I was inspired by the photogram that you showed in class the other day, in which you used two different exposure times for separate objects so that there were different opacities. As soon as I saw that, I knew that I would be using this picture of Goku for my project. I think I will make a cutout of the yellow flames around him and expose it for about 3 seconds, and then use a cutout of his body, which I will expose for 12 seconds. This way, his body will be much more opaque than the flames.

These are the photograms I made in class the other day. The first one turned out pretty nice. The second one, however, did not work at all. I am not really sure why, but I definitely made some sort of error. I will have to figure that out.

This is a picture of Rock Lee. He is a character from my favorite show, which is Naruto. The show is about ninjas, and basically all of them have powers. However, Rock Lee is a special case because, for some reason, he is unable to use powers, which is a major obstacle for his ultimate goal to become a great ninja. Instead of giving up though, Lee trains super hard with what he does have; his arms and legs. During the moment of this picture, Lee was fighting one of the strongest people in the show. Everyone doubted him and thought that he had ZERO chance of victory since he had no powers. But this was his moment to prove everyone wrong, and Lee actually ended up beating up the other guy really badly. Unfortunately, the other guy made a comeback and ended up paralyzing Lee and knocking him out. In this picture, Lee is actually completely unconscious... which is why it has been inspiring me lately. Even though he is extremely wounded and literally not even awake from the pain of his wounds, Lee gets up and reassumes fighting stance.
Over winter break, I took my MCAT exam. I studied extremely hard for it, but on test day I feel like the test beat me up. I was super down about this for a few days after and felt like all my hard work had gone to wasted, but then... I remembered this Rock Lee fight.
Not only did he subconsciously persevere, but after the fight, Lee worked even harder than before and made a full recovery from his paralysis. I plan to do the same so that I can conquer the MCAT on the retake. He may have lost that one fight, but his journey after is proof that he becomes a great ninja. I, too, will not let my setback keep me down.

This is my "work in progress" pic. I stole this lock from my parents so that I can store my film in a locker in Sage. Its also a pretty cool looking lock

This is a picture of my grandpa and his brothers during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. This picture is very special to me for a few reasons. First off, its just a dope picture. Like who doesn't love seein their grandpas posted up with a bunch of guns? That's just super cool.
On a more serious note though, I hold an enormous amount of pride in the fact that my grandfather was a muktijuddha (freedom fighter). It almost feels like value—a value that I hold very close to my heart. It serves as a reminder for me to make sure to do the right thing every single day. Not only that, but this picture reminds me of the sacrifices that my grandpa and so so so so many of his peers had to make to preserve my Bangla language and culture and to eventually achieve freedom from the oppressive Pakistani regime.
This picture is also a little funny because, while growing up with him, my grandpa put a lot of emphasis on dressing your best. And this picture is proof that he's always been the way that he is because he is the only brother in it that is wearing a turtleneck... in one of the bloodiest human wars. Truly a special person😂
