Queer Ally Tip #2
It's ok to mess up on pronouns. As long as you're doing your best, we appreciate it. When you do mess up though, avoid making a big deal of it. When you repeatedly apologize or freak out about it, it draws more attention than needed to the slip up and makes us feel worse. Its way better to quickly correct yourself and move on. We appreciate your effort more than you think.
No: "And then she- oh shit sorry! I meant he! Then he! Oh my god I'm so sorry! I've been trying really hard to use he! Its just difficult, ya know? Please don't be mad at me or cry!"
Yes: "And then she-sorry, he-said that he was..."

Trans With A GNC Style
It can be tough to be Trans when your personal style doesn't perfectly align with your gender identity. Say you are a transmasc who likes skirts and makeup, or a transfem who likes short hair and flannels, or whatever. It often really sucks, and it feels like you have to chose between passing and your individual style. I want you to know that, like gender itself, it's not a binary choice. It's all about finding a compromise that works for you. If changing your style to affirm your gender works for you, that's amazing! If embracing your style despite your gender works for you, that's great! Whatever middle ground works for you is incredible! No matter what you do, your trans identity is valid. You are so strong, I'm proud of you!

Oof
That conflicted feeling when a teenage boy holds the door for you (surprisingly rare in my school) and you feel happy that a stranger was kind enough to do that but then he says "Ladies First" and you get dysphoric AF.

Weird Non-Binary Life Hack
When someone says “ladies and gentleman” or “boys and girls” or something like that to address a group and you don’t want to listen to them, you don’t technically have to, as you are neither a lady nor a gentleman.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
there’s really no “passing” when you’re nb, it’s more like “aiming for confusion”

Queer Holidays This August 2019
So, I missed some queer holidays this year so I’m going to start making a list of LGBTQ+ holidays for each month. I’ll normally do it on the first of that month but I want to start this today so... here’s all the Queer holidays this august.
August 30th: Australian Wear It Purple Day
So... ya I guess there’s not a lot of queer holidays in august for whatever reason :/
If anyone actually sees this let me know if ya find any holidays to add to the list.

Queer Ally Tip
Instead of asking “What gender are you?” or “Are you a boy or a girl?”, ask “What are your pronouns?”. It comes across as more polite and gives you all the necessary information. Plus, If the person is Non-Binary and/or Transgender they will most likely be happy you cared to ask their pronouns.

Non-Binary People AREN’T A New Thing
Non-Binary people have existed since the beginning of time, the only reason more people are openly identifying as Non-Binary in western society is because:
A) With the internet and the rise of Non-Binary representation in media more people are discovering what Non-Binary is and realizing they fit into that label.
B) More people are accepting Non-Binary identities and validating people who identify this way, making them less afraid to be themselves.
But anyway, the point is that genders besides male and female have existed for thousands of years, and across thousands of cultures. Here are just a few examples:
The Hijra, a legally recognized third gender in India
Sacred Jewish text’s 6 genders, Zachar (male), Nekeivah (female), Angrogynous, Tumtum, Ay’lonit, and Saris
The Muxes of Mexico
The sacred Mahu of Hawaii
The Wakashu of Japan’s Edo era
The Sekhet gender of ancient Egypt
There are many more examples, and it’s honestly just so stupid and ignorant when people act is if other genders are just a new trendy thing when people that exist separate from male and female have been around since the beginning of time.
