🧚🏽♀️Issue #6: Documentation🧚🏽♀️
Any communicable material used to describe, explain, or instruct about some attributes of an object, system, or procedure, such as its parts, assembly, installation, maintenance, and use, is considered documentation. Documentation can be provided on paper, online, or on digital or analog media like audio tapes or CDs.
Proper records must be kept in order to facilitate the provision of research, institutional requirements, billing accuracy, and legal compliance. Obviously, confidentiality must be maintained even while keeping records. However, these records can be used in an emergency situation if necessary (American Psychological Association 2010). Records must be sufficient to ensure the continuity and proper coordination of activities with those of others
(Canadian Psychological Association 2000)

🧚🏽♀️Issue #5: Informed Consent🧚🏽♀️
The consent of both the person involved and the representing council must be obtained. If the person is legally incapable of providing consent, an attorney must be retained. The forensic psychologist must inform the individual about the various parameters associated with the anticipated services, such as confidentiality limits. When written consent cannot be obtained, oral consent can be used. In this case, however, the examination intervention must be clearly stated and explained to the individual (Shapiro 2016).
The psychologist has a strong obligation to determine whether or not the client is represented by a council. Fees, previous personal or professional relationships, or any other factors that may influence the relationship Later stages must be resolved at the outset (American Psychological Association 2013). The forensic psychologist must consider what might cause a bias, such as a conflict of interest, the competence of the examiner, and the scientific basis or limitations. The informed consent extends to any additional sources of information that may influence their decision to participate
(American Psychological Association 2010).

🧚🏽♀️Issue #4: Multiple Relationships🧚🏽♀️
It is defined as being in one professional role with a person and another with the same person or a closely related person at the same time, or promising to enter into another relationship with a person or a closely related person (Shapiro 2016). If the psychologist is required to serve multiple roles in legal proceedings due to law, institutional policy, or unusual circumstances, they must clarify their role expectations and the extent of confidentiality at the outset and as circumstances change (American Psychological Association 2010). Furthermore, forensic psychologists must not take on a professional role if they have a conflict of interest that could jeopardize their competency, objectivity, or effectiveness in doing psychological work (American Psychological Association 2010).
Shapiro (2016) made a case that The dilemma of multiple relationships was vividly depicted. The psychologist in question was ordered by the court to treat a sexually abused child and to provide the court with periodic reports on the same case. She always saw herself as a therapist, not a forensic examiner. Later, the alleged abuser filed a complaint against the psychologist for incompetence on the grounds that she did not follow ethical guidelines. The psychologist stated that her role was not forensic, but rather therapeutic, and that she did not need to follow the guidelines as a result. She had not made this point clear, however, until the complaint was filed. In other words, when she accepted She failed to make it clear to the child under her supervision that she was only providing therapeutic services and that her reports were not to be used for forensic purposes.

🧚🏽♀️Issue #3: Competence🧚🏽♀️
It is stated that psychologists must work within their competence boundaries, which are determined by their education, training, supervised experience, consultation, study, or professional experience (American Psychological Association 2010). They are either familiar with the judicial or administrative rules that govern the roles they play or will become so in the near future. To assess competence, we must consider the relative complexity and nature of the service to be provided, relevant training and experience, the amount of preparation and study they were able to devote to the matter, and the availability of consultation in a specific subject matter area (American Psychological Association 2010).
Forensic psychologists have an ethical obligation to inform the referral source whether there is a known basis in either research. or practice answering the specific question being asked They must avoid any misrepresentation of research. Awareness of legal and professional standards, law, rules, and procedures involved must not result in the threat or impairment of the affected individual's rights, as well as being sensitive to and knowledgeable about individuals (Canadian Psychological Association 2000).

🧚🏽♀️Issue #2: Confidentiality🧚🏽♀️
Forensic practitioners recognize their ethical obligations to maintain the confidentiality of information relating to a client or retaining party, except where disclosure is consented to by the client or retaining party, required or permitted by law, or both (EPPCC Standard 4.01).
A forensic psychologist's primary obligation is to take reasonable precautions to protect the client's confidentiality and to make it clear as to its limits. The disclosure must be made only with the client's or legally authorized individual's consent; it may also be made without the client's consent if required by law or when the psychologist uses the information for consultation or the client's protection
(American Psychological Association).

