Tucked behind local shops and shaded by old trees, the Northbend Laundromat doesn’t take cards, doesn’t ask questions, and somehow always smells faintly of cedar and bubblegum.

Dakota lives next door with her twin toddlers — and yes, she’s tired.

You can drop off laundry, pick up local gossip, or just sit there pretending your dryer cycle isn’t done yet.

Rumor has it the dryer sometimes starts on its own after midnight.

Dakota says it’s the wind.

The ghost says otherwise.

Oh, and if you’re wondering about the shoes strung over the old electrical lines —

no one really knows who started it.

Some say it’s art.

Some say it’s a warning.

Dakota says it’s teenagers with too much time and bad aim.
