I haven't seen any posts about this, but I could've very easily missed it because I miss a lot of stuff.

But after watching Sad-ist's Hog Hunt, it has come back into the forefront of my mind.

This scene right here. The reveal of the hundred of Wither Skeleton Skulls.

Naturally, people would assume that Techno began collecting them to us as tools of retaliation against anyone who crossed him.

Which is a fair observation/assumption and possibly one underlying reason why the vault was built.

But my mind instantly went in a different direction:

No matter how much he pleaded and begged the Voices to let him retire and live peacefully, they would do nothing but scream and demand blood and violence. They did not want peace. They did not want quiet. They wanted blood and destruction. They would not bargain and they would not back down. So Techno had to figure out a way to appease them. Thus he ventured into the Nether, stumbled upon the fortress. There were many wither skeletons, so so many.

The Voices called for a fight and Techno gave it, cutting down mob after mob until he stood in the middle of bones and stone swords and cracked skulls. That's when he realized how quiet his head was, the Voices had receded to a low, tolerable hum.

That's when Technoblade realized that he could live in peace, with no violence against other people so long as he ventured into the Nether when the Voices started to rise and appease them with the death of wither skeletons.

He kept the skulls as keepsake, realizing they could have a use later if needed.

And then when the Butcher Army happened and Technoblade almost died, yet escaped, he knew that peace was not an option, that the Voices had been correct and that he now felt the need to retaliate.

i also think the villainisation of c!technoblade vs the unrepentingly positive view of c!tubbo is related to different forms of ableism directed against the ccs.

like how cc!techno's adhd in particular isn't woobifiable, he's widely viewed as monotonous, dry, uncaring, etc, because the way tone is expressed by ppl w/ adhd is incomprehensible to neurotypical people. i've seen people call his character sociopathic without blinking an eye because that's just how they've misrepresented cc!techno's traits. him hyperfocusing on grinding resources and collecting skulls leads to his character being viewed as power hungry and undefeatable, when in reality anyone on the server could grind as much as he does and train in pvp etc to at least give themselves a fighting chance.

tubbo on the other hand is infantilised by the majority of the fanbase, his neurodivergency is "cute" when he spells things wrong, when he stumbles over his words, etc. his character has genuinely committed multiple war crimes, frequently is out for blood, but the fandom overlooks it because they flatten cc!tubbo to a 2-d, endlessly positive, innocent (more ableism!), naive person and then apply those traits to his character. i can't speak on the details of dyslexia because i don't have it but i'm sure there are more examples i can't think of.

Thinkin bout techno being like this Big Daunting figure n known for being Dangerous and how hes like Terrifying and Not Human and scary. But hes Still like. He Knows. And he moves slowly and softly and is kind to small animals and creatures. N he Knows ppl r afraid of him and kids sometimes cower and it Sucks but he tries to be as unimposing as possible and tries to be unnoticeable and Small and doesnt speak up much or at all.

Here's a little lesson in the Tumblr algorithm, for those who don't know: the only way for a post to be spread to someone's dash, after it's already been made, is through reblogs. Likes do very little for boosting visibility. Besides adding notes so a post has a higher likelihood of appearing at the top of search results for the tags they're featured in, likes are just caches to show/store posts you've liked. They do not significantly increase the likelihood that the post will be seen by more people. The only way to ensure this is to reblog it to your own blog, so your followers will see it.

Also, this isn't Twitter. I know that on Twitter, it's largely expected for most of your profile to consist of mostly your own tweets, and not too many retweets. Tumblr is extremely different, in that the entire site is made up of shared posts. The site is designed for maybe 5% of the content on your dash to be original content at any given moment, while 95% will be reblogs from others, and that's perfectly acceptable and expected, actually.

This is all to say that, I know a lot of you come from Tik Tok or Twitter, where liking content has a direct, positive effect on the content's visibility. I know that your FYP is dictated by what gets more likes/what the people you follow like, and that Twitter shows posts your following likes on the TL. But Tumblr is extremely different. So please, don't hesitate to reblog shit on this website, especially art/writing. If you liked an artist's work, the best thing you can do for them is reblog it because simply liking it will do very little to boost their post's visibility. This doesn't just apply to art either; if there's a PSA, theory, etc., that you enjoyed and want more people to see, the only way for that to happen is to reblog.

c!technoblade’s love lanugage is giving gifts right ? friendship emeralds, turtle hat, netherite, tommy’s disk…

… all i’m saying is that there are only a few people who can talk to technoblade using a language other than violence and it’s philza and ranboo. 

ranboo talks to technoblade. it’s a lot to hope but maybe techno will realize that there are languages other than violence because of it.