🧚🏽♀️Introductory Blog// Issue #1: Sexual Harassment in the Workplace🧚🏽♀️
My name is Abigail Channer, I am a 3rd year student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Forensic Sciences. I am currently doing a course called Forensic Psychology. A requirement for me to pass this course was to create this blog site and write on issues faced in Forensic Psychology. I appreciate all attention my blogs will get for they will shed light on situations some of us may not even be aware of. Thank you for reading, commenting, liking and sharing my blogs that are to come.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT
The first issue we will be looking at is Sexual Harassment in the Work place
Sexual Harassment is defined as
According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), sexual harassment can occur in a variety of ways:
Both the victim and the harasser can be female or male. The victim does not have to be the same gender as the harasser.
The harasser could be the victim's supervisor, an employer's agent, a supervisor in another department, a coworker, or a non-employee, such as a vendor or customer.
The victim does not have to be the person harassed, but anyone who is affected by the offensive behavior.
Unlawful sexual harassment can occur without causing economic harm or discharging the victim.
The harasser's behavior must be offensive.
Sexual harassment in the workplace should not be tolerated. As an person working in an organization, you have the right to a safe working environment. When a coworker, manager, or employer sexually harasses or discriminates against you on the job, you need a strong legal ally on your side.

🙏🏻 Law enforcement related story in the Bible, Blog 6 🙏🏻
Hey guyssss so today will be my final blog ☹️ sad, I know right ? But I’ve decided to go out on a positive note with a Bible story that I believe involved and issue in law enforcement that could have been better dealt with.
Functions of law enforcement entails a lot. We can see law being enforced everywhere even in the bible. There are many stories that are from the Bible where you can see law being enforced and restoration or even tighter punishments are being carried out. There are many concerns in the law enforcement system that are seeing from way back. Situations that are even prominent today as they were in Bible days. Many people can attest to understanding that there are laws that govern the systems and we should enforce them no matter the challenges that we face in doing so
The story from the Bible that I have chosen is the three Hebrew boys. In Daniel chapter 3 we see the story of when Daniel and his friends would not bow down to the golden image that they were being forced to. They were reprimanded for it by being thrown in a firery furnace by King Nebucanezar. God saw this act as Injust and He ensured that his three Hebrew boys would be protected for standing up for their rights and the rights of God.
As a law enforcement officer I would have intervened by ordering the removal of the three young men and king Nebucanezar be over thrown as king for that in humane act. He would have to be processed by the law for his act of violence against the young men because he did not get his command.
In this story I learned that even when we are being forced to do what is wrong when majority is doing it, we should stand out and do what is right. In the end Daniel and his friends were rewarded by God by not being burnt in the fire and that is what God expects from us. we should ensure that we stand up for right no matter where we are. At school, in the workplace anywhere we must stand up for right!
Until next time goodbye guys, it was great blogging with you, byeeee ❤️🙏🏻

Issues Relating to Selection & Evaluation of Police officers in Jamaica, Blog 5 🎀
Hey guys welcome back! Today we’ll be discussing what the topic states.
The selection and Evaluation of police officers are very important in my opinion. Every police officer must be properly evaluated and selected. In Jamaica the qualifications of becoming a police officer is that a police entrance examination is done and the applicants must have a minimum of 4 (CSEC) Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate subjects. Among these subjects English must be included. Females must be At least 5 feet 5 inches tall weighing 125lbs and males must be 5 feet 7 inches tall and a minimum of 135lbs. In my opinion I believe that these requirements are too basic to join the police force. A police officer should be one of standard and have proper training in body and their mind must be fully equipped to enforce the laws.
In Jamaica there is a lot of slackness in terms of people getting though in certain areas of work because of “links” a lot of people get though in the profession because of who knows them. The system needs to be more rigid for Jamaican citizens and pick out those who really want this job to enforce the law. Many of them are joining the forces for the wrong reasons such as monetary gain and “to have gun” The system needs to be looked over and proper management will result in proper conditions in the law enforcement system.
Like and comment your views and thanks for coming back all the time. Byeeee ❤️

