission calls to be posted online.
8. Gone are the days of “MoTab.” Church announces a revised name for choir.
9. “Home-centered and Church-supported” program begins.
10. President Nelson announces 19 new temples.
The reason this article seemed quite interesting to me was that; kings are temporary, but the dynasty is permanent. Rule under this new King seems quite interesting because he has brought several new changed and added many guidelines for the followers. The main motto is to bring change in people’s mind, bring peace among general populations. On the other hand, are these going to really make a difference to attainting the internal and external peace as directed by God?

A Deist in Christian Clothing

LINK: https://evolutionnews.org/2018/09/a-deist-in-christian-clothing/
I chose this article because it's one of the most incredible articles I've found. He talks about Denis Lamoureux, who holds doctoral degrees in biology and theology. He attacked any argument for design detectability in nature throughout his career. He has also stated confidently that the development of natural processes can explain life fully. His position could raise the question of whether he's a Christian deist who tries to undermine the traditional creativity beliefs from within. One needs to know Christian Deist to know the real Denis. Deism is a religion based principally upon nature and reasoning and is based on supposed revelations by certain "supernatural" means in contrast to other religions. Deists think that people have "free will" to choose how they live in the context of natural laws that govern the world. Sometimes it is said that deists believe God made the world, put it into operation and then didn't have any more interest. This idea is, however, the result of a misunderstanding of the analogy which compared God to a "watch-maker" and the world to a "watch." The analogy was only intended to say that it was logical to infer the existence of a willful "designer" or watch-maker from the complex and purposeful "design" of a watch. Also, deisms infer the existence of the purposive "designer" or creator called "God" from the "designs" that are seen in our world and in us. Christian deists believe that God has an ongoing interest in the world and in humanity, but that God does not control the whole world or of humanity. A "free agent" is someone whose authority and the ability to select his / her actions is someone who can make mistakes. They are a free agent in the free world. A' free world' usually works as it works, but it can cause failures or accidents. Christian deism is against the doctrine of predestination where all happenings are thought to be "The Will of God." John Calvin advocated the theory of predestination, where God supposedly determines all that happens, whether it is good or bad. This theory is heard, for instance, when a person is killed in a car accident, and somebody says, "God must have a purpose in this." Christian Deists believe that for anything "bad" to happen it is never "the will of God." Anything that is "bad" that is destructive for human life. An accident or human action is likely. For instance, an illness can be caused by an accidental infection or a person who chooses to smoke cigarettes can be caused. No one's made sick or good by God. Our health is partly controlled and partly beyond our control. God gives our bodies and minds certain natural strength to cure many diseases, but by "supernatural" action God does not intervene directly to cure. After reading the article and understanding Christian Deists I became aware of the fact that Lamoureux unwittingly encourages Christians not to enter into meaningful dialogue, but to give up their rights to critically assess materialistic theories on the origin and development of life. This dialog is not a meaningful dialog between faith and science. In addition, they undertake to abolish any evidence of direct design in nature.