Some Recent Lore Reveals on the DSMP

So I think at this point we can agree that it’s not a coincidence that more of the streamers on the Dream SMP are getting involved with the lore, but also having their own personal lore! Finally, something the fandom has been trying to figure out and headcanon since forever is starting to get fleshed out more. Character backstories.

- Hannah is actually a badass flower nymph of some sort, whose power and strength comes from the many flowers she plants around the smp. She’s also a badass who is absolutely BRUTAL, doing what needs to be done to save herself with no regrets.

- Foolish is an immortal totem god of some sort, who can actually understand the Egg without its words being in reverse. He’s an amazingly skilled builder, who might be canonically gigantic? Pretty pog!

- Philza is an immortal as well, he used to have wings and would send letters to Wilbur during the pre-11/16 era. He has some sort of rivalry with Foolish.

- CaptainPuffy is not just a captain in name! She was an actual pirate, with a ship, and her own pirate’s outfit. She also has sheep horns, and amnesia of any life events from before 11/16. She was in search of a treasure which might be the cure to her family curse, whatever that might be, and has a mother waiting for her.

- Tubbo and Ranboo have platonically married and have a zombie piglin child. Yes this is super cursed and I’ve tried to ignore it, but it is being taken seriously as canon. Why am I so surprised? Tubbo was there when Wilbur made Fundy being his bio son and the existence of Sally canon. Tubbo is still going strong with his nukes plotline as well, good for him. Hopefully the Bee n Boo hotel project doesn’t die now that they are commissioning a giant mansion for their child from Foolish.

- Eret is actually somehow related to Herobrine! Which is really cool, so I hope that they do more with that idea!!

- Ponk is indeed descended from Jack the Farmer of tales from the smp fame, and has a large and impressive inheritance from him.

- Technoblade hibernates during blizzards. We somewhat knew that he was a pig/piglin hybrid before, but this really confirms that he’s playing into it even if he’s using it to excuse his long absence from the server.

- Sapnap was “born from fire“ like a freaking blaze, and BadBoyHalo is his father! It’s a bit smaller lore than most, but much appreciated.

- Purpled has been holed up in his cave home for months, seemingly with his only outside contact being Ponk, and is willing to work as a mercenary for money.

- Karl is actually a time traveler like the fandom made him be! He’s done a lot in tftsmp with the idea, and has recently returned to streaming on the actual smp to play out what that means for his relationships. He founded Kinoko with George and Sapnap! Something disturbing is going on with the Inbetween, the dimension of no colors but a lot of Karls!

- DreamXD appeared to George, established a McDonalds, and seemed to show respect to the image of Master Oogway, furthering the established religion of Twitch Prime into confirmed canonical levels. Remember when Puffy pleaded to Oogway to bring Tommy back from the dead? Yeah, Master Oogway from Kungfu Panda is canon to the Dream SMP. This is surely a serious minecraft roleplay.

- Connar is immortal/a time traveler/a necromancer. Or something. I’ll be honest, I haven’t been paying much attention to his lore. Good for him though!

- Schlatt confirmed through tftsmp that Glatt exists and is having his best life being a ghostly land lord haunting a mansion far away from the lands of the smp.

- Dream revealed that he does actually have power over life and death, even from his prison cell, making him something like a god.

- Wilbur revealed that he has been busy in the afterlife, continuing to learn about the universe and making plans for his return. Terrifying!

- Tommy has continued his angsty teen arc (we’ve all been there before), with even more trauma! He’s been brought back to life, with all of the cursed knowledge gained in the experience. Being resurrected cannot have no consequences, so we will have to wait and see what they might be.

- Punz is the mercenary we know and love, but he is also a gamer. He has to do something in that egged tower of his all day, playing video games only makes sense.

- Jack recently went over his character’s history on stream, really grounding his character and motivations, and foreshadowing further development in the future. I’m personally manifesting this man’s brief brush with death getting canonized that he cannot be fully killed or something, rage and determination keeps him going.

- Niki has moved on from her ambitions of killing Tommy, and has moved on to join the Syndicate as one of its newest members alongside Ranboo.

- Sam has serious regrets about how his actions as warden have effected others, and is confirmed not controlled by the egg yet. Sam please check up on Dream and get Tommy out of there soon.

People with confirmed upcoming lore include Hbomb, Quackity (plz stream on the smp soon king, we want that capitalist content), and really anyone who wants to get involved! I’m so hyped for all of our dream smp streamers, because they really are embracing the fact that this is a roleplay server and have decided to expand their own characters. The fandom eats this stuff up, especially with fanmade resources to help people get caught up, so hopefully we see even more in the future!