🎀The issue of Discretion, blog 4 🎀
Heyy Abloggersss 🤩 I’m so excited to chat with you guys again, today we’ll be looking at Discretion in the law enforcement system. I hope I can get some good feedback from you guys.
Now Discretion in the Law enforcement system is defined as the ability of law enforcement officers to make decisions legally or based on their own judgment. Now we know that everyone’s judgment is different. Right ? Right ! The discretion bestowed on them is a result of their authority as decision making is a an effect of possessing power.
Discretion is usually used in minor situations such as a civilian running a red light or them stopping on the pedestrians crossing area. Though discretion doesn’t take a lot it also can become something negatively used. Some Police officers use discretion very wrong.
Discretion has its pros and it’s cons. Some situations where discretion is used are situations such as whether the officer is going to draw his weapon or not, whether he’s going to make an arrest or not, whether he’s going to perform a search or not, whether he’s going to shoot his gun or not. Etc.
Now the issue with discretion is that some officer use it wrongly. They exploit, serious cases are pushed aside, they take incentives instead of dealing with the issues correctly. These issues are always around and need more highlight to be fixed.
Thank for coming to my blog once again, please leave your comments and like to blogs, byeeee ❤️

🎀 The Issue of Police Use of Force Blog 3 🎀
Welcome back guyss! Today we’re focusing on the use of force by police officers. We all know that police officers duty is to use reasonable force to take a person into custody or to control a situation. Law enforcement officers should only use the amount of force necessary to mitigate an incident, make an arrest or to protect themselves or others from harm. The levels or the continuum of force that police use should include basic verbal and physical restraint, less lethal force and in drastic cases lethal forces.
We can see where many of the police-community relations element of 21CPI have been violated. The 21st Century Policing Initiative (21CPI) have been in the stage of being implemented some years now. Many officers come under heavy attack in violent crimes and the use of force must be enforced to control the situation. However the police officers sometimes fail to put limits on police use of force in some cases for example:
• failing to require officers to de-escalate situations where proper communication can be used to eliminate the need to use force
• some officers fail to give a verbal warning when possible before shooting at a civilian
• they also sometimes fail to require officers to report each time they use force or threatened to use force against civilians.
Here we can see where police use of force currently lack basic protections against police violence. Any additional views you might have on this situation please share, comment and like my blog. Thanks for stopping by again! Byeeee ❤️

🎀 What is Law Enforcement ? An issue in Law Enforcement *Blog 2* 🎀
Hey guyss so we’ll be looking at what is law enforcement today, now law enforcement is defined as the action or the activity of compelling observance of the compliance with the law. It is the duty of a law enforcement officer to act in a manner to enforce the law by discovering, deterring, rehabilitating or punishing the persons who have violated the rules or laws that are put in place to govern the society. The term law enforcement encompasses police, courts and corrections. The law enforcement is the government and their enforcement officers. All of us should help to uphold the law correctly.
The first issues I decided to focus on today in the Law Enforcement system is the issue of Police Brutality. Police brutality is defined as the excessive and unwarranted use of force by law enforcement. It is an extreme form of police misconduct or violence and it is a violation of civil rights. In today’s society we see where a lot of police brutality is taken place. Police officers overuse their power and brutalize citizens of the country and often times get away with it. Some cases where we can see police brutality are in the George Floyd’s case where an officer used excessive force in the form of violence that took the life of a man. King was beaten by LAPD officers during his arrest, after a high-speed chase, for driving while intoxicated.
Now I believe that all cases where police brutality is observed it must be dealt with in a strong and disciplining manner. No one should ever be brutalized by police officers and if we all look out for each other this can be prevented! thank you for your time and I look forward to chatting with you in our next blogs !
