Visualizing Statistics In Minecraft
The data on spending by the public sector is often difficult to comprehend and compare. Tables are often used to present data about government. In this hack I have used open data from Eurostat (the EU statistics agency) on government expenditures for a set of countries and rendered boxes in a Minecraft world. This makes it possible to study the data by walking (flying) around the globe.
Boxes for expenditure data are ordered as General public service Defence, Public order security, Economic affairs and protection housing and community amenities. Health, Recreation and culture, religion, Education Social security.

3. Overview of Germany, France and the UK:
Future plans include making budget deficits appear like holes in the ground, and allowing people to enter boxes to see subdivisions. The data for Greece should be rendered in lava, I think.
